Hi.
Quick 2 questions, as I have installed Margin right now (after a long period of research, reading reviews and watching YT videos), but I don't simply have time to crunch through all 235 pages of this topic and there's no "search in this topic" button.

1. Is there a Stop Loss AND Trailing Stop Loss in manual trading?
2. Is there a way to "compress" the chart (candles width and padding between) in order to have more candles visible at once?

1. Is there a Stop Loss AND Trailing Stop Loss in manual trading?
Quote
At this time, only Bitfinex has support for trailing stop and stop orders in manual trading.
That's right, most of the exchanges have not "natural" trailing stop loss.
But that's why I'm asking - IF you could code it in Margin?
This seems preety straightforward:
1) BTX Wink = 100$, I put Limit Buy @99$ with Trailing Stop Loss @90$
2) Margin place "normal" Limit Buy @99$
3) BTX => 98$, Limit Buy is executed, Margin is placing "normal" Limit Sell @90$ (9$ negative offset)
4) BTX => 120$, Margin close current Limit Sell order and calculate new one with 9$ negative offset, Margin put new Limit Sell order @111$
5) BTX => 129$, Margin close current Limit Sell order and calculate new one with 9$ negative offset, Margin put new Limit Sell order @120$
6) rinse and repeat

Possible? Would you do it in future releases?

2. Is there a way to "compress" the chart (candles width and padding between) in order to have more candles visible at once?
Quote
You can choose a different time window to see more candles or open a tool window to see another chart with more candles

I mean, having possibility to utilize all possible screen area would be GREAT.

Also, 2 new questions:

3. Is it possible to add new toggle to show horizontal line with current market price?

4. Is it possible to take out the order wall out of candles chart and put it in separate window region pinned to right side of screen?
I mean, I want to "pin" order wall at manually set fixed width of this section.

Hi,

Thanks for checking out margin!

1. Is there a Stop Loss AND Trailing Stop Loss in manual trading?
We only support stop and trailing stop on Bitfinex. Some exchanges don't offer these advanced order calls in their APIs so we will introduce a margin advanced order module that uses the native API calls if available and otherwise emulates them.
2. Is there a way to "compress" the chart (candles width and padding between) in order to have more candles visible at once?
No, horizontal scaling is not possible. To see more data you need to chose larger time candles.

Sorry, just saw this message now.

All the things you have asked are possible and might end up in future versions.

We are a small startup with limited resources though so please be patient. On average we release an updated version every 4 weeks with a bunch of new features.

We will take note of your feature suggestions and discuss internally.

All the best,
Jonathan

So, it is like "no. it never will be implemented", or "maybe in future releases"?

Yeah, that kind of stinks. But if you  hover over the box or right after you check it, you'll get the notice it is for paying exchange fees in BNB.

Hi.
Did anybody run Margin on Debian 9?
The perfect way to find out would be to download the demo, uncompress it and go!

If you re-start margin you will see some gaps in the trade history. We are dealing with multiple issues with our data collection services and hope to have a redundant solution in place by end of business today.

Really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Note, you can still use margin as usual but if running bots that require trade statistics you should only choose time windows that have candles in them.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Just took  my own advice and it never felt so good!  Grin

This most recent uptick has given us an opportunity to get back into the driver's seat.

Had I started heeding this advice a year and a half ago my life would be much different...

To all my margin user friends, behold true wisdom:

I did that. I have Debian 9 with XFCE.
After executing >sh run-margin.sh I get:

X server cannot be accessed.
Please check your display variable and the permission of your X server.

I'm not very familiar with Linux...

Yeah! Same as me! I'm using the XFCE4 on Ubuntu. OK cool, now we know the default interpreter is BASH. Which should have the all the paths setup for you so no need to start an additional  shell command. That's what sh does. Come straight at it.
cd margin-linux
then

that is dot forward slash run-margin.sh
If that doesn't work, write them support@margin.de, they actually have a Linux guru on staff, I've traded many an email with him.

You're almost there!

Notice regarding Poloniex downtime

"As part of our efforts to improve the site, we are conducting maintenance beginning on February 22nd at 22:00 UTC. We expect the maintenance to take several hours. During this time, the site will be offline and trading will be suspended. Your funds will be safe during maintenance, and you do not need to do anything at this time.
When the site is back online, markets will be in post-only mode for a short time before we reopen trading. During this time, you can cancel open orders and create new orders, but no orders will be filled. We do not plan to cancel open orders. However, if specific markets experience major price movements, we may cancel open orders in that market. If we decide to do so, we will notify customers via Twitter and in-app announcements.
For more details, please see our FAQs. For updates on the upgrade while it’s underway, please check our Twitter account. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the Poloniex experience. This upgrade will ensure a faster, more reliable site and allow us to develop new features for you (and bring back some old, beloved features).
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our support team."

Why can't I have 3hr and 4hr timeframes? It's frustrating not being able to have the 4hr charts.
Is there a way I can add it or something?

Why can't you have something? Maybe because you are one of thousands of customers, all of who want slightly different things and we need to resource and prioritise feature requests.

We are always happy to get feedback from our customers and we have been constantly improving margin since its release back in 2014  Wink
