1. How secure is the chat? I've read that it is encrypted, but can someone explain to me how that is done? Especially with chatpartners on different hubs. Can the hub read the messages or even decide that chats are not encrypted? I mean they could change the code before they open the gates, without people realizing it. And what kind of encryption is used?
It's end-to-end encrypted using AES. The hubs only forward the encrypted messages, they can't see anything. To deliver your message, your wallet connects to the recipient's hub (if it's different from your home hub). The encryption keys are constantly rotated for perfect forward secrecy. This has a side effect that if you restore from an old backup or try to use the same wallet on two devices (which rotate the keys independently), the keys get out of sync and your wallet can't decrypt a received message. This is one of the common reasons for not receiving blackbytes, which are delivered through chat messages. That's great I would say. I'm using the chat like a real one. Whatsapp sucks If a lot of people would use Byteball to chat, wouldn't that give a huge load on the hubs? That would make running hubs expensive, while it doesn't earn anything from relaying chat messages. Maybe after we attract more users, we can charge advertising?

I would feel more than happy paying a chat service which is truly secure and encrypted end-to-end. I would be even happier considering that Byteball and its wallet are becoming a fully working economic system which only needs a larger user base to really take off. Paying for such a service would not be a problem. If we want it free we can always sell ourselves to Facebook and WhatsApp.

It would be an issue for messages with pictures or video but that's not the case, chat with text only is a negligible traffic.

Can someone explain possibly why I didn't receive the amount I was quoted to receive on the last airdrop? All the other drops I haven't had any issues. I did link a new btc address this past drop but since being quoted by the chat bot I haven't moved any coins out of it.
I received half of the quoted amount in GB, but I did receive the full amount in blackbytes for the byteball I had in my byteball wallet.

The ratio of GB was changed from 0.2 to 0.1 last time around.THat would explain half the amount you recieved. You may need to upgrade your wallet to see the correct amount you are going to get next time.

Cause you move half of the bytes to a different address prior to the drop? No way for someone to really know or guess since you provided no information. Like.... What did the bot quote you and what address are you talking about? is the airdrop method for Byteball is still same ? before it was that we need to hold a bitcoin in a certain address
Still the same as what/when? No, things changed. You can see the changes in the Original Post or byteball.org or the wiki, etc. As for bitcoin holding, you are talking about a link of your byteball address to a bitcoin address. You got an amount of byteball based on your bitcoin holdings. Also, you got a bonus on the byteball you already had. This has not changed; however, the relative percentage has changed.

The error message shown when I try to move blackbytes from one of my wallets to another is the following: precommit callback failed: XXXXXXXXXXX conflicting spend proof in inner unit YYYYYYYYYYPlease tell me whats the reason of this and the way to solve that issue. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance It's possible/likely that some of your inputs have already been spent. You might recall a prior error you had when sending an amount beforehand. Try sending smaller/different amounts to get out as much as you can. Several other reasons this could have happened as well. There isn't a simply 'press-button-fix' for the various reasons. All that said, you can send me a backup of the wallet, and I can try to recover GBB for you. I've done this for others already. In worse case, you can't recover anymore, but I can assure you that you will not get everything the wallet shows, since it's a misrepresentation of what you actually have left. Also, since you're already moving your funds to another wallet, there is no fear of giving me your wallet. (Of course there has to be 'some' bytes to pay transfer fees of the blackbytes though.) If you sent, but the other wallet didn't receive, you can re-send the private package as well (although this doesn't fix your wallet). PM me if you want to try.

I don't know how up to date you are with the current rules for the airdrop. Have a look at Tony's message below. He explains everything in there. There's no airdrop in October, but from November onwards it's back to normal I think. The 10th round will be on the Full Moon of November (November 4, 2017 at 05:23 UTC), and the rules stay the same: BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 6.25 MB (0.00625 GB) BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 6.25 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes) Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes
Putting this another way, to receive 1 GB from the distribution, you need to already hold 160 BTC or 10 GB. These same holdings also give you 2.1111 GBB (giga-blackbyte).
