I didn’t say I wasn’t getting back in today. Am tempted to do so right now but will wait a bit longer.
And let’s be clear, over 95% of my portfolio is hodl. This is just fun. It is a challenge to myself to see if I can beat buy and hold ROI over an extended period. And I have no confidence in my ability to actually pull it off.

so guys
I just spent over 2 hours learning about hashgraph. I am not shilling for anything, in fact I'm not even sure there is a way to "get in" on it. They DO NOT have an ICO. It looks like they are doing some really innovative platform/protocol work to build scaleable, secure, fair ledgers.
I seems to me that one of the founding tenets of the small block philosophy is the acceptance that bitcoin can not be all things to all people. We will need robust real time ledgers for a multitude of uses, economic transactions being just one.
Not even going to link...not shilling...advising that it may be worth a look.

Is LN blockchain admission of failure ? Ain't we better off using ripple at this point ?

Oh, I was just agreeing with you. Just like you, I day trade with less than 1% of my crypto. Anything significant is permanently embedded on Trezors.

Because of that little conversation I sold my 15125 buy at 14800 or so...
Dude. I don't want to sound like an asshole, but just HODL, man. Getting sad reading stories of your missteps with BTC Heh... It's a small amount I have on the exchange, and not all I have either. Trying to acquire more btc, not just more value. 0.001 btc at a time... Ok probably half that. But still, you're probably right. Just need a better paying job that I don't hate. Hard to find these days. Gotta hold what I have.

There is no mining. Which tells me that the network is vulnerable to Sybil attacks because there is no cost to massive spam. I have an open mind but would like to know how Iota deals with spam attacks.

Are you fucking retarded or something ? LN is an evolutionary step for Bitcoin. When you check your email, would you rather telnet/ssh directly to the mail server and issue manual commands, or would you prefer to use a mail client that does all the heavy lifting for you ? A much pithier explanation than mine. but off-chain txs are an admission of failure, security and trust is compromised, it's not blockchain anymore, it's patch-up. NO.

NO. its patch-up, I like that as opposed to evolution on the most trusted network on the planet

I've often thought about playing with some "house money" daytarding, but then the whole short-term tax bullshit starts coming into play with the IRS, and after exchange fees and whatnot, I've just told myself to "Shut Up and HODL. It's not worth the aggravation." (Any BTC that I'm selling off right now is taxed as long-term gains.) And I must admit, part of me is a bit jealous that you have the time to daytard "for fun". If it wasn't for my retirement plans that I've set in motion, I might be convinced to play with 10 BTC 'fo shiggles, on some exchanges, but that shit be too stressful, yo. Full disclosure: I'm strongly considering doing the whole arbitrage thing with running a well-funded LN node when the time comes. I know this does not work but a different way of looking at it bitcoin is not an investment, income, commodity etc etc etc it is my money, to me it is worth $1000000 each as shops or countries do not take my money i have to exchange it into their foreign fiat currency i then have to sell lower then what i believe my money is worth in retrospect I am losing out example if I went to the US from Canada 5 years ago with 100,000 dollars and it was 1 to 1 dollar on the exchange i get the same amount when i return to Canada 5 years later with the same 1000,000 dollars and the rate has dropped to 70 cents to one us dollar am i taxed for increasing my money

It would be a tax nightmare that could even force you to liquidate most of your stash. Maybe you could do it under your "other half" account though if he isn't already a hodler.

I am retarded Yes. Hmm why'd you change your "*sigh*" to a "Yes." Just didn't pack that punch you were looking for? The paid, organized shilling of blockstream is traitorous to the principles espoused by Satoshi Nakamoto and the values this community was supposed to be founded on. That's Fact. Historians will know this, plain as can be.
