OK, I am finished tinkering with my new spreadsheet that maps out the Lisk ICO progress on a day-to-day basis.   It's not perfect but everything lines up well enough for now.   Take a look at the final form:

From an accounting standpoint, there are four sources of BTC being poured into Lisk every day.  One of these are "real" and the other three are "being created out of thin air".  

This is not a scam, this is how the real world operates.  Every business in the world has "infrastructure expenses", "advertising expenses" and "management expenses" that exist and have to be paid for outside of  their "cash in the bank".  So does Lisk.  This is all going exactly as everybody agreed to in the Terms and Conditions you read before donating any "real" BTC.  

The "real" BTC are of course the actual BTC donations, and these are currently around 64.4% of total market cap - a very healthy number, I think.  

The other three categories of "effective" BTC being "created" within Lisk are the promised early participation bonuses, the Crypti transfer, and the Lisk Foundation treasury.   As of today there are no more early participation bonus BTC being "created", so for the rest of the ICO there will only be additions to market cap by the other two.

Ultimately the financing of the "created" BTC listed here comes through acceptance by the public of Lisk as a strong coin that will deliver new tech.  Such acceptance comes at the exchanges when we get there.  Once the market judges the future potential of Lisk and sets a price per Lisk above the launch price - THAT'S when all of these "created" BTC become "real".

And that's gonna happen.

Making sausage is not a pretty process but in the end it tastes great.  I don't think any other cryptocoin has been this open with its numbers behind the curtains.  If you mapped out the ICO of every other coin in this manner, including Ethereum, I think few if any of them would have numbers that look as good as these.   I believe Lisk can hold its head high about and be very proud about how they have organized their ICO.

Hey, why would the ROI double ? If I understand correctly, if the amount of BTC doubles, we will receive 2x less lisk, but the price of one lisk will be multiplied by two. So the ROI should stay the same no ?

My prediction is we collect around 4500 btc until ico ends (no more bonus) plus 75 mil XCR, Lisk has a market cap of 2.75 mil. usd before hitting any exchange and in one month a market cap of 10 mil. Stable there for 3 to 6 months and the market will wait to see the devs to start delivering. If project proceeds well then 1 year market cap of 45-50 mil. Also very important how eth will go and generally the Internet of things tech. Looks like the demand for coins which can offer real world useful products and services through dapps or smart contracts is there, and old coins 100% clones of btc (like ltc, doge) will die quickly. A big question is btc, but because we all use btc to move around other coins and in general the crypto world's money is btc, this means that btc demand will keep to be strong.

So remove the signatures and keep your mouths shut lol we dont need the hype NOW we need it on launch. Or if you want to make the devs richer than they can imagine and the coin to flop. Spread the word to the heavens lol

You must be new here and didn't hear about Ethereum that gathered 30 000 BTC on IPO and got to the second place by market cap.

There was a big gap of several months between the end of Ethereum ICO and start of trading unlike LISK, right?

Right. I also wrote about it. No reason to push Lisk to exchanges asap. It might be better to let everybody wait for a few weeks and grow their interest in the meanwhile by having some development and piblicity.

Well the good news is that the biggest exchange of bitcoins usually happens on a Monday because of the waiting period over the weekend.(banks are closed on Sundays! and coinbase waiting period, etc)  So it will probably slow down until Thursday then the last chance to exchange your cryptocurrencies for LISK surge will probably occur.

Question for Max / Lisk Devs -

I'm sure you guys are familiar with NXT 2.0 design proposal and how it solves the blockchain scalability problem.

From what i understand of the lisk technical design, it is very similar to NXT's sidechain solution but with a turing complete layer and a slightly different consensus model - DPOS instead of POS.

Now my question is this - Does this mean that all the advantages of NXT 2.0 when it comes to scalability and blockchain bloat are also applicable to Lisk?

Is Lisk a NXT 2.0 inspired, Ethereum alternative with Bitshares' consensus model?  

Honestly, I'm not all that familiar with Nxt 2.0. Main reason is, because there is no summary or white paper. I won't read over dozens of pages in a forum to know what it is.

I just know that there is something going on with child chains, fNXT and so on. I think it's a bad idea to split the coins, but due to my limited knowledge about it I can't make a profound statement.

It would be great if you can give me a short summary.

Lisk is definitely Nxt inspired, but not Nxt 2.0. We are also inspired by BitShare's DPoS. From Ethereum we took no ideas as far as I can see.

I'm not that familiar with the low level details of the NXT 2.0 design either. However, i guess i have been reading up on the discussion so brieflly -
NXT 2.0

- Allows many independent blockchain initiatives / blockchain businesses to hook onto NXT's main "forging" chain. This allows new blockchain businesses to pay fees to the forging network (meta layer) and in return gain the security and infrastructure of the nodes that make up the NXT forging network. I find this very similar to Lisk's main chain and side chain relationship.

- The NXT 2.0 design keeps blockchain bloat to negligible levels by only storing a hash of the child chain states which secures the child chains without bloating up the main network. Child chains don't need to store all their tx history to be cryptographically secure. Is Lisk also similar?

- NXT 2.0 allows for much higher tps and blockchain scalability since child chain blocks are generated on demand and not in a periodic interval.

- NXT 2.0 allows all child chains to have their own native token and charge fees for child chain operations in their own native token.

There are more specifics but i think in general there are some parallels between Lisk and NXT 2.0 but now that i dive deeper, i see the differentiation here since in Lisk each child chain will be a dapp and in NXT it could be a blockchain business / token / currency. But hey, these lines of differentiation can easily get blurry.
