What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017?

Bitcoin in 2017? Probable cases would be the dramatical change of the value of bitcoin, become more developed and more successful. It will also be known in all asian countries. There will also out numbered investors who will invest and sell bitcoins as well, to get more profit. Maybe one of those will hapoen this year,just wait and see.

This may happen if all goes well for Bitcoin during the year. As we don't know what lies ahead for it in the future, we could not say for certainity that it will become much more valuable than what it is right now, but we could rest assured that it will survive for many years to come.

One thing that is killing Bitcoin, is the never-ending scalability debate. There is fear that if BTC splits into two different coins, there would be chaos in the crypto economy and Bitcoin's value would decrease exponentially. If that happens, then we might see two different versions of Bitcoin on the market, with the original one being worth back $300 - $500 making many investors lose their money.

Nevertheless, I hope that the whole Bitcoin community would come up to an agreement to preserve its value proposition in the future. I'm sure that one way or another Bitcoin would scale and it will reach new heights in price that were never before seen. Just my opinion.

Couldn't agree more with you, mate. Bitcoin will continue to expand in value over the remaining months of the year, making it the most prominent cryptocurrency for years to come. It has shown the world, that despite the facts that an ETF was rejected by the SEC, and many other negative factors have happened, it has emerged greater and stronger than ever as a solid decentralized cryptocurrency.

As its user base, and development increases, we will see Bitcoin as the future cryptocurrency for the masses in the mainstream world. Now that a new scalable solution called SegWit2x has shown major support from the miners, Bitcoin will grow into a bigger cryptocurrency that will eventually rival traditional payment processors like Visa and MasterCard. Just my thoughts.

yeah the more project will means the more people are learning about bitcoin. the more people acknowledge btc, the higher will be the deman, the higher the demand, the higher the price of bitcoin will be. this is what im hoping to for bitcoin this year.

For the past several years since bitcoin was founded, everything's pretty upward. I think it will not stop in 2017, not even in the following year and in the few years to follow.

A $1000 increase is a moderate prediction. It will be somewhere on that figure. Hotels, airlines, countries, online shopping sites, and so on and so forth are already raising their green flags for bitcoin. That is just the start.

I believe bitcoin is still far from its peak. It's relatively young.

I agree.Bitcoin is really starting to conquer the world.Some countries have adopted already bitcoin,and maybe before this year ends more and more countries will be interested in bitcoin and soon they'll be adopting it too.IMO some banks also might be interested in bitcoin.And they will make a proposal study for that.

Yes it already secured it's position in the year 2017, many people are now days looking some thing new in their daily life so my though is government should elaborate bitcoin technology through out the world wide and make announcement that bitcoin can use able like gold. I think that Bitcoin will fly past that number once people recognize that Bitcoin has the potential to go up further than its all-time high. If Bitcoin has a large amount of people trying to purchase Bitcoin at that time then the price of Bitcoin will go up in value much faster.

Yes, Japan is the first country to try using bitcoin to pay for electricity and water costs, I heard that in the near future, they will officially use it in their lives. Other countries in the world are also taking a lot of interest in bitcoin, we can see in the future that bitcoin will be very popular and used as cash but now Bitcoin still need more time to develop and perfect more. I think in 2017, Bitcoin will create a big milestone, marking its maturity and development in the future.

well as we notice this year 2017 the price of bitcoin is so unpredictable because the price of it gets dump by 50% sometimes and most of the times pumped up to 100% this year,, for me bitcoin chart is so good for me. because in my opinion this is the best sign in increasing the value of it more and more.

Yes its right bitcoin has a bright future and I think 2017 is the better year for bitcoin but it not mean that just 2017. Bitcoin will rise more and more just like countries are legalizing bitcoin for payment in trades and the new revolution will come with segvit2x in the world of bitcoin

That's what we have seen in last 7 years. The journey of bitcoin has highlighted it's potential and a clear picture of the future. Currently not even 0.5% of world's population is using bitcoin but most of them are using fiat currencies. Just imagine what could happen if we could grab at least 5% share of world's population in bitcoin user base? I don't have any doubt in my mind that the price is going to rise.

People now are getting smarter and embracing the technology of our world and for sure we already surpass at least 10% of our world population and they area already using cryptocurrencies for trading or such a good investment for their portfolio and if this kind of adoption will continue then it will be a good future for the early adopters because the price of their coin will be more expensive in the future.

10% is very optimistic figure. I want someone to prove me wrong but to be honest I don't think that much of people are using crypto currencies at the moment. I am not including the people who have just heard about bitcoin or crypto currencies and not using it. 10% of 7 billion population is a impressive milestone to reach but we are not there yet. However if we continue to grow with the same speed then I don't think that is is far away from us.

I don't think that 10% of the world's population is using Bitcoin. Less than 0.006% of all BTC wallets are holding more than 90% of all mined BTC. And 80% of all ETH is held by the creator of Ethereum, so I don't think very many people are holding much BTC or any other cryptocurrency at all.  Total crypto market cap is estimated at 115 Billion, and BTC is 45 B. and ETH is 31 B. That leaves a lot of room for hedge funds and such, and a lot of people say that hedge funds have bought lots, and since the market cap has increased from 17 Billion 3 months ago until today which is a total of 115 Billion. I don't think the average public would suddenly start to buy cryptocurrencies, so that must mean that massive amount of money came from hedge funds and smart money.

We know that a few Billionaires have openly admitted to buying BTC and a few other currencies. Tim Draper bought 30,000 BTC when the US Marshals sold it on auction market in 2014, plus he also bought all the rest of those BTC that were up for auction by the US Marshals. We also know that Richard Branson been very favorable to Bitcoin and has admitted to buying BTC and BTC businesses. Bill Gates has also admitted to buying Bitcoin, but Warren Buffet has not, because he doesn't understand it. Haha.

So I think mostly smart money owns most of it.

P.S. I was very surprised to see that the market cap had increased by more 300% in 3 months. Maybe something shocking is about to happen in the world. I don't know, but that's a massive amount of money movement. It changed from 17 Billion to 110 Billion in 3 months. That's one heck of a pile of money that moved into cryptocurrencies and I would make a guess that it didn't come from drug dealers, like the media and not-so-smart money people keep talking about.

You hit the bull's eye. Yes, it is very surprising to see such growth but I think the mainstream media attention during after the ransomware attack, more people seriously looked at bitcoin and invested in giving it a try. There is no doubt that drug mafias or criminals are using bitcoin because no one can stop or even identify them in doing so.
