No, you will automatically get the byteballs distributed in the next air drop. However, if you want the free blackbytes, you need to ensure that the byteballs are on a linked byteball address. Should be simple enough, though.

@ChainSmoker Think of Blackbytes as a post-it handed to you by the previous owner. The post-it says: "ChainSmoker is now the new owner". Together with handing you the post-it, the DAG registers that the previous owner is no longer the owner of these Blackbytes. The DAG does not register that you received the post-it. Now, if you lose this post-it, the previous owner can simply give you another post-it that says: "ChainSmoker is now the new owner". *If you want to give your Blackbytes to someone else, your post-it contains all the information you need to create a new valid post-it for the receiving user, and to register the change of ownership in the DAG. I think giving Tonych your address (and asking politely) is enough. Resending means sending the same transaction again, you'll receive the exact same Blackbytes again. The sending wallet can click "re-send private payloads" from the transaction history: I really recommend to try the features Byteball has, create another wallet and send some money around. * Comment needed on this analogy: does it help explain how Blackbytes work? Very good analogy!

Thanks Talk to the bot ("hi") I talked with the transition boot I typed my bytealladress and the boot said to me : " Got it, your Byteball address is ETZ........ Now you need to prove your Bitcoin address. To do that, please send 0.001434 BTC to 17wV7vBoBaSmyxATrsJ6UhwMopfAY4qc8t from a wallet where you control the private keys (no exchange wallets, no Coinbase, no Xapo, etc). This micropayment is nonrefundable. Alternatively, you can prove ownership of your Bitcoin address by signing your Byteball address ETZ........ if your Bitcoin wallet has "Sign message" function. In this case, let me know your Bitcoin address first. Hello again! In our previous conversation, I asked you to send 0.001434 BTC to my Bitcoin address 17wV7vBoBaSmyxATrsJ6UhwMopfAY4qc8t. Still waiting for your micropayment, it'll allow you to receive your bytes at the address ETZ........ from Byteball distribution. " Is it mandatory to send 0.001434 BTC to the adress above in order to get the free blackbyte ? I don't have any bitcoin balance nor any bitcoin wallet. Thanks

Could someone explain how to backup black bytes in the Windows wallet?
Your whole wallet is backed up using the menu function (upper left button) on the small expenses wallet page. Then click settings>full backup>set up a password>repeat the password>export (indicate where you would like the backup located.) Don't know if this answers your question or not... If this ensures that also my black bytes are backupped, yes. Thanks. I understand that the process must be repeated each time that new blackbytes are received (e.g., after each airdrop). Yes, the black bytes are included. Just make sure the location of the backup is to another drive or usb stick, but you probably know this already. Don't know if it is a requirement to backup after every airdrop, but I do anyways - it is just once a month. Had to restore my wallet when I changed hard drives, and it worked for me. Kudos to the development team for making it so easy.

No you need to sign the address which while it will not require a bitcoin balance it will require a wallet. Good Luck.

No you need to sign the address which while it will not require a bitcoin balance it will require a wallet. Good Luck. I recommend to install Electrum (for desktop) or Mycelium (for Android) to do this. Both support signing messages and like wry wrote, you don't have to own any Bitcoins for that.

I had around 5BTC staked on my old byteball account. Yesterday I upgraded to Android O and lost all my apps (Which I assumed was fine, because from previous experience my byteball addresses were the same ones when I reinstalled the app)
But now, I have reinstalled the app and finished syncing, but my addresses didn't come up. I had around three rounds of blackbytes stored in that wallet, so is there any way to get them back?

[reminder] Beware of change addresses in your BTC wallet AND in your byteball wallet for the next distribution round!Byteball distribution companion helps you. Is you address properly linked? Is your linked BTC balance what you expected? Are all your bytes on your byteball linked address? How much will you receive? +Bookmark. Once distribution has started you can follow in near real time when bytes arrive in your wallet. Enjoy!

Looks like you did a complete wipe and install of the OS. Meaning, all the data is gone. Same goes for byteball data. Hopefully you have a full backup or at least a backup of the seed. With a full backup, you can restore everything. With a seed backup, you can restore the GB (not GBB).

As some people know I was doing an analysis of Byteball. They were asking me for the results. I'm almost ready to publish the report, but I need two questions to be answered for that:
1. Is Byteball a decentralized cryptocurrency? 2. If it's decentralized then what definition of "decentralized" is used?

how about since next round we have 30% to byteball holder?it's more fair to byteball holder, seems a lot exchange address have linked with byteball.. that free byteball will drive the price went down. Its more important to make less amount for bitcoin wallets. yes? i think more free byteball for bitcoin Address already drive the price went down. the reasonable price of byteball is 1000$-1500$ per GB.. because byteball almost have same features as IOTA.

Market is looking very stable without any manipulation like last few rounds when in similar period extreme changes were seen. This is effect of cutting off large free coins based on Bitcoin holdings. Market will keep growing naturally but with more stability which is good for long term benefits. Byteball has cool features which needs to see adaption and value will come.
