I'm testing the new version 1.3.1a and see on the local monitoring page the efficiency is 0.00
See screenshot :

What I also see is that the speed is lower and I get more Job not found errors. Is this known?

These two applications are very different internally and NiceHash Legacy is maturer and more stable at this point, so we decided to let the user choose. I believe we will completely switch to excavator once it hits the same level of stability.

As for NVIDIA v.s. AMD, they found that NiceHash'es current and potential customer bases consist disproportionately of NVIDIA users. Also, djeZo was not particularly impressed by the fact that the AMD platform was generally very unstable. I personally prefer a wild ride in the AMD land, but he surely knows what he is doing and he has the final say, so there was not much I could do...

so legacy will be removed sooner? just like what you have said legacy got a stable mining capability and i think its good switching coins from one another
i'm still new with mining and legacy was the first app that i use, hopefully i'll be able to maximize my earnings from your app and looking forward to try
using excavator and see it by myself if what this version can bring me, also have amd cards.

Dual mining does not work on pools that do not support EthereumStratum protocol. Make pools support it, and it will work. Specs are here: https://github.com/nicehash/Specifications/blob/master/EthereumStratum_NiceHash_v1.0.0.txt

Its far more easy to excavator support other eth protocol, since you dont have to ask (or beg) to every pool to support your ethereum protocol ( i doubt they will)

I just uploaded the first Linux version of excavator for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS:

https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/releases/tag/v1.3.1a

All you need to do for installation is to run:

    wget https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/releases/download/v1.3.1a/excavator_1.3.1a-xenial0_amd64.deb
    sudo apt install ./excavator_1.3.1a-xenial0_amd64.deb

Everything will be installed under /opt/excavator, and you can test excavator with:

    excavator -c /opt/excavator/etc/default_command_file.json

There is no man page yet, but it should be ready for the next version.
I will also prepare a Debian package for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS shortly.

I also have a lower hash rate with the new version than the old one.

Old one : 642
New one : 620

Using it on Windows 10 64 Bit 1703 and 385.69 driver version.

dropky released a new version to address this issue:

  • equihash bug fixes & improvements

Added M (mode) parameter for equihash.
Use one worker per device when running with M=1, otherwise use two workers per device.

I will upload Debian packages for Ubuntu shortly.

Thanks for the update. Speed is now 658. I'm using two workers and not the -M option.
