Not sure what this is supposed to show, but it'd be interesting to see a chart of the BTC/Gold price over the last few years; Especially because the gold prices are constantly falling (aka manipulated by paper futures).

I don't think old people will ever enter Bitcoin en masse.

So is.

Highlighted stupid part is stupid. Jimmy Song and everyone he knows will be "old people" by the time the second wave comes. "Old people" of the future will be buying Bitcoin like the old people of today buy PMs.

my grandma asked me in the spring of 2017 if she could invest some money into bitcoin. price was around $2.5k, (which was my best case scenario top for end of 2017 Cheesy). I thought that it would be kind of mean to sell btc to my grandma at my projected yearly high, so we agreed on a 50% discount. when it went over $12k my grandma wanted to cash out.

this way she made 10x in $.

Support line I drew back in early 2017 (it was my first post here, btw): We were barely over $1100 at that point.

Said "should expect $2000 at the very end of 2017, and $5000 at the end of 2018." Wouldn't dare to say anything about 2019.

Here's how it looks right now:

 Wink

We will soon know if that trend line still holds true in the following months. I think that is a healthy projection for a nascent industry such as cryptocurrencies and its barometer, Bitcoin. Steady upward movement is a welcome site.

Such linear line does not make much sense to forecast price movements of bitcoin in my opinion. I believe that there are two scenarios for bitcoin upward movements in the next few months: First, it might hit or break the point around $10000 (the blue line); Second, if it surpass $10000 and still has good supports and demands from bitcoin enthusiats, it might test the strong resistance around $11500 (the red line). Who knows, how bitcoin will move next months, but I think these two price points are very important for bitcoin in medium-term.
It is my first time to see such topic without signature, it looks very clean ^^

Hehe not bad! Thanks!
And what I wanted to see was the gold/BTC relation during the crypto-winter. It seems that Bitcoin didn't give a lot of space to gold after all, both had a similar fate.
This doesn't make sense to me though, shouldn't either "safe heaven" asset (if not both) flourish during an unstable stock market? I guess since both assets cannot be faked and printed, they have a common enemy who is fighting them both equally.

Nonetheless, it's obvious which of the two assets is more resistant to manipulation/suppression.
Here's a focused chart starting on May 2017, the first month the daily BTC volume consistently reached a billion $.

Has anyone consider that price change can be in connection with google putting huawei on blacklist. Im thinking what could happen if Chinese people could stop buying Coca Cola for one day.
Is it possible that could be connected in some way.

CocaCola in China, like everywhere else, is just a small number of local companies that have bought the rights to use the CocaCola brand. You would be hurting the local owners not CocaCola USA.  CocaCola in Altlanta makes its profits from IP licensing.

JPMorgan analysis of Bitcoin:

2017: “I’d fire trader ‘in a second’ for trading Bitcoin” (Jamie Dimon)

2018: Bitcoin has no intrinsic value

2019 (present): Bitcoin’s intrinsic value is $4k

At this rate...

2020: Bitcoin’s intrinsic value is $100k

2021: It could be much higher

Interesting bullish commentary, Retina. But where/who is it from? Please do attribute your quotes.

After the pullback on Thursday night, the bears are at it again. Yes the same "experts" that have been calling for a huge pullback since, let me check 4k, are ignoring the structure and proportion of this rally which is clearly bullish . Unfortunately many have missed out on the rally or simply flip their calls depending on the direction of the wind. One simple pullback and they are making up patterns or simply covering their tracks with IF statements and no clear calls one way or the other. I consider this weather forecasting not Technical Analysis .

I'll be straight forward here: BUY THE DIP!

Let me make a prelude. This article is for investors and position traders, not swing or daytrading. Different strategies with different intents.

(snip)

We are looking to buy this dip! THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!

@JJG  keep writing long post bro, no matter what other thinks of it (which I know you don't bother). some of us find your posts valuable because you are always kind enough to share your experience. good or bad its another discussion.

hahahahahaha

Thanks..  No problem.  I cannot help myself anyhow.  My algorithm makes me do it...    Wink

By the way, I did recently get a new laptop, and I am still in the process of setting it up, so I am typing mostly on the old laptop until all my settings and everything is properly transferred to my new laptop....

Anyhow, with my old laptop, I had broken a few keys and even put in replacement keys, too.... I think that sometimes I type too hard.. maybe i get too excited?    Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hehe I am aware of that you can't help yourself when you are up for discussion, sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad according to my understanding but I actually count on your posts.

And I know you getting a new laptop is warning Cheesy

I voted 2020 on the ATH poll and found myself in good company. But we all know she does what she likes anyway, often the opposite of what the majority expects.
