Quick question: Is there a way to mine ETC without downloading Vitalium blockchain?

All you need for mining is a pool and an address (unless you want solo but that's another story). You can generate an address with any Ethereum tools - even e.g. MyEtherWallet if you trust it - but to spend the coins you will need to broadcast the TX to the ETC chain. I don't know if there is an easy way to do it without installing and syncing your own client. Technically it should be possible though.

Another option is to use an exchange address but some posters earlier in this thread didn't like this suggestion.

I have to admit pool results overnight are pretty disappointing.  I will let my miners keep cranking for a full 24hrs and if the results don't improve then I will have to move back over to the HF coin... Sad  If there is a pool that is getting decent results please do share.  So far it isn't panning out so well.

I would trust OCminers pool.
The other pools mentioned here has been accused of all kinds of stuff since the start of this thread.

For the next 24 h the fee on Coin Miners pool will be 0% due to the last night problem.

Thanks for the gesture but i wont waste another nights hash on nothing , as everyone is reporting similar results but your pool was finding blocks at roughly 2-3 a minute i guess you have a shit load of ETC right now .. nice

This is the software people were running last week, DAO theft and all, and it was worth over a billion. Nothing changed except who is using it. ETC is the new name for what we were calling ETH last week.

All that actually happened here was that a new fork was created based on an earlier state of the ledger and a significant group that includes main devs, miners and investors left to follow that new creation. They were also backed by strong voting majority, but in a very low turnout vote.

What we are seeing is price discovery for ethereum without its previous big investors or devs. They brought ETH over 1 billion in the first place...BUT...the spite money will be hard to predict. There are a lot of rich BTC and other alt coin supporters who are in competition and would like to see the ETH devs and their investors fail.

I'm integrating claymore's stratum protocol along with nicehash currently, will be ready soon.

This is not true , you must have a balance of 1 ETC on poloniex for any transaction to show, not the amount you send must be 1 ETC, if your balance IS +1 ETC on poloniex any amount you send will go through ok , just a fyi

something is also wrong with the pools ethc.coin-miners.info i mined 100mh/s for 6 hours straight , system says 0.23 earned and paid out , it did not arrive , and http://ethc.epool.io/ mined with 70 mh/s for 12+ hours , hardly earned anything and still no payout on pending balance ( its been pending 2 days ) supposed to be once a day payout.

are you sure?.. i have a slow miner running in a vps using minergate, and every payment it sends to my poloniex wallet is only available when reaches 1 eth.
