Anyone got one of these KNC Jupiter which fails to start mining until restarting like 5 times.

It works once it starts mining but if I turn it off and then start it back up, it needs multiple restarts to get going.

Any fix?

I will try to reflash the entire image. From the KNC website I downloaded a 2GB image so I think it will completely restore the entire operating system and everything.

Upgrading the firmware is only a 2MB file and doesn't change anything.

Yes that is the current version I have right now.

Basically what happens is when you start it up, the flashing blue LED should start flashing in about 5 seconds or so after startup. But with this miner it doesnt. I need to shut it down, and start it back up a few times until those LED start flashing and then it works fine for days and days until it get shut down.

I am wondering if its the KNC Controller or the BeagleBone or something software related. It seems like a software issue to me.

I would guess it would be hardware.  I have ran 8 of them, never had a problem.

Try it without power to the ASIC boards and see what happens.
You may have a power or ground issue.

The performance of the batch 1 Titan miners is 300+ MH/s while consuming approx. 1100 Watts.

The lies...   can anyone confirm this ?

There is worse stuff then that going on at KNC they are shipping the bonus neptunes without a thermal pad on the asic and saying it don't matter and by the
by in that the bonus neptunes are 'free' (even thou for shipping they add a price) ....tough luck as is no warranty..don't let the door hit your ass on the way
out the door

http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/73325-manufacturing-fault-view-4?_=1425313042172

they are not even going thru the motions of customer service anymore (whats the point if they ever do ship the last of the titans they will never have any
more customers per say in an equipment manner..just investors) ...i suppose that is obvious in that the 2nd batch Titans from my figuring is now 3 months late

(I just picked up a 1st batch used titan all good dies with shipping from austalia for 2.15 btc (at the time came out to 505 usd even) and i'm not sure if that
was entirely wise at that price at 15c kwh)

just saying 'home mining is dead' and knc is first out the door before their house of cards falls down (sorry is falling down as we speak)

Why should anyone sell a titan for 5% of it's price when you can get ROI in less than 2 months on the 500$.  Customs probably cost him more than that.

I guess he bought...one of the first when btc was high with btc payment..mined it till now ....trying to get some btc back ..he holds (i assume he is a whale) whatever it is in the mail...i'll let you know if i get a pile of rocks (unlikely been on skype with the guy every other day for months) but hey...he holds and say he has say 10 coin into the beast back in the day..in gets 9 coin back..with what he has mined..if you have enough btc i guess it makes some kinda sense...i got my titan Nov 8th i think he was one of the first to get one ...would that be what 2nd week Oct 2014?

whatever it is hot in Australia ...(summer) elec costs are high and i think he has to travel for work ...so anyway.....but even at 505 usd  or 2.15 btc for the Titan it would still
take 5 months with elec to get out from under the price and elec where I am...so yeah ..he prob could get more on ebay ..but i suspect that right now at LTC price etc 505 usd
or 2.15 is about what these units are worth ..also remember in 'supposedly' a couple weeks 2nd batch titans are gonna hit the world...( I heard at one time that batch was 2.5k
of units...hope that is just a rumor) so titans will be in the 500 range here with in a month about imho on ebay anyway ...when all the Titans are free in the wild .....if watching the price tank on bonus neptunes on ebay is any indication ...

yeah knc did a number on titan owners 1st batch and 2nd batch...

whatever ....it is traveling half way around the world it could end up here in pieces anyway (or rocks) we will see

I'll let folks know...but hell I could hardly turn down the offer (also remember due to bank error/issues with SEC I'm a legal miner in the USA that little equip purchase and me
showing 2x more revenue mining (ie farming lol) is very very helpful to my standing as a legit biz with IRS...with no other real home miner purchases of any note being offered
(at least at current price vs difficulty) this next (2016)  year may be a challenge to get the last of my equip depreciation back on this miner biz merry go round.. ..thus in my 'odd' situation ..this works out well for me in that manner as well.....

again i'll let folks know how this works out

Still, you DON'T sell a 60 days ROI gear, lol...

He offered 2 cubes for 1 btc w/o my urging......due to the above issues in the prev msg i posted....a couple days later i offered him another  1.15 btc for a total of 2.15 btc
half as a joke for the whole thing ..he took it....so we will see for 1 btc down and 1.15 btc in the wind for when it arrives ...and again friends with the guy on skype since oct 2014
so in this case for whatever reason I should be fine on all this

Also ebay prices are way to high imho with 2nd batch titans about to hit the wild.....anytime now...again i heard 2 weeks (shipping by the end of march)...so with the aspect
of ebay prices high and the 2nd batch titans coming ..sure I got a deal..but I don't think it is as good a deal as everyone thinks it is looking down the road a month

my point on ths was I got a $10,131.80 usd Titan (i paid cash) months late on Nov 8th...... 3 months later I can buy one for 505 usd equiv (2.15btc) ....my point was
KNC did a number on us ......the bonus neptune units never had a chance ditto with these 2nd batch titans.....

anyway how i view(?) this kinda now? and much more so at the time of transaction

4 months ROI would be a fair price for it.

So, can anyone with a titan confirm mining @ 300mhs using 1100W ? like they say on their page ?

For the Titan that has been  out  for 5 months it is surprising  there are not alot of user  data out  there.
