According to The Trustee Handbook (a publication I highly recommend, from Exponent Philanthropy), board members have three overarching duties when it comes to serving their foundations:

Duty of Care – This means caring for the interests of the foundation in terms of its management, investments and pursuit of charitable interests. It means making decisions that a prudent person would make, no matter what the circumstances.A good board member fulfills the duty of care by staying aware of the foundation’s business and operations (including investment performance), attending all board meetings fully prepared and ready to engage in discussion and maintaining an understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements that govern foundations.
 

Duty of Loyalty – This means serving the best interests of the foundation above any personal interest of your own.A good board member avoids conflicts of interest (such as when he or she has a personal or professional interest in a proposed transaction) and abstains from voting or attempting to influence the outcome if a conflict is present. A good board member also understands the IRS rules about “self-dealing” on foundation boards and understands how to avoid transactions that may be called into question. (Self-dealing rules are complicated and easy to violate unwittingly, but they can carry steep penalties. It is always best to consult outside legal counsel to advise on self-dealing issues, and to attend trainings about self-dealing that are offered by many foundation member associations).
 

Duty of Obedience – This means following the rules: both the internal rules of the foundation, such as bylaws or policies, and the external laws and regulations that govern foundations, so as not to jeopardize the foundation’s tax-exempt status. And, of course, it also means refraining from criminal behavior (such as theft or embezzlement) and from questionable activities, such as taking or providing excess compensation or using foundation assets or facilities for personal benefit.
 

Don’t let it go to your head
Never, ever forget that, as a board member, you are in a position of service and servant leadership, period. Yes, you will sense an increase in power. (As one colleague of mine likes to point out, you automatically become better looking, smarter and wittier the second you join a foundation board.) Never fall into the trap of thinking that the foundation represents “your” money, that you can allow your personal preferences to guide your decision-making or that others who seek your assistance have to prove themselves to you.

Arrogance, condescension and superiority are the strict enemies of every foundation board member. Remember, it’s your attitude, your humility, your grace and your respect for others that will ultimately determine whether your foundation is an effective community asset and partner or a resented and disconnected institution that just happens to have money.

Serving as a foundation trustee is serious business, and it’s hard work. It can be a very public position that is fraught with temptation. But it’s also an incredibly rewarding experience that can bring you closer to your community, make you a wiser and more thoughtful person and allow you to leave a personal legacy that can have a positive impact for years to come.

I'm also desperately waiting for main net to launch

Hope it'll be launched in February 2018 but I'm not sure. There is no enough information for that. Personally I'm ready to wait a bit more

They are not saying anything because of court cases? ..

It wasn't me judge it was him ..

If the foundation acts like a foundation then what can any court do?..
The tezos ICO was a donation to bring technology out for the public use and then foundation was set up to make sure it goes through ..

And yes they have to have a working product for 3 months after release  ..
BUT the foundation needs to be doing many many things and i don't see anything much if anything at all..

III. Transparency and Its Limits
Here, we discuss the general aspects of transparency and its limits with regard to the
constitution and operation of foundations. These issues are of a functional character, and
therefore apply equally to Swiss- and non-Swiss-based foundations.
A. Transparency and Access to Information Today
First of all, it seems undeniable that today’s unprecedented access to information can
trigger changes in the relationship between economic actors and the community.

Communication technologies matter more than ever before. Never before has the human being enjoyed such an
abundance of available information. The challenge is not about looking for the information; it is
rather about processing it.26 Although this surfeit of information does not necessarily result in
“improved” knowledge, it renders traditional cases of secrecy almost impracticable.
Issues such as digital technologies, the convergence of media, and the architecture for
distributing information—both legal and illegal—have dramatically changed with the
introduction of Internet Web 2.0.27 Furthermore, devices to process information are inexpensive,
and sophisticated skills are not required to operate, edit, and distribute information. This has
provoked a radical shift in the way society and its institutions communicate with each other.
Traditional practices based on secrecy are no longer acceptable. Foundations should follow this
trend and avoid old-fashioned strategies based on scarcity of information.28
B. Transparency as an Integral Component
of the Current International Legal and Economic Order
Today, transparency has an increasing role to play across different sectors. In the
converging dynamic that has existed since the early 1990s, national governments seem to “cede”
sovereignty, economic integration takes place,29 and private players progressively adopt business
models that operate across several jurisdictions.30 Issues of transparency are of particular
importance in intergovernmental operations and public-private sector relations,31 where it is
essential to avoid any secrecy that might undermine the business climate, sociopolitical
opportunities for change, or global security.32

Hope it'll be launched in February 2018 but I'm not sure. There is no enough information for that. Personally I'm ready to wait a bit more 

yep, the team didnt say much, we could only wish they can deliver it as the road map, anyway, we have been locked for such a long time

The Joker (Gevers, aka Graver) must approve the launch. So, it is concievable that he continues to do nothing and even a finished network may never launch. If he stays in control, probably will never launch.

Nope. If you consider the high investment cap, it's actually no more space for Tezos to rocket.

Nonsense. If Tezos launched a working network rather than all the empty tokens promising a future working network like Cardano Tezos would be top 3 in a month. And ico mkt cap was only $233m, which is nothing today.
And it's not the team that I'm questioning, it's Gevers stopping the launch that is the troubling thing.

I think it is quite reasonable expection that waiting for launch. I don't also think it is too far. We're already in 2018

What do you think about the actual value on hitbtc, is it realistic? With this value tezos would be on position 17 on coinmarketcap. IMO tezos can reach cardano in some months...

overtaking cardano shouldn´t be a problem after the release if they can hold the promises
