I am pretty sure you can game the tax systems by “earning” all your income while offshore or in a tax free jurisdiction and not staying in any particular Western country for more than 179 days [does not work for US citizens]
So fly to Dubai to cash out your BTC and then go skiing for a couple of months, rinse repeat.
The problem that I have is specifically with owning property in that kind of situation. I don't want to go from hotel to hotel or Airbnb to Airbnb for the travel part. But if I could just own two houses and have each of them set up as a fully functional base then I would be perfectly happy to just fly over from one to the other every 6 months. Just haven't found anything specific regarding this edge case yet. Yup, 6 months here 6 there is pretty ideal. I've been doing perpetual summer for the better part of 20 years and its worked out very well. Depending on the country, ownership of land or house can get tricky, especially in SE Asia it has a particular set of headaches. I prefer to rent/lease long term in Asia which also gives me the option to pick up and go much easier if needed and own in the countries which I have citizenship. Just looked out the window. I envy your lifestyle. Haha I see that your neck of the woods is ankle deep in shit. Disgusting, really. I was depressed by the 12C and fog here, but now I'm laughing a little. thanks It’s a desolate, godless moonscape, totally uninhabitable. If we had dancing girls they’d be eaten by street-wolves. Come to Thailand. It won´t be worse than this. If you avoid the girls, you´re home free ! And for half the money ! And you can drive around on a Moped, the whole year. That´s what i´m doing. I´m blessed. No Joke ! Guys, i really can´t see, why you should end your life in such negative places, pack your things, even your family, and move ! Shhhh.... If everyone goes, it won't be cool anymore. But really, find a spot that will encourage you to stay active and possibly fit, eat healthy, live simply and cheaply. Cash is still king in these parts so financial anonymity is much easier achieved. Just don't work illegally and as mentioned before, avoid the chicken girls and the exotic lifestyle is yours.

I'm actually heading to Thailand tomorrow to stay for about 2 months. Will be mostly in the Bangkok area. Bangkok is not my cup of tea, i´m more of a beach guy: My girlfriend says, look at your belly. Stay safe !

work illegally
something is seriously wrong with any system where work is ever illegal We're also still plugging away at a tried and failed system, democracy and capitalism. So ya, things look kinda grim in the forecast while the majority of us either consent to doom or try to find the best loophole to escape cope with it.

Elwar is still building it. Here's some thoughtful entertainment on building a community. Check out "Wild, wild country" aired on netflix. It's the conspiratorial saga of Rajneeshpuram (Osho) community as it attempted self governance in the 80's in outback Oregon. Surprisingly its led me to consider the importance of governance.

That Litecoin pump looks fabulous!
Don't want to come off like an asshole, but what pump ? Might want to make an appointment to get your eyes checked, brother. Check the LTC vs. BTC charts... it was like 0.015700 BTC yesterday and it touched 0.0164500 BTC today... and I see the upward pressure building up. It is something unnatural going there. It just 5%+ growth in one day while BTCTC is in semi-stagnation. But still, I don't care, I'm dumping/pumping one or another as long as there is profit to make!

I actually believe that Earth's population is too low. We need 50-150 billion people to make it fun here!

I'll take a look. I recently watched a show called Jungletown about the recreational colonization of a place called Kalu Yala that convinced me of the importance of despotic opportunists.

With all of this in mind Blue Frontiers decided to go with an actual currency to be used on the seasteads and be the only currency the company would accept for payment for anything on the seasteads That's very disappointing! It defeats the very foundation of the project as it creates just another territory with their own currency. A "legal tender" and the only way you can pay your taxes to local authorities. How is that different to every other country manipulating their domestic currency to "optimally" rob their own citizens? I guess there will be exchanges, exchange rates, fees. I'm sure it will be possible to buy a few varyons even from the mainland. On board for sure, at more cost. If you live at sea, then of course they're more useful. Yes, I see your point, becoin. But isn't the concept of a community currency legitimate? A fat stash of it implies a stake in some man-made quasi-island, so what? It might give actual use case value to varyon (XBTVRY stable) - uncommon for a new coin. Hm, which in turn also implies enforcement of money laws of some kind. Tough, eh? Well, as long as the single 'steaders can accept any kind of money they like, it's only fair that the admins get to choose, too. Or is it? I don't have a clue. Elwar? Did I get the VRY ticker right? :-P

I see seasteads more as blank slates than no governance whatsoever. Sure, right off of the production line the platform has zero government. As soon as someone takes ownership of the platform and decides who else can come onto the platform, governance begins. My hope, however, is that most of the governance will be blockchain based. As much as possible over time.
