my guess is only a small part of the bitcoin community reads these forums, and in particular this thread

ahhh I get it, its only the small part of users on here who are not getting $$$, everyone else must be ok...

well i'm not saying that, i'm just saying everyone doesn't do the effort of browsing these forums
some people are just content with what mtgox support is saying to them (that they have a backlog) and reading the frontpage news
plus there are those who just lurk without posting

In that case here are the guys who can't withdraw out in the real world

Yuck. That facebook page is a public relations Amityville house of horror. All that is missing is blood spots.

You just need to look at MtGox's facebook page

This from a couple of days ago:

"Alexandra Sokolova   Not kidding, they are dicking me and many other around. I know someone who decided to cash out in 130k April, and wire transfer in seperate transactions thoughout late April and early May, they proccessed some of the smaller ones but all the larger ones are still pending 3 months later."

NB does not mean I believe that "5 digit+ are being given priority over the rest" talk.

Five digits (just) are not getting my withdrawal of 13 June processed.

This is even worse than I thought. Stalling on withdrawals didn't start on June 20; it goes back further.

Paul Vigna, a reporter at the Wall Street Journal, is covering this story.  I've talked to him. He can be reached at Paul.Vigna@wsj.com. He would like to hear from people who are having trouble getting substantial amounts of money out of Mt. Gox.

What's disturbing is that now *deposits* take about a week to ten days according to that chat and according to this news release:
https://support.mtgox.com/entries/21692589-Changes-to-Deposit-Transfer-Procedures
---
"In the past we were able to credit customer accounts before the funds arrived in our own bank account, meaning that it could only take 3~4 days to register. The new process may take a week to ten days to register on your account depending on your bank, as well as weekends and holidays."
---

To hear it's going to take up to 10 days for deposits to show up in one's account is rather disappointing.  It would not be a shock that with the liquidity issues, they're paying out wires with the deposits that are being received.

Anyway, it doesn't matter to me anymore.  I hadn't had any issues until Mt.Gox stalled my wires in June and after more than a month, I decided to take the hit and move everything out.  Still have hope in Mt. Gox that they'll turn this around someday.

Well, 8 weeks, still outrageous, and this is not even a USD transfer.

Questions remain:
a) Why are EUR and AUD transfers affected?
b) How can a US$1.2m per day total consideration cap possibly help when it is (allegedly) the numerical count of transfers which are "overwhelming" the bank(s)?
c) Why are deposits now being slowed down too?
d) Why no press release folllow-up since July 4th?

What I want to know is why Roger Ver would risk his reputation by vouching for Gox in this video.

What is Roger Vers reputation like?

a.) Liquidity problems.  Buy MOAR BTC to increase our arb profitzz! (I'm sure they don't have an account at Bitstamp)
b.) Lies Lies Lies.  1.2 M is a minuscule fraction of daily flows for a bank.
c.) Gox's incompetence/banks
d.) Silence is golden?  They have no idea how to shore up confidence.  They are out of excuses and have decided to play the quiet game.

I know that it is frustrating especially if you had plans with the money.

On the other hand, I can understand the massive number of "unforeseen" problems. Even if you have a normal company, which doesn't deal with "exotic" currencies, banking and payment processing can be a nightmare.

Raging about mtgox anonymously on forums won't net anything positive. If you lost faith in mtgox then use an other exchange.

I'm just trying to warn people to get their money of out Gox before its too late.  A member of the forum posted that a WSJ reporter is working on an article as we speak.  Now its only a matter of time.

See my answer to S3052: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248417.msg2804992#msg2804992

How should we transfer $ 13 million to Bitstamp? It's not possible without a collapse. If Mt. Gox kicked the bucket, then we go back to single digits or less. Then you better should recommend to get out of bitcoin.

Bitstamp has simply taken the role of Dwolla, Liberty Reserve and OKPay for Gox traders at the moment. Without Gox Bitstamp would collapse within a few hours.
