The current bear market looks to have interesting effects on the ASIC industry.  If it gets pump and dumped (like it just did to $20k for no reason), you have situations where there's a glut of huge amounts of mining units all with the same hardware and costs of production far above that $3k level it will likely crash to.  It then turns into a game of chicken to see who is the last to turn off their unprofitable miners.  You could view this as a cyclical culling of the inefficient in the space, but in reality, it will either just consolidate more power into a single monopoly by removing all competitors, or just bankrupt them all.

 there is a very interesting "debate" going on in Australia at the moment where a famous sports player has said because of his religious beliefs he must speak out about homosexuals and how bad they are. Those with much saner minds have pushed back at what he has said including the top referee who is openly gay.  You cannot be racist or anything else just on the grounds that you can say things because you have the right to free speech. What you say should have consequences. There is a famous saying that Kennedy used and I am sure he was a very patriotic President and a supporter of free speech in America. Bitcoin has been fluctuating near 8k for a past few days. It was similar last year around November when the price was fluctuating from 6k to 9k and then it boosted up to 19 k in the next month.

The context of today if quite different from the context of November 2017...

And, I recall August to 2017 to January 2018... had a real lot of action.. of course, Mid-August to Mid-December was mostly the UPs out pacing the DOWNS...

Sometimes, the trolls are funny retrospectively, but frequently, they are not funny while in the midst of the matter... take notlambchop, for example.... Moderator (thread owner) seems to have a way more liberal non-deletion policy than many would prefer, but I think that he is living up to what he said that he would do, and perhaps even better than expected... ... Yeah, of course a few deletions of posts, here and there would send a decent signal to some of the off-topic hate-speech, and I am sure that he does some of that, but for the most part, it is likely better to error on the side of non-deletion and each of us can decide the extent to which we partake or even acknowledge the nonsense...

And, by the way, regarding price... not a whole hell-of-a-lot of action there, recently..... price explosion imminent?  Up, down  or sideways... ?
