He wants the Crypto community to grow up whilst he posts a pic of himself in which he looks about 12 years old?

Feel free to donate some testosterone. And don't mess with him. He's now on Putin's speed dial.

I don't like how I keep having to revise the lower slope of this wedge down.

I don't like it one bit.

I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but Windows 10 isn't so bad.

Granted, I "modified" my OS so it doesn't auto update, and turned off all the suspect "malware / spyware". I confirmed it with network tools and wireshark and ethernet sniffers. Nothing in or out (not even encrypted unless I was using tor or a VPN).

Of course, I don't use IE. I just use Windows as the OS, everything else is an app ... firefox, bitcorns, gpg ... all free too. Got the license from school.

Try uninstalling it.

CAN'T!

Well. I tried system restore.  Gonna have to manually uninstall.  Angry

Try to use the Via BTC accelerator

Sorry, your TXID doesn't exist  when I use accelerator.

You have to hit that accelerator right on the hour as only 100 tx are allowed per hour.  Also it is very busy most of the time.  You might have more luck getting the tx accelerated if you have more than one person attempting to get it through.  You have one minute!

Here's my opinion.

Just while looking at the market cap, I like to see if money is taken out or just shuffled to other cryto's.   Looks like there is about 50b sitting on the sideline waiting to be thrown back in.  They really want more market share for themselves and to catch those weak hands.  Also, looks like 10billion has been funneled off to Ripple.. so what this means, it's probably reserve banks throwing their weight around.  No one likes Ripple that much. haha

You're intuition is spot on.

Also, power prices in Germany (and other Euro countries) going negative? So why aren't more Bitcoin miners setting up shop there?

Bitcoin was a $5-10 billion market at most in late 2013, concentrated on a handful of exchanges, most infamously Mt Gox, which was manipulated by Karpeles' Willie bot followed by the catastrophic loss of Bitcoin and collapse of the whole exchange and fragile ecosystem. You know this, Tera.

Bitcoin is now at least a $200B market cap by itself and has established itself as the trading foundation of an overall crypto market of half a trillion and is even legal tender in Japan of all places, in spite of Mt Gox. There are hundreds of exchanges in dozens of countries and massive infrastructure and overhead now invested in Bitcoin's future. Sure there are many who want to see it fail, mainly governments, regulators and old-school investors, but there are now far too many devoted to seeing it succeed.

I understand the importance of chronic unease and cautious optimism in such a volatile investment. But now it just seems you are just trying to incite doom and gloom, you are trying to instill fear, uncertainty and doubt, you are searching for patterns to corroborate your... hope, is it?? Hope that Bitcoin will continue to fall?  Because it doesn't just seem like fear driving your prognostications. It actually seems like you seriously hoping Bitcoin will stumble and fall into a multi-year bear market and retest old lows. Is this all stemming from regret? Regret that you didn't buy enough to exit this whole game by now and the hope that you can scoop up some more cheap coin?

Rough patches remain ahead, no doubt, but the days of $300 or $3000 coin are Christmas past.

I understand you sentiments, as someone who must be losing big right now. However, they are not true. I did not miss out on this run. I made a fortune.
Why do I share TA like this?  I do it because I observed a pattern or because I believe in something. I actually do it in both directions. I dont do it becasue I want to manipulate the market. I do it either to spark up a conversation, have someone prove me wrong, or to get credit when something I said comes true. So far I'm on a good run. First I called a breakout above 17000 and then that a stop order at 18800 would be a good idea, then later on after the second drop I called a floor at 11700, and then I called a top at 16000. Next I'm calling a bounce at 8000. It's probably going to come true. In my mind all these things about the market needing to correct and test lows are simply pieces of inevitable logic, are healthy, and have nothing to do with fear or pessimism or malice. I dont know if we're going to enter a 3 year crypto winter like the chart above but I noticed that two segments of the chart looked almost exactly the same and wanted to stir up the opinions of analysts on here.

Buying and selling dash is not a taxable event for you? How is that?

Well I understood you pay captial gains when there is a fiat gain in value at the time when you dispose it, ie sell it for fiat. I'm in the UK. I hope I got that right. If I have to proof every single trade between Dash and Bitcoin or whatever other crypto I don't know how on earth I could even start to do that  Huh Some exchanges I have used no longer even exist.

Guys I know this is off topic but is there a way to stop a unconfirmed transaction. Someone just stole the coins from my wallet.

try to double spend your coins to a new address where you own the private key.

put a very high fee in this tx and hopefully your tx will be confirmed before the tx of the theft.

I am waiting for my core wallet to load, will be done in a few mins. Won’t it just have a balance of 0? If you could let me know how to do it I would appreciate it.
without balance?
maybe it would be possible if someone loaded your keys into his walet and did it from there. but i never tried catching slower transaction this way, so im not sure

I did send out a transaction but it’s not showing on blockchain. The thief sent a real low transaction fee so it should be a while but doesn’t seem to be working.

How did they hack your keys?

Oh man, really sorry to hear that. From the moment I read your first post about this, I knew it was a losing battle. It's tough to outrun the network (even the slow and overloaded Bitcoin network). It was inevitable that he would get a confirmation before you could act...

Some advice to help avoid situations like this:

1. Buy (and use) a TREZOR or Ledger h/w wallet.
2. Use a good Anti-Virus s/w (not M$ SUCKurity ASSentials or DAFTender).
3. Train yourself to sense intrusions (needs years of experience).
4. Be paranoid about the organization of apps and files on your PC.
5. Don't use Windows 10 if possible. It significantly compromises (3) and (4) among other negatives.
6. Online and PC/phone wallets are to hold small amounts of coins, and only temporarily.
7. Buy (and use) a TREZOR or Ledger h/w wallet.

Again, really sorry for the loss, and I hope it was a small percentage of your total portfolio.

new reflow oven

hey lightfoot

what do you recommend in a hot air station?
Strangely enough my Aoyue 952 has done very well. Solid little thing.

I think I'm going to get a ez-bake oven to try to do better chip reflows. I can do it by hand, but there is always the risk I overheat the chip. Reflow oven would automate that, then I just need to make sure the tacky flux has the component perfectly aligned (you can bump a chip slightly with air to get it to perfectly center.

I've got an Aoyue 952 as well as a Weller WR3 rework station.  The nice thing about the hot air from the Weller is that you can toggle it on/off at the hand tool.  However, this is somewhat less useful than I initially expected.  The other great thing about the WR3 is the vacuum de-soldering tool.  If you've only ever used the manual "solder suckers," then a pro de-soldering tool will be a real treat!

Uggg, did you try to claim Bitcoin GOD coin?  Saw there was a phishing site for private keys.

I won't touch any of these fork coins unless Trezor has a split tool for them.

I hope the hardware wallet people wont support any of these
ridiculous forks. Then maybe when idiots who start playing with fire
by importing private keys start crying over lost coins,
the rest of the "noob-not-so-informed" crypto community will
see these things for what they are.... pure money grabbing scammyass crypto fraud.

then again, this is crypto...what else is new?
