Can anyone help with this? I looked into Heat.properties but not sure where to add my wallet address.

The guide is very vague.

How do I import my wallet into my node server? Is there a safer way or do I need my HEAT in my node wallet?

It is in the highlighted part here that sets wallet.
Quote
curl -k -s http://localhost:7733/api/v1/mining/start/this%20is%20your%20secret%20phrase\?api_key=defined_in_heat-default.properties
You only need to set your api key in HEAT.properties

Soon you will be able to lease your HEAT to your node for added security.

oh ok, I hadn't noticed it. oops  Grin
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

So I did everything, but the curl command doesn't do anything at all.

I downloaded the client to my vps, do I need to run the client also or just the ledger node part? curl is not doing anything. I am running Ubuntu

When we are up and running and have released the HDK (Heat Development Kit - Needed for our work with ABN AMRO bank [among others]) we will be moving to the peer 2 peer parts.
It will be the last part that will be replaced that's still based on NXT code.

great, i do hope there are people here in the forum who can help. I guess the next 100 days is dedicated to hdk, but maybe you can have a second team.

     Why so much trouble? Heat currency does not automatically release it?

There was a claiming period for the token that you have missed by months. That's why the extra effort is needed.

The amount of blocks you generate depends on how much HEAT you are holding, not your hardware.

Also the block rewards are 0 ATM so you wont get any HEAT even if you generate a block. The rewards should be back some time this week.

AKKA is the next step in 6 months, i guess. And then lets see further.... 3300 tps is so far the record made by bitshares, but thats absolutely hightech with 3 seconds blocks

Help strengthening and securing the HEAT global network of nodes. Currently there are 50+ nodes, but mainly located in Europe and the USA. Additional nodes are needed in places like Russia, Middle East, South East Asia, China, India, South America, Africa, and Australia. An updated list (every 10 minutes) of nodes can be found at http://heatnodes.org as well as links to other web-sites dedicated to the HEAT Crypto project.

That is something nice Smiley I think the map will look a lot different after we get the next release with rewards enabled. So better get suited up already ppl.

50+ nodes is pretty good considering the reward is 0 and all the upgrades and workarounds that people had to use until recently

Lucky node lottery got a donation from gh2, it will begin to send rewards in a few hours.

Lucky node lottery for HEAT.

This HEAT account will be used for donations: 3783387583602366138
and to send payouts to HEAT node operators. Sponsors, please send your donations and support the HEAT network.
public key: a0e7741f68a7ed7ae4b4c03dff7fe4e01a9576256d0190e16dd0b5ccc4320f60

HEAT node operators need to put their HEAT account id in the heat.myPlatform setting, example:
heat.myPlatform=1111111111111111111
if your hallmark has a positive weight, you will get extra rewards.
this is recommended too, I didn't find the numbers for incoming and outgoing peers, they are probably not implemented yet.
heat.maxNumberOfConnectedPublicPeers=500
It's better to save all custom settings in the custom settings file: conf/heat.properties
you'll need to copy this file to the conf folder each time you upgrade HEAT.

Please perform mandatory upgrade to 1.0.0-b1! Earlier versions are blacklisted.

...

What does "weight" actually mean in the HEAT network?
If it's the same as for NXT, then why does it matter for rewards?

Does a weight above 0 mean (prove?) that someone is running more than 1 node?
Because I set "100" as weight when creating the Hallmark for my Node, but in the nodes list (API) it shows 0.

Weight: A weighting value for your node.
If you only operate one node, the value doesn't matter... but if you operate multiple nodes, you can use this value to set a relative "weight" for each node.  The network will "sum" all of the weights for your hallmarked node, and use the ratios of those weights to determine how much traffic each one can bear.
