What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017?

Some of my thought for 2017:

1. For everyone staying that bitcoin can't compete with traditional payment processors - with proper fee there is no delay on payment.
So unless bitcoin will always be mined with speed 10 minutes per block money transfers won't be any faster. Deal with it.

2. Bitcoin was designed to be safe haven and asset/currency, it will free us from next economic crisis.
It has its own micro world, the worse fiat is doing, the better BTC will be. We will see that in the future.

3. Yuan has lost about 14% against dollar in last 4 years. Do you think where Chinese citizens scared by further devaluation will flock? Bitcoin is the cure.

Actually people right now in our generation needs a reliable and fast way to pay. Because not only time is gold but people in this era are impatient in waiting. Bitcoin is not practical to be use when you are in a line or queued in a system. It will cost both the buyer and seller trouble in many ways. Also if fiat is doing bad Bitcoin will follow because the basis on Bitcoin's value is Fiat itself.

During the first week of January 2017, the market cap of bitcoin was standing at 15.8 Billion USD and within just one month, it has reached to 17.35 billion USD. 1.55 billion USD increase in just one month!! That's incredible!! That is even faster than any countries economy. At this speed, bitcoin will outpace many other currencies in 2017.

I feel that bitcoin will reach 1300 USD by this quarter and find a support at 1100 level only if the current market cap continues. But if people start withdrawing money from bitcoin, it may not stand there. However, in 2017, we all will be lucky enough to see a huge rally in bitcoin price for sure.

Same here,I am very optimistic about bitcoin this year.we started the year more than $1000 dollar value and I hope will reach by $2000 by year end. Though this is a very ambitious price, but I am very hopeful as last year.

My thoughts are that bitcoin is going to keep growing as it has done in the previous year and I think that by the end of the year we will be able to see prices that we have never seen before probably above the 1500 mark it will not last for long but enough for us to profit from it.

One of the problems that happened this year was the huge amount of Unconfirmed transactions(https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions), even it is not a big deal right now if this kind of problem occurs again and turn for the worst it will affect the progress of bitcoin.

I guess bitcoin this 2017 will become more popular compare last year, its my thought anyway only. Maybe because bitcoin nowadays is very trend in online technology, so many of the people became curious about it.

Of course it will because that will make more people encourage to use bitcoin upon seeing its price. And I am very sure that many will look to bitcoins opportunity and will aim for more success in bitcoin because it can make their lives wealthier and they will be more inspired upon knowing that there are people who became rich with it already.

Bitcoin price could continue to go up in price but I am more interested in how it is going to develop more as a currency that we can use anytime, anywhere. For that to become a possibility, certain imporvements (e.g. block size) has to be seriously addressed. That and other things like more accepting merchants would really make 2017 a good year for bitcoin.

I am happy with the big difference in terms of growth compared to the past year.
However, news has spread all over my country saying bitcoin will be regulated by our national bank.
I'm not sure if this is good or bad news but I'm getting a bad feeling about this.

the problem is that proper fee are already very high yesterday to send 0.05, which is 50 euro, i was forced to send together 100k satoshi which is 1 euro, 2% fee is already approaching paypal

this is not the average but it will be there soon, obviously i didn't pay so much but 2/3 and still get the confirmation fast enough, i think on the majority of transaction you can't be lucky and pay even half of the recommended

I consider this to be a very dangeroues developement for bitcoin.
Everybody who starts uses small amounts at first. With transaction fees of 1 dollar or above, no new members of bitcoin can be gained anymore.
And many of the older member will think twice if they really want to make a payment with bitcoins (and choose another payment option in the end).

Indeed. As you can see, the number of unconfirmed transactions is the sign showing that the Bitcoin users has increased a lot in the previous year. We expect more significant event happening and changing the ways people think about Bitcoin. If Bitcoin is popular enough, soon, it will replace other tradition currency and become the world only currency

I agree! for me, I know 10k(I always add in every tansaction to make it faster) satoshi is a small amount but
if this slow confirmation continues, soon enough the users will feel the drawbacks of this problem
and it will affect bitcoin.

Attention will be focused on how bitcoin will show itself in emerging markets. The price will only keep growing. I had doubts regarding this un the past weeks, but now I am sure it will. The recent events all around the world are creating panic and a potential conflict between certain countries. That means people will try to find refuge, and the only refuge you can find in a potential conflict is gold, silver and Bitcoin.

We know that after all this years, bitcoin value are going to have a streak for going up. We should now invest our bitcoins, because I think it would more grow or be on the highest peak for this year. We should invest for our bitcoins, and all of our bitcoins will grow.

I think the price would increase and the population would highly increase in 2017. I just read the article about Japan making bitcoin a legal payment method. You would expect that China would do this first since they have the most bitcoins, but it's actually Japan. There should be some consequences on this. There are some claiming that this might actually monopolize bitcoins.

everyone talking about all positives things without consider there could be a disaster.
the bitcoin financial system is required internet access , and it could be shut down anytime who knows?
no internet no transaction can be made and it is the end of bitcoin , so don't forget to think about bad things that could possible happened.
