Quote from: my art dealer friend
IMPORTANT!
The New Anti-Money Laundering Regulations for Purchasing Works of Art
From the start of the year all European galleries, auction houses and art dealers are required to follow the same anti-money laundering requirements familiar to you when dealing with banks and lawyers. This means we are now legally obliged to carry out straightforward identification checks on all individuals and companies (from any country) buying works of art from our gallery over the value of £8000. That means we need to take a copy of a driving licence or passport, showing date of birth and permanent address.

These guys are true gentlemen.
I saw them live in the 80's sometime (as close to the date as I my failing memory can get). Brilliant.

RIP Neil

even newbs know not to say how many big ones they own
even shiny newcomers know not to wear garb that says i heart bitcoin
even noobies know just to say well i try to stack sats
even juniors say oh yeah i had some but then i lost it in a boating accident

i have several bitcoin tshirts i used to wear in public. got some thumbs up and "nice tshirt" comments from people ranging from a door greeter at costco to my one of my MDs. but that was years ago, and i rarely wear them in public now.

sucks really. we are supposed to be supporting btc any way we can, not be afraid of mentioning it.

I sometimes wonder what would happen after we press that "yes" on the new IRS form (which is weirdly worded for starters).
Sounds like a tool to separate the wheat from the chaff.

We are almost at 92% of the 4 year cycle. I find this halving particularly interesting because from that point less than 2% of new bitcoins will be created annually.

There have been very few halvings and the circumstances in the precious ones where quite different. I think this means we have plenty of excitement ahead that is not priced in at all.

My guess is that looking back from our brains relaxing in jars in 2140 this halving will be the biggest of all. The first properly low inflation rate matching infrastructure that's slowly coming good just as the world is starting to make sense of it all will be a one off in Bitcoin's life.

It's possible that all might be postponed until 2024 but I think many things will be more settled by then. The next few will still be significant before they start to fade but none will have the same convergence of circumstances.

Scent notes include geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed.
Sold out, of course. The world has sold out.

I'll be in the market for Harry and Meghan's post-sex musk when it comes out.

However I'm not sure they've ever actually had live in person sexual relations.

Actually gentd if you don't mind, what's the deal with your Megan obsession?
Are you hoping she'll be responsible for the band splitting up, like Yoko was?

I like a bit of anarchy and she's bringing it.

And the memes are good.
