I agree with that solution, Deadsea.  I think the community needs to give their input and their opinions should be carefully weighed by Thomas and the Foundation.

Many out there still think ixc is a scam cause of the premine which i think is absurd given many other very popular coins had much bigger premines or instamines.

But I digress...

Let's get people here posting their thoughts on the matter and I'll take it to Thomas.

As for Thomas hardly being here.  I assure all of you he has perfect cause and reason to stay away.  Much more is going on behind the scenes than we realize and Thomas does his best to post whenever he is able to.

And besides, until iXcoin's price either picks up or we get [an active] partner, a hundred daily posts from Thomas won't make one iota of difference.  So I rather not see Thomas take unnecessary risks:  I'll do that for him.

Everyone, please give your input regarding the premine.

Cheers!

My personal opinon is thomas sets the level for bounty's far too high. Infact its what partially put me off working on ixcoin as much as id have liked to. (Although my studies and my job also plays a big role in my time). He doesnt put the work in himself and quite honestly restricts the work other people would like to do.

E.g. the requirement to be on the ubuntu PPA. thats something i know i will likely never have time to do.

I've been asked to add a couple more members to the foundation.

Please PM me your qualifications if you're interested.

I would really like people who have skills that can help us but more importantly than that are people that can be trusted and who have never tried to push any personal agenda with iXcoin.

Cheers!

Hey man, long time no see.

I'll post an IXC address when I get home.

Glad to see you haven't given up on iXcoin.  Things look rough right now but I think everything will be ok.

One more very important qualification which I'm gonna have to insist on for any future ixc board member.

There's no better way to ensure that someone believes in and acts in the best interest of iXcoin and its community than to have that person significantly vested in iXcoin.

I don't want to set a hard limit but I think any board member should own at least 50,000 ixc.  That's only about 3 Bitcoin's worth right now, which is not much to risk.

Ideally I would like to see more than that but I understand some simply don't have the means.  And of course, I would prefer seeing someone who has held iXcoin for a longer period of time, a "true believer"; however, if an individual has the right qualifications I don't mind if your iXcoin holdings are just a few days old.

Cheers!

I think we found a good solution to the premine issue.

The doubt is that Thomas will use the premine to dump it and enrich himself.

I will ask Thomas to put the whole premine into a multi-sig wallet which would be under the control of multiple foundation members.  That way Thomas can never sell those coins and they will belong to the community, to benefit every iXcoin holder.

I'll PM Thomas and I'll let you guys know what response I get back.

Cheers!

Sure thing Vlad, glad to be of assistance. I like grassroots, grass gets everywhere eventually, by the time you get high enough however, grass can't survive, it's too cool... That's when you need the ice cold cash to build higher. We need to capitalize on our own enthusiasm and build it, if we do, they will come, they always do, we'll need gates by then...

A few ideas here to consider, the lawyer-ing of the foundation is important as Wall street is muscling in and starting to show its claws, teeth and courtroom skills, which is good and bad at the same time. Knowing how to take advantage and when, that's what were here for. we need to strike the iron when it's hot and right now it's glowing : )

So I'll reiterate what Vlad was asking, anyone know of a trusty lawyer (oxymoron) what I mean, does anyone know a friend/acquaintance with some zeal for cryptos that has the necessary skills to assist in writing this Foundation into legality?

Well, PAYcoin just got added to GoUrl.io.

You can also buy votes, kind of like in Congress ; ) a vote is .0004 BTC. They state that for 14BTC, that's 35000 votes, the coin will receive priority at their gateway.

So far PEER coin is leading the pack with 2999 votes. Were we to support this it would cost us only 1.2 BTC to reach the top of the pile.

About the mission statement of iXcoin, Thomas initially declared:

"Ixcoin is intended to closely mirror code updates to Bitcoin to allow for easy interoperability with Bitcoin-related third party services and APIs."

Any opinion on this?

None of that is gonna do much for iXCoin.  We've had bigger news and we didn't even get a cheap article on the cheapest crypto site written about us.

With iXCoin it's gonna be all or nothing.  It's either gonna get dropped by CEX and die or it's gonna beat all the alt-coins in the world and give Bitcoin a run for its money.

The latter looks like it's gonna take longer than I expected - so think longer term.  Like 6-12 more months.

I personally think CEX et al are waiting for Bitcoin to take off before they launch anything major, all alts need that Bitcoin froth and hype to maximize their marketing dollars and market-cap potential.

Edit:  I sent you a PM, Verum...

I can't sleep and this whole thing just hit me like a brick!!!!

I think I cracked the meaning of ix.

Think about this:  Russia recently stated that Bitcoin is secretly the new Currency of the U.S.  I too have be saying this since 2013.

Now, I doubt Russia and China are lacking in spies and I doubt this news would come after a guy like me realizes it so they must have known for years.

This begs the question:  Where is Russia's Coin?  Where is China's?

Sure they can launch one now but any great coin has to be field tested in the wild for years, just like Bitcoin.

And it has to be, preferably, a secret, until the last moment to ensure quicker mass adoption and "proper" distribution.

So I searched the meaning of IX and how it relates in Russian, Chinese [and Japanese] history and culture.

In Japanese ix [or 9] sounds like "Pain" so the Japanese would never use ix.

So Thomas is clearly not Japanese.  Sorry Thomas, I really do like you, regardless.

In Russian, I found no Significant historical or cultural meanings.

But in Chinese:  Oh Shit, I think I cracked the code of IX, [you bastards].....lol

Get a load of this and tell me if there is any doubt, and why for 4 years we can never get a straight answer to why IX was chosen:

Chinese culture

IX - Nine (九 pinyin jiǔ) is considered a good number in Chinese culture because it sounds the same as the word "longlasting" (久 pinyin jiǔ).

Nine is strongly associated with the Chinese dragon, a symbol of magic and power. There are nine forms of the dragon, it is described in terms of nine attributes, and it has nine children. It has 117 scales - 81 yang (masculine, heavenly) and 36 yin (feminine, earthly). All three numbers are multiples of 9 (9×13=117, 9×9=81, 9×4=36)[1] as well as having the same digital root of 9.

The dragon often symbolizes the Emperor, and the number nine can be found in many ornaments in the Forbidden City.

The circular altar platform (Earthly Mount) of the Temple of Heaven has one circular marble plate in the center, surrounded by a ring of nine plates, then by a ring of 18 plates, and so on, for a total of nine rings, with the outermost having 81=9×9 plates.

The name of the area called Kowloon in Hong Kong literally means: nine dragons.

The nine-dotted line (Chinese: 南海九段线; pinyin: nánhǎi jiǔduàn xiàn; literally: "Nine-segment line of the South China Sea") delimits certain island claims by China in the South China Sea.

The nine-rank system was a civil service nomination system used during certain Chinese dynasties.

-------

I'm pretty sure if China launches or has launched a crypto-coin their favorite name will be 9, or IX.

The whole bullshit with the I symbol [the cross of Loraine] was to throw guys like me off.  That, IXC, the whole hidden meaning about the colonies, it made me believe the Jesuits launched iXcoin, the West.

Clever bastards...very clever indeed...

Well,
What can I say. Nice theory. Time will tell us if you aimed the target.
What I read on the telegraph article is what shocked me. A euro-like new currency for Asia, if made in the traditional way, would take up to 10-12 years. I'm not sure they can wait that long. Maybe a cryptocurrency could be a nice shortcut.

The dollar won't last that long and they must know that Bitcoin will take over by then.

And what communist regime doesn't like a global tracking tool like the permanent Bitcoin ledger?

China has I believe the biggest black market in the world.  That's just one massive reason to launch a CryptoCoin.

China has already recast all their gold into smaller 1 kilo bars in preparation to launch a new currency.

They're ready to launch very soon.  Whatever currency they're gonna go with will happen very very soon.

Why would anyone hide the reason why they named the coin iX?

I knew it had to be because it would give it all away.

If I told you that I chose iX back in 2011 simply because there were no more good crypto domains available at the time, would you believe me?

Well I'll give you one Vlad, the Chinese culture surely is the preeminent mother-load of number related superstitions, deeply embedded entrenched and believed by the billions. Time will tell, surely the dragon has awakened although I'm not sure it ever slept, it was just taking opium den naps until a few mutton chops poked it in the eyeballs...
