Michail/ChainSmoker: can you explain how you recovered it?

There are several places in the DB where the data is stored.
Clearing the syncing private is easy to change, but simply deleting isn't enough in case there may actually be payments waiting.
As for the sending with error, it may be trying to combine with a bad item.  So, you can try changing the amount you're sending and the app may not include the bad entry.

In ChainSmoker's case, I had to adjust the DB through trial and error to figure out which entry was causing the problem.  This is how I was able to move out all the GBB except for the single entry.  It's unfortunate that that single entry was made up of the larger 3.47 (actually 3,478,700,000 blackbytes).

Take note that I did not charge anything.  It was only for my personal learning experience.  I could have made things worse.  In this instance, I was not able to recover everything; however, 14GBB out of 17.4GBB wasn't terrible.  It's better than having 0GBB.  Smiley    ChainSmoker obviously had to trust me with his wallet.

Oh yeah, there was an added confusion when he sent me a backup that was prior to the issue and prior to him having sent out some GB causing an issue with the wallet not knowing of a change address, but that was quickly determined.

You're welcome to send me your wallet.   Wink

ByteBall backup 2.6 GB right now
Not bad for one year of existence.

You must mean compressed full node backup.  Actually, my full node (synced) in a zip file is under 2GB.

The DB is over 8GB now.
But, a lite client is under 40mb depending on the number of transactions.

Does the Byteball wallet need to be updated? I've been told that it does but the version I'm using (which is the very first one) appears to be working fine for me at the moment...

1.10.1 is the latest.

Many issues resolved over the last few versions.  Like backups, syncing, DB issues.
I find it hard to believe you're working with the first version.

could you please post the link to this version of the wallet?

The beginning of a new era.

Hi, when binding the bitcoin of the purse to the byteball, the bot wrote to me that the binding was successful and I have 0 btc on my wallet. But I have about 0.01 btc on my wallet. The electrum pocket. Maybe the fact is that ten minutes before tying to the bytball, I transferred bitcoins from the exchange to electrum?

This is because you linked via a TX.
When you made the mircotransaction, your wallet moved the rest of your bitcoin to a change address.  So, it's no longer in the address you linked.

To resolve this, you can send your bitcoin back to the address you sent it from.

Or, better is to SIGN from the address it is in now.

Think of your wallet like a real wallet.  You nave multiple pouches.  So, although you have .1BTC, it would be split up between different pouches within your wallet.  You're only look at the balance of your entire wallet instead of the particular pouches it contains.

The recent price is like a waterfall, following this project, from seed, to the top of the mountain, and now to the bottom of the mountain, and never abandon you

Exact like me.

I have just registered to share this idea: last X TB of distribution entirely given to bytes which have not been moved since 25th Dec (excluding lisk and iconomi wallets). Or since distribution date.

How many bytes have not been moved since then?

The novelty of Byteball was attractive during the last altcoin season in July, thus, the strong rally. But now GBYTE has return to its previous trendline. Look ath the GBYTEUSD pair and you'll see.

The tech behind byteball is super cool and I am sure it will make a great come back once the distribution is over. Moreover there will only be 1Million GBYTE for the market to play with

When I make a conditional payment - is there a way to share or make public it's conditions?

For example I need to share with somebody or prove that we agreed in p2p betting - out bets, amount and for what we are betting. DAG explorer will only show transaction if it occurs but not conditions. Wallet screenshot with payment conditions if not enough.

Yes, the airdrop and the hype which was prevailing around Byteball at that time resulted in a huge increase in price. The price dropped at the same time the airdrop amount was decreased. Now we will see the price slowly increasing, but it won't go up drastically,

how complex can byteball contracts be?

im wanting to do something like
- have 4 people pay x to address y
- 2 people win so release from address y z amounts of funds each.

can byteball contracts do this from 1 address or would i neec to do multiple addresses in pairs of 2 to release?

im thinking more team sports where team a plays b. each pays but release to winning team individually from contract address. so its all on chain not site controlled to prevent thefts etc.

can tonych comment?

it's a shame the next distribution will be cut to 1/10th of the usual (previous) distribution rates
if preventing people from dumping GB coins by lowering distribution rates, there could be another way
I propose the distribution rates based on coinday weight,
the amount BTC/GB * time in that address since last distribution * multiplier
multiplier for GB should be 2x/3x higher than that for BTC

so basically similar to how bank calculate interest rate on savings account
the longer it stays in that address the bigger the interest will be rewarded
in our case the interest here would be rewards in GB distribution
this would somehow make exchangers get less because they tend to move their BTC constantly
it is easy for me to say, but probably hard or would require a lot of compute time
