Hmmm, it doesn't seem to make much difference what I set the diff at TBH, the workers just seem to randomly stop and start of their own accord. I've tried from the default up to 3 on all 3 rigs so far - no difference. My biggest rig is only 2g/hash, the smallest is 1.3g/hash, so pretty pointless going too high I think - or am I wrong?  Huh

Peace.
yeah pointless going too high - it will make it worse
thanks for trying that Smiley

No worries. Is the work the miners doing being while the workers are off being recorded on some db somewhere - or am I losing it?

Not sure if it means anything, but I switched all my rigs over to stratum (from eustratum), and since doing so I've not had any idle worker emails at all, and the full hash rate is now showing constant again. is it possible it's an eustratum issue only?

Peace.

EDIT: That's using the -1 vardiff parameter too.

Try using a manual vardiff setting.  Use the vardiff the site sets you to as a guide.

Can you post your hashrate?

In the meantime, what happens if you manually set vardiff to 1?

Hi Organ,

Rig 1 = 1.5 gig
Rig 2 =  2 gig
Rig 3 = 1.3 gig

All are gpu rigs running latest cgminer. I usually use eustratum as that's the closest with the lowest ping time for me (but I have noticed it has almost doubled lately), and it's been fine for months, but the last few days I'm getting a constant flow of worker idle notifications no matter what server I use. I've tried adjusting the vardiff to 1, 2 & briefly to 3 but it makes no difference. When another user said he had the same problem I presumed it was a server issue, but now I'm beginning to think it's something at my end, I'm not sure.

if pingtime has doubled I would be curious to see a traceroute
we are also having an issue with the server showing miners offline when they arent, this also triggers idle worker emails
Blaksmith started digging into that last night - he is currently out, I will see where he got up to when he returns

It could be both of us Sad

OK, well it can't be vardiff that's triggering the emails - at D1 for Rig 3 should usually be submitting between 10 and 27 shares per minute. The chance of submitting none in that time is vanishingly small.

Best of luck finding a fix - should be a fun geek out Wink

Just pinged again and it's gone back down to 48 - yesterday it was between 80-100.

Something wrong with the site or pool? My workers are submitting shares, but that isn't being reflected on the website. In fact, the displayed pool hashrate has been swinging between 0 and 5000ghps for the past 20 minutes or so.

About 1/3 of the workers on the The Hall of Fame 'current round' are showing 0 (or at least unusually small compared to their position on the list) hashrate as well.

That was only for about 10 minutes.  Seems the website is not connecting/getting stats from mining nodes, but mining node are running fine.

EDIT: Might have spoken too soon.  Seems pool hashrate stats are all over the place.  I've messaged Graet.

I don't know if it's CGMiner 11.2 or OzCoin but I too have been getting tons of idle notifications even though the miners are submitting shares.  My share submitted count seems more or less correct but the graph and the calculated hash rate have been off since the forking rollback.  I switched to CGMiner 11.2 (from 10.5) 2 days ago so I don't know if that has anything to do with it since I know the pool switching algorithms were changed.

I have been looking into the issue the last 2 days, and I have found some of the problems with it.. All shares are accounted for, just some major delays, and I'm still digging to ease up some of these delays.

Just an update.  I have found a few more ways to ease up the delays in the core of the shares accounting section.  I do believe that I have gotten the idle worker notification issue resolved for the time being.

Please let us know if there are any more notifications that go out when your miner is still working perfectly fine.
