Hey all, any of you guys know what Bruno’s alt is now? He changes accounts like most people change socks. I need to sent him a pm and can’t seem to find an alt more current than April 2019.

Wouldn't deign to know. But he's posted his physical address a couplea times. Probably still up, assuming his proclivities. I seem to remember 'East Sandwich IL', or some such. Try googling that anded with his name?

I don't really trust Wirex so Coinbase will do. Both have high fees at about 2-2.5% though.

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but here in the USA, pro.coinbase.com doesn't charge anything for withdrawals direct to bank account. Of course, converting from crypto to fiat will cost you a fraction of a percent.

My main exchange is Kraken and the fee to withdraw fiat is 9 cents so no issue, however I want to limit my withdrawals that way for t a x reasons.

I bought an amazon.fr card with giftoff and ordered what I needed, smooth going, they must improve their referencing, as I looked at dozen of sites without finding this gem.

edit : the fee is even negative, as I get "points" that will lower the price of my next gift card !

Interdasting. Here in the USA, any conversion of crypto is a taxable event.

Hopefully, infofront set a reasonable budget and limitation on the number of relatives to whom he would give gifts... perhaps less than 20 in order that he will still have some bitcoins left by the end of the trip.  And, don't let anyone.. maybe not even the wife know specifics about the bitcoin holdings.   Wink Wink

You will thank me later.

Protip 1: Don't ask jbreher, because he will be having you giving whole bitcoins to almost any relative, which surely can add up quickly.

Not 'almost any relative'. Just the downline. After all, they're gonna need to know how to manage it when I've left this mortal coil. And 'having you' is more than a stretch. I've never advocated others do the same. I'm just indicating what works for me.

Bought dad a 1TB SSD
...

edit: I shouldn't complain so much  at least I'm off work Smiley

Get him some sort of online backup plan. Or stick in even a slower HDD as mirrored backup thingy. (or set up a NAS in your place so he can use something like crashplan? not sure what's online these days. basically you're the cloud provider or something.)

Thanks Dabs but my plan was to speed up his computer.  I was sick of the time it was taking to do anything when he asked me to "fix" something on it.  Cloud would really slow it down wouldn't it?  Internet speed is only 25mb/s here.

Maybe also disable the damn superfetch service (google) which makes a windoze pc become a memory swapping machine over time.
One of the greatest WinNT 5 misconceptions, already "tested" from WinME upwards.
I sped up most windoze boxes that were one to three years old considerably, just by disabling this stupid memory prefetch service bug (because it's NOT a feature, imo)
SSD is fine, but backup to good old spinning hdd is mandatory and it don't stop the swap uh-huh, uh-huh. break it down, baby  Cool Grin

Well, I know he's been out of the action for a while due to real life things I'm not sure I should mention, but your best bet is to PM his Phinnaeus Gage account, as that's the one he uses most often.

He can also be reached on Telegram: @BrunoKucinskas

I thought he lost control of the Phinnaeus Gage acct long ago and went to Gleb. I’ll try Telegram. Thx

I'm pretty sure Burt gave it back.

Anyone need a computer upgrade?  I'm available.

I’ll take a wallet.dat upgrade.

If you could just replace mine with a new file containing 10,000BTC that’d be great, thanks.

You know, when you initialize a Trezor or Ledger, the generated seed could theoretically belong to someone else's wallet. Just imagine initializing your brand new Trezor and finding it already contains 10,000 BTC. Just imagine the feeling!  Shocked

Of course, the probability of this happening is near-zero, but still non-zero, so one can dream...

Of course, there is still the same nonzero probability of some other lucky guy initializing his own device to the same seed as your newly acquired wealth, so one can have nightmares as well.

Very true...

Damn it, we're in that cursed 7xxx range since Nov 21... not counting short-lived dips... that's more than a month.

I feel it's time to leave.

Hopefully we'll move to 8xxx and soon!

This is fineTM.

For me at least. I'm exactly 273% in profit at this very moment.

Surely, a similar idea, and surely, very likely to push the button.  That's my take, anyhow.

HoDL.

There are times in which I can attempt to provide accurate assessments, but assessing current level of "profits" is not one of them, even my historical attempts at assessing the matter are approximate - including when I was in about one of my lowest areas of losses at about 65.008927683058% losses on January 13, 2015.  Cannot remember the time of day for that approximate "estimate," either.   Embarrassed

Edit:  By the way, there are likely a lot of people who engage in a financial assessment at the end of the year, and maybe even wait to finalize it after the new year has passed... so maybe there could be another assessment coming up for a lot of people, including HODLers of bitcoin.

Would you feel the same about #bitcoin's current price of $7200 ?

Any way, Christmas is over, let’s get back to doing what we do best......

Observing walls, checking the price too many times a day & dreaming of the MOON!

Ahem. "The 12 Days of Christmas start on Christmas Day and last until the evening of the 5th January - also known as Twelfth Night. The 12 Days have been celebrated in Europe since before the middle ages and were a time of celebration."
Says the all knowing internet, Christmas songs in november is not the beginning if Christmas, just bloody annoying.

The Hash Ribbons indicator is currently signalling a buy. Closing the day at current price would be the first buy signal since January 11th 2019 at $3,632. Shocked

The Weekly is yet to print the buy signal (also only half way through the week), so no confluence between these time-frames yet, but still:

If these buy signals come through, I will become an uber bull  Grin

So, let's face it: Lambie was wrong this time too. No $5k no 4k or 3k. Not even $6k dammit! He's so proud of himself for "declaring baby bull market" but how many times since then he was wrong predicting bear moves? There has to be some reason a person predicts bear moves every now and then. The guy is smart, I admit. But to me he's just a smarter version of gembitz. Sorry Lambie fans.   Cool

I've only heard him tossing out the number $5k in the last day... did he do so previously? He just said it won't go to $3k. And I've got news for you: this is $6k. This is it. He's been right about calls he made 3-4 months or so ago, which is better than most can say.

Everybody is a smarter version of gembitz. My comb is a smarter version of gembitz. Yeah I guess I'm a Lambie fan. Oh well, I'll have to learn to live with it.

Well said Nutildah. 6k range did happen.

And yep, we are all smarter than gembitz. Smiley

And yeah 3k isnt gonna happen imo, somebody is misremembering my posts. 5k's might be in the cards though, it could go either way at this point in my opinion.

Id want to see some serious volume among other things before I called bottom yet.

I bought 2 more coins when the Bargain Boyz buy zone was reached but Id like to get another 8 or so if the price is right. Ill let the Boyz guide me. Obviously we all know its a metaphor for shrewd investors holding out for compelling prices, so when I said the Boyz were buying it meant I was buying too.
