No prob' Actually, you have to post something (not just being connected to the forum) after the reranking date to see your rank grows. By the way, it might be a delay between the activity rise and the rank change : for few minutes, I had 70 activity, but still a Jr Member

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post! I don't know why it was a day late for the activity update, but now I'm happy with it

I have been reading through this thread to understand things a bit more, but I am a bit confused. I joined Bitcointalk less than a month ago (August 29th), and I thought my activity would increase yesterday, but nothing happened.
Not sure how I got 28 activity after the first 2 weeks only, because I thought you could only get 14 activity points every 2 weeks. I thought maybe the system could have changed, and that's how I got 28 activity on Sept. 12th (I had around 30 somethings posts then), yet when activity was updated yesterday mine remained at 28 and I have over 70 posts now.
Could there have been a glitch and that's how I got 28 activity so fast or did I miss something else? (btw I also just commented to see if that would do the update, and nothing). Thanks!

Hello my friend. Very similar to my situation since this morning. You need to post something after the ranking date to see your rank grow. Look at your ranking now.

It is normal. The forum takes some time before displaying your updated activity. You have 42 activity now, that is what you expect, right? About newbie getting 28 activity, yes that is normal too. Every new account could get to 28 activity (2 x 2-weeks period) right after creating the account. That is not a glitch, just how the activity works (not sure why tho).

We all went through the same process. After a certain time spent on the forum, some things become clearer. I used this treat https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0 to learn more about this topic. Check it and many things will be clearer. What's certain is that without paying attention on how many posts are published, only 14 posts are taken in to the count in 14-day period. If you are posting only for ranking, you may get a warning or to be rejected from the forum.

It is explained very nicely on the first page of this thread, however I was still confused as some say that they got 28 activity in two weeks.. is that even possible?

Well, It's only possible If you posted at the end of the first activity period and the start of the second activity period. If for example I registered today, I posted 14 posts, and It happens that tomorrow there is an activity reset period and I start posting again just after it occurs, that will give me another 14. For you, It may sound that you got them in two days but for the system, It really doesn't matter because you will only a maximum of 14 activity per two weeks regardless of your registration date, It happens at the same time for everyone. Let's say that the Activity reset is between 1-14 October and the second one is between 14-28. Whether you post on 1st, 2nd or 13th October, the activity reset will occurs in the 14th.

Still trying to clearly understand how my rank changes. Will I not receive a rank change until two weeks after I opened my account? Or does it update daily based on my activity/posts?
Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum. To better understand the logic of calculating activity, I would recommend that you first read the first page of this treat. At the same time, I would recommend you to look at the beginner section. You can find a lot of interesting information there. Questions like yours are logical for beginners and we all had similar ones.

Yes, this also happens to me. I thought it would take a month before i rank up to jr member. But instead i rank up in two weeks, lucky or there's an explanation to this. Maybe it will carry over to my next rank up moment, whick mean i really have to wait a long time to rank to the the next level. Let see and wait what will happen tho.
