What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017?

my thoughts about bitcoin this 2017 is that it will continue adapt by the market ! large corporations and companies will adapt bitcoin as their mode of payment transaction , it will be know to many people worldwide ! Many application in the google play store and app store will use bitcoin as their mode of payment for in app purchases ! bitcoin price will rise more than $1500 , I think this is the year for bitcoin this early January it hit the $1000 bracket so lets expect more in bitcoin in the future months to come !

I do not see large corporations and companies adapt Bitcoin very soon. At best they let you pay Bitcoin to a service that converts them immediately into fiat, so they never have to really deal with Bitcoin (like Microsoft and others). Accepting Bitcoin is quite a risk and also comes with huge additional work for the accounting and your lawyers. I am not sure how strict the in app purchases are or will be regulated, so the customer will be protected from fraud (or at least this will be given as the reason), but this might prevent Bitcoin as in app currency (at least in the big stores of apple and android).
So in conclusion these are dreams that might take more then a few months to become true, which btw is a good thing in my opinion, since we should first solve some problems with the product before we advertise and sell it to the customer. Gaining huge masses of new users without being able to handle them was often enough the reason for a promising project to fail.

although 2016 was also the best year for bitcoin as we see such a good progress in the price of bitcoin, as it reaches from350 USD to 1000 USD per bitcoin. and there was not such a big downfall in the price of bitcoin throughout the year, and we are also hopping that in 2017 the bitcoin will achieve more and more success may be this time we even cross 2000 USD and very possible to tough 2500 USD also at the end of 2017.

yes that is right to say we are also expecting that the price of bitcoin will continue its progress and will very soon touch the all time high value. and after that the journey of bitcoin will continue and hope that this progress will continue for next 3 or 4 years and after 3 or 4 years we are expecting that the price will be trading above 5K. therefore it is still good time to buy and hold bitcoin for a long time.

$100k sounds little too optimistic, in near future and far. I still havent set my target when I'm gonna sell, was thinking about $5k or $10k, which I dont think will come so soon (maybe even ever).

some people have a pessimist thought about how bitcoin could dropped down to 50% or so in this new year, but as usual i see a lot of people full of optimistic that invest in bitcoin now or then it would always give you profit as the price of bitcoin are increased gradually. i'm indeed want to be one of them who keep having optimism, i just wouldn't go allin to invest .

Yeah. Many people would want Bitcoin's price to go down, in order to buy cheap coins and profit once the price recovers. However, there are others which are long term investors of Bitcoin and would want its price to keep rising during the year reaching levels above $1500.

In the end, I guess that it is up to people to decide if they want Bitcoin's price to keep rising by promoting it, and spreading the word about it in the mainstream world or not. The more individuals, businesses, and companies join Bitcoin, the more the value of Bitcoin will be. Also, Bitcoin can rise even further if scalable solutions like SegWit becomes active. When that happens, Bitcoin would gather its attention towards those users who are new to the cryptocurrency. Just my opinion. 

those people who actively trade bitcoin would of course expecting a very high volatile price, dropped so hard and skyrocketing in the end. it has been hapened several times especially in the last 4 months. everyone happy with that situation and make them more optimistic . the current price shows how bitcoin promising for investor and trader.

Slow confirming transactions happen because people don't look at how the network is operating. I am not sure about other wallet clients, but Bitcoin Core gives you recommendations when it comes to including proper fees. If you just adapt to the situation where you include proper fees with your transactions, then all your transactions will confirm within 2 blocks. Just don't be stingy as it won't do you anything good - time is money, and money is time.

The electrum wallet also auto adjust the fee so you get a decent confirmation time, I think the fee you send must depend on how fast you want your transaction to get confirmed by the miners, if you need it fast then send a big fee but if speed is not necessary then sending a small fee it is fine.

2017 will be a great year for bitcoin, with the price making a new fondation at $1000 mark, more people will begin using bitcoin in their transcation. However this increase in popularity will bring another trouble for example the fee. There's seems to be more increase unconfirmed transcations lately and the recommended fee becoming more ridiculous  

yeah I think this is the year of bitcoin. for the price of $ 1,000 occurred again in this year. I myself was very surprised when the price could touch and exceed $ 1,000. and you know the popularity of bitcoin rose rapidly because of these events

everyone talking about all positives things without consider there could be a disaster.
the bitcoin financial system is required internet access , and it could be shut down anytime who knows?
no internet no transaction can be made and it is the end of bitcoin , so don't forget to think about bad things that could possible happened.

This is quite a catastrophic scenario. In that case, any currency wont be very handy, maybe gold/silver coins, but maybe even that would be worthless. Food, water, weapon, shelter and surviving skills would be most appreciated. I do think that man should be prepared for almost anything, but I think/hope that your scenario will never come.

I hope so. Usually, Bitcoin struggles to increase in price during the first few months of every year. Most recently Bitcoin was worth around $1030, but in a few hours, it went down to $977. Still, this volatility could be very ideal to make profit.

As more people join Bitcoin this year, as well as it grows in development, and acceptance from mainstream businesses, and companies, it would increase in value as well as popularity making it a widely-used cryptocurrency in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts.

Agree. This price movement makes it very attractive for traders and investors alike to take advantage of the situation and make profit. As Bitcoin increases in value over time, people will look at it as a store of value, just like Gold.

I agree electrum have dynamic fee option where it adjust its transaction fee .  If you want to confirm your transaction fastest, just slide the tx slider to the right for maximum tx fee.  But average is fine in my own experience.


Even if bitcoin is some how experiencing dip atm, I believe that it will reach $1500  this year.  New funds, new people coming in to Bitcoin this year.

but to me i think still very little number of people are using bitcoin. may be less than 1% of the total population. i think bitcoin still need more and more introduction and need its proper knowledge so that people can easily and boldly purchase bitcoin and then adopt bitcoin as an essential part of their lives.

I don't think mass adoption has started anywhere yet. We are still in the beginnings of Bitcoin and there isn't a mainstream understanding of it yet. It is very confusing to the average person. It may take years before it is really taken seriously.

I don't think mass adoption has started anywhere yet. We are still in the beginnings of Bitcoin and there isn't a mainstream understanding of it yet. It is very confusing to the average person. It may take years before it is really taken seriously.

This price drop was the reason of china Public bank making new restrictions of limit of buying in Bitcoin and asking exchanges to cut the Margin trading so the china users started to sell of as they are restricted to buy bitcoins for some days. But still bitcoin has not dropped below $900 and it is still trading above this price which is good result for the bitcoin bullish movement.
