If YOU own your byteball, then you get the 10%. If the exchange owns the byteball, then they get the 10%. Some exchanges may give you that 10% or partial or none.
Just because the byteball you believe you own are in the exchange doesn't mean they belong to you. Withdraw it to your own wallet that YOU control and that then means you own it and you get the bonus.
The bytes or other tokens held in your exchange wallets do in fact belong to you, legally. You don't hold the private keys, but they still legally belong to you. It's exactly the same as fiat in your bank account. Whether or not the exchange does the right thing with respect to the distros and gives you the additional tokens is another matter. It's definitely unethical for them to keep the distribution for themselves, but the legal side of it has yet to be nailed down. You should keep your crypto in your own wallets, or put differently, make sure you have the private keys to your crypto as much as possible. But don't let anyone tell you you don't own the tokens you hold in an exchange. You most certainly do.

Nothing is an incentive to convert BTC to any altcoin. That's like stabbing yourself in the foot. I'd rather want an direct fiat option to buy GB.
This statement has no actual basis in fact. Yes BTC came first. Yes it's the current market leader. Yes it's the closest to being considered an actual currency. However we're dealing in technology here. It's highly likely that many "alts" will outperform BTC from this point forward. Many smart people intend to profit in this way.

Surprised byteball trading thus low, almost the same price after 1st airdrop dump. Did people lose confidence on this coin? I think it has pretty good tech behind it.

The whales (mostly BTC whales, who tend to be BTC maximalists) control the price, and a few factors seem to have contributed to the massive drop: - Back to back 20% distros
- Reaching the 2nd half of the distros where more than half the tokens are already in circulation, meaning the "interest" potential of held bytes is disappearing quickly
- A few technical problems / outages recently
- The BTC fork creating additional demand for BTC due to the "free" BCH and scaling potential supporting a higher BTC price
- The post-fork BTC pump creating the (likely) illusion that BTC price is unbounded
Believers in Byteball are using this lull as an opportunity to accumulate more bytes. In my opinion, this project has an extremely bright future, and the price has nothing to do with it.

Bittrex doesn't keep it for themselves. The Bytes stay on your deposit address, until someone withdraws and they need your Bytes. That's how I got an airdrop last time in Bittrex: my deposit address still held Bytes. Even though I don't own the Bytes in that address (Bittrex does!), the address is linked to my account. So when the airdrop hit that address with 20%, I got the Bytes in my account.

That's interesting but a really really bad idea for Bittrex to be letting that happen.
Lawsuits could be incoming, particularly if Byteball continues to succeed.
Thanks for sharing.
EDIT: Also, until Bittrex provides an audit of their holdings, there's no way to know for sure that they're not retaining some of the distribution.
EDIT #2: It's also opening up a strategy like this: Deposit your bytes to Bittrex before the distro and immediately sell for BTC. Then withdraw the BTC and buy back your bytes, potentially receiving a double distribution on your base amount.

You really don't see GB surpassing $1.5K in the next 5 years?
That wouldn't mirror the 10k BTC for two pizzas. Oh, I didn't notice the price he bought it in GB. Hasn't Bitfinex stopped acceepting US residents? Maybe the number of ByteBallers in the US is insignificant but I doubt it.
It has, but that doesn't really matter. OK then. It's just that Bittrex is already a pretty big exchange and, based on most new coins I've seen advertised on this forum, where they aspire to end up on. That aside, shouldn't the 10% reduction in GB received for linking BTC addresses in the upcoming airdrop be enough incentive for people to convert their BTC to GB?
Nothing is an incentive to convert BTC to any altcoin. That's like stabbing yourself in the foot. To each their own then. I'd rather want an direct fiat option to buy GB. Well there is an option and I believe it's been there for quite a while, it's just ~47% more expensive than on Bittrex. BTW, that's the price excluding fees.

I don't know where you live. But here in 'merka, as soon as you deposit fiat in your account, it becomes property of the bank. Of course, you are compensated with a lovely IOU.

Do you have any proof of this or is it just an implicit anarchist truth? I'm all for anarchy myself, but reality is something different entirely.

The price stayed suprisingly long at this low level. Really nice to grab some gbytes. I hope the mobile wallet gets the function to import seeds soon. Really good feature to move between different devices and plattforms. I know the export function exists, seeds would be more convienient though

Create New Crypto on Byteball platformI see the possibility to create arbitrary assets in the documentation... anyone actually try to create a new crypto and post the results? Byteball RebrandNo offense, but +1 on this. Wallet APIThe headless wallet is a thing of beauty. Are there any working wrappers? Maybe examples of it being deployed in rkt or docker for additional security, etc?

Yes this could be a good opportunity to buy. The tech of the byteball is very promising, and when people realize it the price may go to moon.

Hey Guys,
I'm new in cryptocurrencies, but following this forum for some months.
I’m from Germany and really interested in using Byteball as payment for erveryday things.
Because I’ve the possibility to create T-shirts, Caps and stuff like this, I had the idea to create a small homepage or chatbot, to offer them.
I’ve already designed some samples with different versions of the Byteball-logo, etc… which I could send you per PM.
For these project I’m looking for support/partnership by creating the chatbot/homepage and generally people, who know about web development, shipping conditions and other useful stuff, like what would be the next steps, etc...
Many Thanks to s1lverbox, who gave me the first feedback and support.
Best regards

I am very glad byteball become a ICO plantfrom, the bank.one is the first ICO on the byteball plantform,i think tony the first task is made byteball to easy press token in this way, byteball price will to da moon
Can anyone confirm that an ICO is happening on Byteball?? Would be great news and really showcase the potential it has a multi-purpose network I am not sure if there is an ico on byteball , but it says IOTA and Byteball . but I assume theya re using byteball to do the ico lookoks like it I found some project called Nemesis, and they say they will be using Byteball to create an intelligent bot, but I haven't studied to know if it's a viable project. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2101590.0It is a very interesting project and the circulation of the Nemesis tokens will be governed by the Byteball network. Their bot will work on several platforms including the Byteball wallet, Telegram and Slack. They have a telegram group if anyone is interested: t.me/joinchat/AbX3K0MOee_YoDf2pwUwLQ

There are still opinions about the prospects? Will there be a damp after September 6?
