How can I easily calculate how far we are to our expected % progress in finding a block? Is it based on one of the stats on CKpool.org/pool?

It's the DIFF value.  That is an estimate to the average amount of hashing it takes to find a block at current difficulty.  I think we are 72+ right now...  but it is still all dependant on luck.  The pool could find one today, or at 120 DIFF...

Con, you used to use github, what made you switch to bitbucket for ckpool?

"Used to" must have been a long time ago, ckpool has been on bitbucket for over 3 1/2 years.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

ckpool has only ever been on bitbucket unlike the rest of my projects. If I recall correctly the reason we started it there was the code was done privately for almost a year before it was released to the public and bitbucket had better private repo features at the time. I never really saw any point moving it to github after that.

Thanks..
FYI....switch over was easy....connected no problem...miners are doing a little better actually.... seems connectivity is better and helping for slight boost in efficiency... less stales less rejected
Love the simple stats..very responsive and accurate..... worker info available almost immediately..
I could literally watch the hashing and workers increase.

Now comes the hard part..
Patience!

When the hashrate is so low, they are long to come by; however, the reward for sticking around is a handsome one  Wink

As much as I would like to see the next block found, I'm totally ok with it waiting until my new miner is here and I can get into the 'payouts' column.  Working my way up oh so slowly.   Grin

My god how is it that this pool only has 1.8Ph...

What a shame...
People are so short sighted...

Shame people just don't seem to understand the name of this game is PROPORTIONALITY...and this pool by far offers the highest rewards/hash rate.
All the fancy stats and pool sites are completely unneeded...The core stats are here and refresh every minute.
It also has great connectivity. and ZERO FEE for christs sake...

Variance on small pools can be a bitch ...but bad luck is bad luck period...And even big pools get hit bad..like Kano's recent 875% block.
The pathetically small payouts on big pools are deceptive and cumulatively more expensive..less cost efficient...

The only real problem is the constantly changing Diff..they keep moving the goal posts..this sure as shit hurts small pools big time...

CK is such a legend...They just don't get any better than this pool...

Where the hell is everyone?
WAKE UP PEOPLE! Get onboard this gravy train.

Solo is silly suicide....

So this pool has only found ONE block EVER...and it took 161% of expected shares to find..Right?
So how does that affect the PPLNS 5N situation?

And now almost two months later we are still only at..... "diff": "85.0"   so... 85% of expected right?

Ah wait just hit 86%

This is not PPLNS, but is very close, with a score based variant of PPLNS. The window is 5N and so far we haven't even filled one full window. The LNS in the pool stats means Last N Shares and tells you how many are in the current window. Block finding has no influence on the window at all.

Technically, whatever the "official" block find count is, it's that +1 for one that didn't count during the beta stage (and if I remember right, that's part of that 161% number, which would be 161% shares /2); so, there's that   Tongue
