It seems so. I gave iXcoin for dead, but maybe there is still a chance.

http://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/ixcoin-difficulty-chart

Probably Marshall cause it seems the Chinese are planning an iXfuneral.

That's funny cause the same thought crossed my mind.  Maybe after IXC replaces Bitcoin.  lol

At this rate, in one week the difficulty will be back at the same value we had before Nov 5th.

That's not bad but it's still pretty low.  I remember we nearly equaled Namecoin at one point.

One more scary shakeout in a long line of many scary shakeouts?

Just a wild guess.  I am now numb to imminent IXC death scenarios.

I  think the hiccup was most likely testing the new colored coins feature

iXcoin is in the process of implementing colored coins (http://chromawallet.com) natively.  We call this Native User Defined Currencies (NUDC), to differentiate this from the conventional Colored Coin specification.   The advantage of this approach compared to other alternate approaches (Mastercoin, BitShares and others) is that we start off with a much solid and well tested foundation.   That foundation is based on Satoshi’s Bitcoin protocol that has been tried and tested over time.

However, by implementing the solution using a merged mined coin like iXcoin,  we do not pollute the Bitcoin block chain.   Rather,  similar to Namecoin that provides secure distributed name registration,  iXcoin will provide the ability for users to create their own secure decentralized currencies.   One way to think of this is that, iXcoin will serve as the ‘Mother of All Alt-Coins’.

NUDC also has advantages over the Colored Coin approach over Bitcoin in that the implementation is more scalable and secure when implemented as part of the core technology rather than an add on as in the latter approach.   The NUDC approach also makes possible the creation of lightweight clients that do not require downloading of the entire block chain.   Finally, NUDC is also more economically feasible,  creating 1 million company shares using Colored Coins will cost over 1,000 times more than creating the same 1 million shares using NUDC.

In addition to user defined currencies,  iXcoin will layer on top our own framework of Smart Contracts.  This allows for more complicated financial protocols such as options, futures, bonds and smart properties to be easily implemented.  For more information regarding Smart Contracts,  please refer to this page:  http://www.ixcoin.co/?page_id=148

Finally, iXcoin will also pursue the development of a complimentary technology to User Defined Currencies.  This will be a system that will enable the creation of decentralized exchanges.  There are plenty of existing ideas in this space ranging from the use of federated Open Transaction servers to the user of Ripple Gateways.  We believe that decentralized exchanges are outside of the scope of the original Satoshi Bitcoin protocol and therefore are investigating other ways to enable this capabiltiy.  For future information about Decentralized Exchanges please consult:  http://www.ixcoin.co/?page_id=149

In this race to create the most advanced crypto-currency,  we believe iXcoin by chosing a more conservative approach to implementation, will deliver functionality ahead of every other competitor.  Not only will the solution be more timely,  but it will be more robust than any competitor.

Frictionlesscoin had many ideas: only a client update, a website and a forum came to life.
AFAIK all the other projects have been discontinued.

I remember Friction would have bouts of genius followed by amnesia and sheer laziness or self inflicting sabotage.  Almost like his job was to mislead and dissapoint.

Let's face it, until we get funding nothing will happen.  I may try to get a hold of Blythe Masters, I think Jamie Dimon would really love an older market tested carbon copy of Bitcoin.

I fear that iX appears ready to meet the fate predicted by so many of death although it appears slow

cryptsy is a useless exchange  --- you cannot  withdraw

cex == excellent exchange but low demand / volume

shapeshift appears to have dropped ix coin

as I have other projects to work on I am sorry I think it time to turn my back on ix now, permanently.

Vlad when you have time generate a strong pgp key and send it to me,

I have something I must send you  , please when you have time (but don't take forever)

generate a public and private key pair,   send me just the public key and I will encrypt what I have to send you with this which you can decrypt using your private pgp key...........

please use the precautions I suggested/taught you on how to do this in the past .......

I would like to return this to you soon as I am preparing to divest myself 100% from Ix

best to all --- i may return someday but it appears a lost cause

We lost cinnamon?  I'm gonna be sick.

I'll send you a PGP soon(ish), Cinnamon, I'm still in LaLa land right now and can't get much done.

I can see why you feel the way you do about iXcoin but I hate losing you.  If things ever turn around I hope you come back.  You have been a great help to me and I'll never forget it.  I'll miss you.

Thanks for everything...

Since it doesn't appear we're getting a new website anytime soon, I've created a new supplimental thread to consolidate iXcoin information into one place.  A new user would need to search through too many posts and websites to get a clear picture of iXcoin, or even download the latest wallet.  The new thread will provide the most important information in one place.  It will supplement our TODO thread, not replace it.

I've added the new thread to the 'Announcements' board because it can be used for announcements, and because that board recieves many more hits than the 'Altcoin Discussion' board.  This will give iXcoin a bit more visibility.

It's just a start.  I'll add more to it later.  Let me know what you think.

Shapeshift.io has delisted iXcoin? Maybe it will be spared of new scandals.
Do you realise that Charlie Shrem went to prison for doing something that Shapeshift.io does on a regular basis?

Except shrem was told that the money he was receiving came from illegal activity. That was what got him in the clink.
