Does it bother you that CPU's two years ago were not as fast as CPU's today and they cost more 2 years ago?
I'm actually surprised that it doesn't bother people that few will make any profit on their BFL FPGAs and then they must all double their money they give to BFL before they reach that profit mark and start again ... due to BFL themselves.

What choice is there?  If a person doesn't do it, someone else will and then they are left behind.
There is no choice Smiley
Let's hope they can reach a break even on the money they spent on the FPGA and then the ASIC before something happens there also ....

what else could happen, anyway? aside from quantum computing, isn't the only danger to ASICs other ASICs? thus one could infer the hasing of one ASIC chip (assuming both are actually full custom asics, anyway) compared ot another wouldn't be THAT drastically different. or so i'd think. how wrong am i?

obviously if BFL's isn't full custom and someone elses IS, well, that's a different matter.

i don't post much, but this space for rent.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

has bfl graced us with any pictures, better delivery date, better specs, or anything of use to determine what in the heck is going on?
Oct 1st is about 30-40 days away here.

If there is a hard fork changing the hashing then all ASIC miners will become value-less junk.
They cannot be changed to doing something other than sha256.

If someone breaks sha-2 (sha256) then the hash in bitcoin will need to be changed.

sha-1 before it, was broken, and even the US gov mandated that sha-1 wouldn't be used after 2010
sha-3 exists - why? Coz like all computing - sha-2 will be broken one day - and then we'll all move on to using sha-3

I still hope to see any Terms or Policies on there website.
The following is what BFL-Engineer messaged me after I asked:

Quote from: BFL-Engineer
Dear Grouver,

I understand your concerns with the fact that no disclaimer and policies is published yet. We're working on
it as we speak, and rest assured, it is and it will be customer friendly.

-BFL-

This message was sent to me on July the 5th.
Still nothing on there website though.  Undecided

Again, a fine idea, but again we'll get complaints that we rigged the demo somehow.  I'm not sure about the radio silence thing, since there's nothing that hasn't already been said available to communicate.  What details would you like to know?

power usage, heat load, physical measurements, weight requirements, for the SC and 1TH boxes. If you don't want to make those public, at least make them available to certificate pre-orders under an NDA.

Hopefully BFL_Josh won't be like BFL-Engineer

BFL-Engineer also said (on July 5th) that there would be new bitsteams that weekend ...

... and ... he said that they were already working on EasyMiner back then on July-5 ...

They have some of that info for the current gen Single, but they don't even have any of that info for the MiniRig on their website. If they don't even have that info for their currently for sale products, why would they give you the specs for a to-be-released product on a forum? Because you demanded to know?

The website is my focus this week, I hope to have it cleaned up and more information posted.  Easyminer has taken a back seat for a lot of that time due to our focus on the ASIC engineering as we have limited resources when it comes to that.  We have been putting some resources into Easyminer recently though.  We hope to have something more available RSN.

Website and more information is definitely a priority for this week, though.

Why do you post in BFL's thread, just to link to another (brand new) thread where you ask for an update?

why do you quote the link if you don't like it?

why do you quote the link if you don't like it?

Because the quote button copies a person's entire post, including links? I fail to see your point?

I have no idea why this company fails to live up to any sort of time line they mention.
Your week is up. I went to your website. I still do not see any new information. Thus I do not place an order.

The week they referred to was the week during which the website was a priority, not the week by which it would be done. There may be nothing to show for the work, but they didn't promise a show.

This is the kind of crap though that makes them not even want to be this specific.
