Big news for BTC and ETH (China bans ICO, not clear details yet if they just ban local ICO or something bigger). I wonder how these news will affect byteball.
China banned Bitcoin iself many times and, as far as I know, nothing happened. But I could agree that maybe ICO banning could be different since most of the times ICO proponents are public, hence we could see less ICOs around China. Anyway, this news should not negatively reflect on byteball even if Byteball can be seen as an ICO-friendly platform. Let's think about September 6th, that's more important According to this, Byteball could still be seen as a friendly platform for regulated assets: - snip -
Regulated assets
Regulated institutions can issue assets that are compatible with KYC/AML requirements. Every transfer of such asset is to be cosigned by the issuer, and if there is anything that contradicts the regulations, the issuer won't cosign.
This way, banks can issue fiat-pegged assets and stay fully compliant. They can open demand deposit accounts and track them on Byteball as assets. These assets are easily exchangeable against bytes and other assets (with bank’s approval).

Hello... I am rather new to this delightful coin.
Two questions...
To receive the 0.1 new byte for each 1 byte you already hold... does my wallet need to be linked?
I only hold .28 BTC doesn't seem worth sending the transaction to receive the blackbytes. Am i wrong?
Kind regards -K

Better link the BTC address otherwise you won't get the blackbytes you deserve for the bytes you own. You don't need to send a transaction, you can just sign a message.

The bot needs to know it's yours. However, as you note, that amount, which when byteball started was not that much, is now a much more significant amount of money. You are MUCH better off just simply using your wallet to SIGN your address rather than sending the payment. Good Luck!

Guys, what are your prediction for this Airdrop, since the reward is not very high for bitcoin holders but it's great for Byteball holders like me. Will the price of byteball incerase or decrease because of this airdrop? I'm thinking to sell some exchanging to bitcoin but don't know where is the best time, any?
and so around 11% increase in distribution from this airdrop right? what are your price predictions 1 day before drop and 1 day after drop? is the pre-airdrop pump coming?
Asking the public? Public is normally wrong. Flipping a coin might make a better prediction. The dump has already started and it's nowhere near from the real price of Byteball, neither in bitcoin (exchange rate) nor in fiat (I remember when the price was $700 or more), now the value of byteball is really low even though I've invested a lot (for me) and holding for this airdrop, but it doesn't mean that I will hold like bitcoin because I think to move to another one or get back to bitcoin.

You don't need to do that. You can alternatively sign your byteball address with a BTC address inside the BTC wallet to prove ownership. Look for precise instruction either chatting with the transition bot or at https://wiki.byteball.org/

I always get this crap when I launch byteball, anyone has any ideas? I had a newer version of NW.js but I removed it and I still see this. I am using the latest version (1.10.1).

Yes, in this crypto scenario of blood in the streets it is amazing to see how Byteball was completely unaffected. Perhaps the bottom is in.

In this next airdrop, 1 BTC of proven balance will pay you 0.00625 GB. Market price for 1 GB is currently $346.91: $346.91 * 0.00625 = $2.17 So not a lot for 1 BTC anymore.

how many bitcoins are now tied? I think it should be much less than last time
Total linked bitcoins consistently increasing in every distribution round. Expect it will be more than the previous round. However, bitcoin to byte conversion will be drastically limited. Hmm but this is the first time that people are getting 10% of what they used to. If there is more it will be only a a small amount more. The market hasn't recovered this time either like previous times. There wont be many people rushing to dumping this time around either. I should imagine 10% will create more hodlers. The airdrops have become a complete distraction... Instead of building a serious, useful ecosystem... 90% of the posts are about FREE SHIT and airdrop issues. No wonder the price has TANKED... after almost one year there is no seeming end to the airdrop orgy BTC has become far too valuable to be moved around for trivial reasons.

I love this wallet... some neat little apps built in, when this is available on my iphone i'll be thrilled... this zork game is amazing! This coin really doesn't have enough love...even though the coin has value... it isn't nearly what it should be.
I am new to the coin, and although i love the project... i really would love to know how long it takes to see the full moon dividends... nothing has materialized yet!
I have actually bought Zer0Sum... and never received the initial drops for free like many. The full moon shares are an incredible concept, and I am looking forward to the transition after the distributions are over!

Any fundamental changed? the dev team seems ok, technology seems ok, I don't get why price is low, there must be something some people know and we dont.

Don't think so. People are just distracted by marketing and buzzwords you don't see here. My experience teached me to have faith in promising projects and just hold

The way this airdrop is arranged creates a lot of opportunity for gaming it. The price is gonna jump around a lot cause of that. Also do you know anyone that uses byteball for any kind of real payment? Byteball is a prototype and has no real world use right now. It's all speculation. Maybe it will have some real world use cases, or maybe some thing else will come along which makes it obsolete before it has any chance to be useful. If you are betting a lot (what ever that means to you) on the price of a coin like this, you are probably doing something wrong.
