Can anyone explain why my ancient 7950 is getting the same solutions rate as RX 470s?
Just read the previous 2-3 pages. It has already been explained.
Went back a few pages and through some in the middle of the thread, found nothing but benchmarks

Generally speaking the memory freq's are higher on r9 2xx cards, ie 280x 384 bit GDDR5 - rx480 256 bit GDDR5. Equihash is probably quite sensitive to memory freq's
I clock my RX 470s memory up to 1950 no problem, my 7950s will crash at 1500 and 280x's at 1600. it has to be something other than just frequency

Well, Given a 290/290x has a 512bit memory freq and hashes around 55-58 sol's it kind of shows mem freq's are important for this algo. I suspect within 3-4 weeks optimisations will be made to speed up newer cards (Though as an owner of 40+ 280x's, I hope not Cheesy lol )

So when there was limited supply the demand was at 5k per Zec coin. According to polo there is less than 1k coins on the market, if miners continue to dump zec as soon as they get em, everyone will turn back to ETH and the difficulty will rise for ETH again. What to do what to do...

I'm not able to get my Sapphire Nitro 4gb RX 470 to hash faster than 32sol/s

I've tried tweaking the clock and memory speed, running win7 64bit and latest crimson.  Can anyone give advice?  I will try flashing the bios next, but I'm curious what others are doing that I'm not.  I see some people getting 40-45 and I'd like to see their bat files if possible.

EDIT:  I'm also wondering what is the best value right now, is it the RX 470 4gb, the RX 480 4gb, or the RX 480 8GB.  It kind of looks like the 470 is the winner for dollars vs hashrate vs electricity consumption?  Are they good for mining Ethereum also?

Before that I used genoil and as seen in the graphic complexity grew and increased payments per day, which I do not see your miner.

Great job!

All that shows is that either more hash joined the pool so your share of the rewards was lowered or your actual speed dropped, Which is it? Because everyone elses went up...

I guess, most peepz is now dumping, the price still falling reaches 0.74BTC as of the moment. and difficulty is also increasing. effect of claymore's Best miner :-)

Yeah, I really do not know why people are so happy. Here is the effect of CZM (this miner): profitability dropped by 2. In fact this is the end of profits on ZEC. Maybe it is good for decentralization, but it is an absolute evil for those who wanted (and made) some money on this. Let me explain in some bogus numbers if you like.

Assume there were 3 players that generated 200, 300, 500 shares for 100 coins/day (10 shares per coin), they received 20 (200/10), 30 (300/10), 50 (500/10) ZEC coins. Assume 1 ZEC = 1 BTC. And they received 20, 30, 50 BTC/day.

Now they have doubled hash rate and generate 400, 600 and 1000 shares. Since number of coins per day is the same (difficulty jump up to ensure it), now we need 20 shares per coin. They still create 100 coins/day and should receive 20 (400/20), 30 (600/20), 50 (1000/20) coins. The same amount, but increased power consumption.

But now some lazy newbies started mining ZEC as well, and lot of old cards are now mining too. Let assume they added +20% of total shares. That is we decrease the ZEC profit by 20% and now receive 16, 24, 40 + new 20 percent of share for same 100 coins/day.

Also we all are rich now and start dumping. The price dropped by 25%, and now in BTC we have 20% less. If 1 ZEC was = 1 BTC, now it is 0.75 BTC, and instead of original 20, 30, 50 BTC/day we and newbies receive 12 (16*0.75), 18 (24*0.75), 30 (40*0.75) and 15 (20*0.75) BTC.

Was: 20, 30, 50
Now: 12, 18, 30  and 15
for new players who was waiting for this miner.

And yes, you should also subtract 2.5% fee from this amount.

Net result: 50% real profit loss. Numbers are not real, but the idea is the same. Do not know why people are so happy. I think only those who was not able to build a miner on Linux are now happy since they have come into the game. But good profitability is behind.

No bus speed is not clock frequency.

512 bit bus allow more bandwidth so with a narrower 256 bit bus you need higher clock speed on the memory to get the same bandwidth.  The 7950 has a bigger bus than the 470/480 so it probably allows enough throughput to match the speeds on the 470.  Either case the memory is still massively under utilized with my 290s sitting at 35% memory load.

Think of it like a watering hose.  You can either have a small hose with higher pressure flow, a larger hose with lower pressure but you end up with the same volume.

Half of my rigs crashed during the night while the automatic reboot didn't even work.
6 GPU rig of RX480 seems very unstable with claymore. It almost never happened with genoil ZEC miner.

I guess I must look into lowering voltage and clocks. They were all stock settings btw.

I have around 60-65~ Sol's with my computer.

For now just 1 470 4gb nitro 42-48~ with claymore

and a 6600k 18-19~ with nicehash

running both together stable.

Will get 24 GPU's soon... letz see how it will roll then Cheesy

I get from 80-100 H/s with Genoil.

I can not get this miner to work at all with Suprnova!

Code:
ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -zwal <miner.name> -zpsw <password> -allpools 1

This miner seems completely broken and started losing me money.  I get 0 H/s on Suprnova with this miner.

It's because you use -allpools 1, there is a bug, after the devfee, it won't restart mining = 0 H/S

Wait till bugfix or mine zcash directly.

Claymore will probably fix it today.

Anyone have optimized 380x settings to share? hmm

Current 380x gets me 28-30sol/s only.. Such a big difference between 280x and 380x?

The old cards will be unprofitable when 1 ZEC is 50usd unless you have free power, since they use from 100-150 watts mining this algo

Rx series use as low as 65 watts on a 470 and 80 watts on a 480 so they can hang in t here longer

The flaw with all your logic is that linux users have been seeing these speeds almost a week ago, the playfeild was not level , at some point windows users would have switched to linux and it would be the same net effect.

Its not as if the private miners and Linux users of SilentArmy are new to these speeds , call it normalization
