I've been playing around with the website and flask to see if I could build something. It's only a start...

http://35.196.38.106/
Thanks for that. I hate to tell you this, but it's funny, someone else has already been working on an interface and they've made more good progress so I don't want to see you duplicate work. Hold off doing anything else with it as hopefully I should have something to put up soon.
This? http://ckpool.org/test.html

I LOVE the black and white of the current site. so cyberpunk! please! If anything, it just needs a bit of format to make it easier to read, you know, prioritise information but I would not change the font or the black and white theme.  Smiley

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I'm still unclear how you get paid from this pool? I've moved out of the 'herp' section into the block section on the pool.work page ...

please advise - thanks! Huh Huh
You hash... we find a block... you get paid. Just like every other pool on the planet.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

http://ckpool.org/users/XX  <-- Replace "XX" with your btc address.

There you'll see "derp", which is the expected reward you'll receive if a block is found. If the pool does, your reward will be queued and be paid out in a future block that this pool mines.

You will be paid if your balance is above a minimum dust amount, and your balance is among the 100 biggest OR among the 50 who has waited the longest for a payout.

We lost WETSUIT...he is over to help Kano get a block...
I'm sure he's enjoying that, schadenfreude and all that.

But it's not like I can force people to mine here. He dropped off with the datacentre outage and never came back. Not sure if it's just a failover mechanism that has to be manually switched back or whether he's had enough and gone running - which is unlike what he had said in the past about mining here. He constitutes over 85% of the current hashrate so his hashrate would be sorely missed, though he'll still get a massive reward on our next block find, whenever that is.

Some say the the miners mine better between 55-60c. Others below 50c. Some say change Frequency as high as you can keeping temp below 70c. Others say that some will mine better below the default Frequency.

This is what mine shows, removed Wallet Address and name of second pool. Started on this pool a few days ago, "herp": 628989567.1150126 (what ever that means in payment if we ever find a block)

https://imgur.com/a/E9aCI

What would you recommend on settings for me?

You want it as cold as possible. You could even cool it using eg. watercooling, it's just that the tiny gain is not worth it.

Look at "derp" to find your expected reward.

My S7s run 60 in the freezing temps of the winter  Tongue
Upper 70's in the summer.
Once you get 2.5x positive ROI, who cares?
This whole space would be better if people weren't emotionally attached to equipment and thought of it like a pen (when it's used up, you get another one; it falls under the heading of COGS).

There appears to be a datacentre outage at the pool, sorry about any inconvenience. Waiting on support now.

It seems to be coming back now, and the pool was running unabated consistent with a network outage.

Did you ever find out what caused the outage?

If you are not mining at ckpool.org, you are just doing it wrong.

Main datacentre connectivity, which is why both the solo pool and this pool were affected.

Did they have a good story of why? One time a snow plow took out the data center at our local college for about 12 hours by crashing into a telephone pole.

Hopefully he/she comes back.  It's sad seeing the Thread renamed to 0PH but I guess on the bright side it should be easier to move up on getting paid if we find another couple of blocks.  tbh I'm here more as a hobby than to get paid at this point.  I need more hashing power...lol

Nope, I'm afraid not. Still awaiting an explanation, somewhere from Cogent, not my hosting provider.

Thanks, just noticed the new merit thingy. I'll set up a script to monitor my hash and notify me so that hopefully this doesn't happen again.

I'm in the same boat. Hobbyist, but jonesing for more hashing power.

So how does one obtain 5+PH? Like I mentioned, I'm a hobbyist and the fastest stand-alone miner I've seen does about 14TH/s. Do they have a warehouse with hundreds or thousands of S9s on shelves? Are there other industrial mining machines?

well could be a warehouse of gear

or rental gear.

MMR

and  Nicehash   rent gear to miners

I got sick of watching the diff numbers go up. I rented 13.5TH for 14 hours. Come on, block. Block block block.
