To grow by marketing the chat features, it would need to have an easy way to invite others. That's how any popular messenger has been able to grow fast.
And that brings me to the next question: who's going to pay for chat servers if this becomes popular?

There have been more than a 1000 pages of posts on Byteball, but the price has moved in the opposite direction. I do believe we have bottomed out, but we need to do more for the price to recover. There has been a lot of development, but not enough marketing. The giveaways tend to depress the price, rather than proving a boost to marketing.

Byteballer expect more volatility.

Inflation rate of byteball is variable, it depends on the usd price, the lower the price in dollar the more gbytes is donated to wcg people, steemer, Milan touris, kwc, etc. So the amount of byte donated is unpredictable, because the price is umpredictable, then inflation is predictablely unpredictable.

Unliquidity make it more more volatil, which is the most import problem to solve for a real mass adoption.

Speculators are the only kind of users despised by Byteball. Speculators make a coin less volatile.

Byteball foundation will NEVER be airdropping bytes to exchange users (althrough it would be a good move to get more users aware of Byteball), because among them are the personified evil: speculators which only cares about profits.
The reality is: Byteball foundation should not care what users do with their money. But it cares, they don´t treat all users/new users fairly as stated before.

Is that really true? Can you give examples where Byteball leadership or foundation is talking negative about speculators/investors?

I do remember one tweet made by Byteball.org twitter that looked down on speculators/investors but that is small offence for the many offences (short term) speculators/investors have made in Byteball community, bitching and whining about everything that needs be changed, often promoting things that are good in short term but add little or are sometimes bad in long term (like airdrops to byteball holders, more exchange quotations, change name, etc), while doing nothing themselves for the project.

Some resentment and lashing out from active members is to be expected. That does not mean leadership is not supportive of investors. I have been a big investor, but also feel valued by the leadership, foundation and active members. Ofcourse I also add value in other ways than just allocating capital, which probably explains why they value me.

But I do agree with you that it is very important for the leadership to respect and value speculators/investors that only allocate capital, however the best way to do this is not with nice words about investors or let them lead the project, but with good management of the project that usually means decisions that are sometimes painful in short term but profitable in long term, like cancelling the airdrops, not wasting money on exchange quotations or rebrandings that all add little real users to the project etc.

Byteball foundation never said that directly. But I undestand that as their position. Never did any for investors/holders, because they think they don't add value.

I agree. But you have to agree to me: investors/holders add value to a project: reduced volatility, increased liquidity.
It is hilarious: an awesome platform with a coin which simply can't sell or buy without a 10% price move. Not true if you only want to exchange 0.1 btc, of course.

How many bytes are you holding currently?

So... spending money on ONE liquid exchange listing (I am not saying 60) is useless??

Luckily for us, there are another ways which cost exactly 0 undistributed funds to try: binance community voting. Why not give it a try?

I would have liked to register @Loyce to receive payments, but isn't 10 GB ($566) a bit much for this gimmick?
For publicity, could you at least make much longer usernames a lot cheaper? Say @PayLoyceV for 1 MB instead of the current 1 GB?

It's also a way of showing appreciation for the project since the raised funds go towards the community fund. Like a donation but with the added benefit of a vanity address. Life long cryptographic proof of username which makes interacting on the network much more user friendly is worth a lot to me. I'm sure many interesting services can be built on top of this feature, like linking your BTC or ETH address or your patreon account. Content platforms or chatbots can integrate it and since the BB wallet can already be used as a "key" to any website, this now can contain identity information and public username as well to be used on the website. Lots of possibilities!

As a merchant, I would give each client a different address. If they all use the same address, you can't keep track of who's paying you.

It's also a way of showing appreciation for the project since the raised funds go towards the community fund. Like a donation but with the added benefit of a vanity address.
You make valid points, if you want to donate to the project, it's a good way to do so.
I was more thinking about using this for publicity: it would be very nice to be able to say: "In Byteball, you don't need to remember my long address, just remember: @PayLoyceV.
For that to happen, it should have a price that many people are willing to pay.

A very interesting coin. I really liked the design of their application, also liked their technology. I think soon this coin will be in the top 50.
