I was just checking the starting grid for the MotoGP race today at 8 PM Central European time and I saw that a lot of the good drivers are not participating,I don't know many of these guys and I am going to watch the race just to compare between these guys and old riders like Rossi,Lorenzo and Dovizioso.

I think the MotoGP is not the same without them but let's watch this race to see if I am right or wrong.I missed a lot of news of these guys most likely Lorenzo which quit for good and Dovizioso losing his place as the main rider at Ducati.Good news is that most probably Marquez will be back after the infamous crash of Indonesian GP.

I agree that Gasly is not at an age where you can say "let him grow a bit there" because he is 26 if I am not wrong, 27 next season and 28 after that, which is getting quite older. However Perez was around that age when he came right? 30 or something? Which means that Red Bull is not really looking for a long term partner that would go for many years, they are looking for whoever would be the best for Max and that's it.

I believe that it is like a Hamilton with whoever situation Mercedes had for many years. This means they can keep Perez, because Perez is the ultime team player, pre Bottas style racer that aims to just help the team without creating drama to win something.

I don't think it's just Honda's engine power, Honda has had problems for several years and Marc Marquez is always out of shape. With Yamaha I see more of a problem in the engine power deficit, Yamaha never had the most powerful engine but this year it looks like they haven't made any progress in terms of power and the engines are frozen again except for Aprilia (how much longer).

Honda and Yamaha are bringing up the rear in the manufacturers' championship, has that ever happened before? The season is still long but not a good sign for the perennial winning teams of the last decades.

Aleix Espargaro's historic win at the Argentine Grand Prix added four points to the concession for the Aprilia manufacturer.

Last year, Aprilia got one (1) concession point through Aleix Espargaro's third podium finish in the British MotoGP series at the Silverstone Circuit.

Thanks to Espargaro's victory at Termas de Rio Hondo last weekend, Aprilia has now collected four (4) concession points.

Thus, the manufacturer, based in Noale, Italy, is only slightly away from losing the privilege, namely if it gains two (2) additional points.

Would anyone want to go to Mercedes at the moment? Ferrari and RB would be the teams of choice. I suppose the big question is if at the end of the season the Merc is still not up to speed, then will Hamilton want to try a different car before he retires? I'm sure he'd want to drive a Ferrari at some point if it turns out Sainz is not quite as good as everyone had hoped. But I think the chance of Hamilton at Red Bull is about zero, really can't imagine him in a team with Max, it would be like the Rosberg years again but about 10x worse!
