Just Checked my order history with KNC, and it is now officially changed to 3TH Jupiter instead of Neptunes. It is happening.

Yes its really happening you can now buy a 3 TH Jupiter for what you would get 4TH from most anyone else.
Antminer, Cointerra etc and all you had to do was wait for KNC to fall on their faces and/or buy too many Jupiter modules to fit in their data center.

You are buying their crumbs.

Joe, it is what it is. I have done well with KNC, and all this for me is really added bonuses, especially since I didn't consider the overclocking that padrino mentioned.

You are getting 18 Jupiter Modules (166gh each) are they new Modules? If so how much more do you expect to overclock out of them?

2nd batch (November) were the same chips no? So isn't 166gh per chip the top end already?

I could be wrong but you may want to double check your math.

I meant the 3Th Jup's are bonuses, at least for me, even if they aren't overclockable. And it was padrino's math, I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Avenger, before you go, re-edit the picture please.  Make it Frankenjup, lose the 'iter', sounds better without extra syllable. thx Cheesy Grin Shocked

LOL you just paid for NRE costs on their 20nm product while giving you a product with NRE already paid for close to 10k. You just got ripped.

A refund would be far more profitable only if you buy bitcoins and the exchange rate goes up.

FTFY. A refund (used to purchase bitcoins if not given directly in bitcoins) will give you more bitcoins than the Neptune will ever mine.

FUKT, I have stopped putting up cash for hardware for what seems like a long time ago and have done well, so whatever comes out of this from KNC is really an added bonus for me. I have plenty of hardware present and on the way and it is all paid for with an initial cash investment made last year under $20k, it has been an incredible ride.

Wow, they still have that up.

I converted to the FrankenJup.  Sad

So what, I'll need 3 1200w PSUs to run this abortion then?

What is the power usage on that monster?  What kind of PSU(s) will it require.  Can it be run safely on household circuits?

Is it just parts or is it somewhat preassembled?

Are these used Datorhall boards?

Many more questions remain unanswered.

Power usage, its Jupiter Nov version so probably similar 1.3W/GH or more overclocked.

As to the rest of the questions some of it is answered in the email

Each setup contains
•   18 of our own 28nm 8 DC/DC module ASIC boards with coolers,
•   3 controller cards,
•   all cables needed,
•   Power supplies not included.
The boards are in aluminum boxes, each box contains 3 chips side by side with front and rear cooling vents. Each controller card runs two boxes.

Extrapolating from my November Jupiter, which uses 820W at wall using Platinum PSU to provide 760GH/s (190GH/s per board overclocked to 1000MHz) - so 18 boards = 3420GH/s @ 3690W.
Personally I would go with 4 x 1000W PSUs, but 3 x 1250W should be possible if you like running close to the wind.  Smiley

3TH gets you between 3.5 and 4 BTC a month (first month) you guys in the $10k club need 22 BTC just to get to zero

Math does not work when the diff is doubling every 35 to 40 days

Best of luck to all
