Shocked When someone says "I'll throw in my 50+T to test it out..."
And I have my poor little lonely 1T slaving away to earn a pretty penny hoping it doesn't brake and pays at-least for the electricity cost. "I hope the penny is pretty".  Embarrassed

Cool
Giving it a spin with ~2PH for 24 hrs.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

I don't know. Maybe you can just check it? I doubt there will be any virus or malware, it's been updated last time 2 years ago.

It is not. It was made from when kanopool was called kano ckpool and everyone referred to the pool as ckpool.

If you are not mining at ckpool.org, you are just doing it wrong.

Hello all

Noobie here. Been looking ast ckpool for a while. I have 2 x s9s going on multipool at the moment.
Would it be any more worth pointing at ckpool?
I plan to get a few more s9s in the coming weeks.
Just struggling to understand how ckpool pool works.
Pls pplns etc btc boohahah is confusing. Lol.

Cheers in advance.
Here's the lowdown:

You hash for us, if and when we find a block you get a payout. Blocks happen every few weeks on average. Do it long enough and you earn more than elsewhere.
But what about auto-switch pools such as the one mentioned above, Multipool, and Zpool?
Multipool often shows a 120-130% bigger profitability on Digibyte/BitcoinCash compared to BTC, and once you subtract the ~1.5% pool fee, won't you be left with a (likely) larger earning there, despite this pool having a 0% fee?

Also, will you be adding merged mining?

(btw, currently mining at ckpool Wink )

Does Multipool sell your coins on the spot? No. So you end up with this scenario:
Hey! I mined BCH coins! Yesterday it was 20% more profitable to mine them. So I mined BCH. What do I do now?

And then you manually or automatically transfer them to your exchange, pay exchange fees, and you have your BTC. And since you mined BCH, exchange rate could have changed, how you will even know at what price you still have 20% advantage over mining on standard BTC pool? Smiley It requires constant checking and frequent withdrawals.
If you are small miner, you can't afford frequent small withdrawals, so you either end up with loads if shitcoins on Multipool or you actually mine at a loss comparing to standard BTC pool.

Autoswitch is nonsense as it assumes you exchange to BTC at that exact moment rather than hash at that exact moment. If you want to hash a shitcoin in some other fashion that's your business and I can't help you, whether switching or merging which ckpool will never do.

Thanks for mining with us then Smiley

Very true. multipool doesn't auto exchange, but zpool do. But yes, it is probably delayed.

Why won't you do merged mining? It's still pure btc mining, except being rewarded extra altcoins for inserting an extra hash into the blockheader. Or am I missing something?

As above, Zpool auto exchanges Wink

But still, could be for instance a 0.5% fee pure Bitcoin pool, but with all merged-mining coins enabled with auto exchange to Bitcoin.
That way, you'd have 99.5% profitability + another 1-10% depending on whatever those merged coins are worth.
Eg http://mmpool.org/ had lots of merged coins, but they disabled it and have a 1.5% fee.

There's a lot that you're missing, but I will not get into that.
If you want to mine CoinX, then mine CoinX. If CoinX lacks a network to the point that it has to become a gimmick coin and "merge mined", then it isn't worth mining in the 1st place.

I've said this before but I'll explain it again more clearly this time for future reference. Merged mining consumes extra pool resources and slows down block changes and may lead to more orphans unless you want to start mining empty blocks as well. Overall empty blocks will end up costing you more than any amount you earn from merged mining random $shitcoin. All in all, merged mining is a complete waste of time and resources. It's marketing bullshit for worthless crap, making it look like it's contributing to your earnings when it's not.

Dang. We got some heavy hitters swooping in on my little 2pacs like birds of prey on field mice. Up until yesterday I was steadily making my way up the postponed list. The last couple days the number of miners has increased, but my position has either stayed the same or gone down a couple positions. I'm all for adding more resources to the pool. Yay! Block block block. I just wanna keep moving up. Looks like I'll need to make another hardware investment. Or buy some rental time.

Ck

Are you saying that this pool, is merged mining and is not worth the time? Or other pools, such as slush, ant, btc, etc are all merged mining? How would you define this pool?

I have another 200ish THs i'm considering moving over, but i'm still confused on payout.

1 rig running 30 TH/s:  "derp": 0.00065857, - about 12 hours now

the other rig 50 TH/s "derp": 0.00124579, - also about 12 hours now.

The derp seem a lot less than the merged mining pool. So if a block were found, I could figure a more significant reward?

thanks in advance.
