It's not completely irrelevant. But you absolutely CANNOT accurately use GPUz power draw to compare different cards because they all have different power characteristics. It's only good for doing apples to apples comparisons.

For example, mining Ethereum, I have RX480s that say 70~75w in  GPUz but this relates to more like 120w from the wall. So a 50w difference.

But my 290x, say around 130w in GPUz, but 200w from the wall, that's a 70w difference.

Basically, you have almost no way of telling actual power draw from the wall with GPUz, it's just a guessing game. And power draw from the wall is what actually counts.

And why do you need 2 x 850w PSU to power 6 x RX480? Even mining Ethereum at 180mh/s my 6 x RX480 only pull 810w, from the wall. You certainly don't need it for ZCash, I'm not even pulling 600w from the wall.

Ok, I agree with you. I know it's not an accurate measurement. But it's a good indicator to compare different settings for the same cards.

The two 850 PSUs were a vital component when my rigs were a mix of 270x + 7850 +7970

A lot of rejects about 2% of shares. Will it be fixed in next update? my pool is coinmine maybe is`s pool problems wiht this miner.

IF anyone has any Cayman GPUs (6970,6990) you can mine with them on Claymore ETH miner however you need to start mining with another GPU that has at least has 3GB and then disable that GPU once mining starts. Since we can't use Cayman for ZEC currently.

Not necessarily, but I'd have thought 470 should pull a little less. It all depends on the voltage you supply the GPU.

Simply put, do what you can, use a BIOS mod, MSI AB or Wattman to drop GPU voltage as low as it'll go and remain stable. I find for mining Eth and ZCash I can drop GPU core voltage as low as 0.88v and still remain stable with 1125/2150 clock speeds. This gives 29.7mh/s in Eth and around 46~52 h/s for ZCash

Mine went from 43 Sol/s --->  52 Sol/s. Running at 1100 / 1575

When I use a "config.txt" the gpu clock speeds do not show up on miner when it starts  does anyone else see this ?

We're still not sure the PCIe bandwidth is a limiting factor, though it did appear to be a possibility with Genoil's miner. Genoil's miner was very CPU hungry too though. My Celeron and Pentium chips would be at 40% CPU load with Genoil miner, with Claymore miner they're in low single digits CPU usage. But certainly claymore's miner is much quicker for me on my 6 and 7 card rigs.

I'm getting almost twice the hashrate with my 7x 290x rig.

Oh I am sure the bandwidth was a factor. I had a 4x 480 with Athlon II X2 using PCIe 1x extenders.

Yes, I noticed the same. But only with Genoil miner it seems and probably something to do with the much higher CPU usage. So I'm not sure it's a limiting factor anymore.
