Since the election of Trump to the new US President yesterday, many questions about Bitcoin arise.

Will he promote Bitcoin and make it a breakthrough? Will he even officially ban Bitcoin? Will he make such a bad economic (and monetary) policy that Bitcoin will be seen as an alternative for many?

What do you think, what will a President Trump mean for Bitcoin?

I think that he doesn't have any opinion about Bitcoin and just doesn't care. The question is has he even heard of it. He made his fortune on different way and that is what bothers him.
Don't think that the fact he's been elected will influence Bitcoin in good or bad way.

I doubt trump will bother much with bitcoin.  He's a good business man and not a dictator why would he ban bitcoin.  Even if Trump banned bitcoin on the US, the rest of the world will just carry on using it.  Grin

Having trump as a president means nothing in bitcoin. It will just continue to operate as how it operates like trump never win. Trump will just affect bitcoin if he made a law that bans bitcoin's use in USA or he support bitcoin and advertise it to the US Citizens. This two is the only 2 of three possible things that trump might do to affect bitcoin's daily use and its price.

Of course as long as people re happy and having an opportunity to earn I think he will leave it as it is. Besides most users I think is from US,it creates opportunity to its people also.

In the short term, bitcoin will get pumped because there will be lots of migrants who will leave the USA. Migrants will turn their wealth into bitcoin and carry their shit to their new country without a single problem.

In the long term, when everything becomes stable, bitcoin will be needed no more and its price will go down. Because there won't be wwiii, the threat is over. USA people made the right choice by electing Trump.

I'm not really sure, because Trump is good at business so he must have known that Bitcoin is a good thing for the economy. But seeing that he's a now a government, I don't think it'd be good for Bitcoin if Trump meddling with this.

But anyway, I just found this article
Donald Trump Presidency Could Be a Boost to Bitcoin

I don't think Trump would even mention Bitcoin or impose any additional regulations regarding it.
But we could see a sudden increase in value, just like gold did after he got elected.

Honestly, nothing much can be said until we see if he imposes any kind of restriction or instills Bitcoin or blockchain based businesses. I'm sure there are many who would consider him to be stringent and direct in the way he speaks and probably he seems to be the type who would like to impose control on many things. He spoke about removal of NAFTA and building a wall across Mexico which by itself determines that he may be very firm on control. But, there was nothing spoken by him about Blockchain technology or banking related to Blockchain in the US. So I'm not sure if he'd put in efforts to promote Blockchain based innovation and businesses as well.

Trump doesn't even probably know what bitcoin is. I have heard that Trump is a troglodyte when it comes to computers and he doesn't even use them. This has a positive: you can't make mistakes that can cost you an election like Hillary using the gov emails for private stuff, what an idiot.

Anyway, I think he will even bother unless the marketcap starts going 100+billion.

I guess is that the effect of Trump on bitcoin will be indirect. He will most likely focus on other businesses. However, the level of uncertainty is definitely high!

Several factors can affect Bitcoin's price but that is not including Trump being a president, although he can execute an Executive Order for Banning Bitcoin it would have little effect on it, as they will have a hard time for identifying the owner of that bitcoin address. Also take a look at other countries that ban bitcoin, yet the citizens there still manage to use bitcoin.

i am not really following US politics and all their crap but i have been hearing that he might even be for bitcoin and actually it can be helpful for the adoption of bitcoin and finally recognition of it as a real currency which is not just a black-market-money as sometimes media shows it.

In my opinion bitcoin prices could be affected by election of Trump if he makes any movement to china economic relations. This could affect the yuan prices, and bitcoin moves up when the yuan decreases against the dollar.

Actually not many have thought trump will win this election.

Many have speculated that Trump will support bitcoin and blockchain based startups but he have to announce something related to bitcoin support officially after he become president.

I don't think he will officially ban bitcoin for sure, he seem to know how bitcoin can help the economy and increase transparency/security to financial transaction. Better to Wait and watch, what will be coming about bitcoin from Whitehouse.

No one  really  knows  on what  would happen next  on  bitcoins  price. We still dont  know  what things are running  on the  mind  of  Trump. If he recognizes  bitcoins as  a  good coin and  does  have potential  hence hes a  businessman  then for sure bitcoins  adoption would surely increase but   if he intend to  ban it then we  would have no choice  it his decision though.

I agree. I do not think bitcoin is on his radar. Who knows if he will be pressured by the financial lobbyist. Hopefully not.
