We have some really smart people on this thread right now, so let's put it to some good use.

Assuming we have the cooperation of CEX.io [which we do] - what's the best CounterParty code update option?

Until now, this option was but a dream so lets see if the final solution has now improved.

Let's do this:  Let's make iXcoin more advanced, and a better, more complete Payment System than Bitcoin.

Here's the problem with the exchange theory.

These wallets show a very consistent growth in iXcoins.

An exchange would see wild fluctuations as people sell, transfer and withdraw large amounts.  Like I pulled out 500,000 IXC in just 1 day and I did the same from vircurex when I moved to Cryptsy.
If it was the ixcoin cold wallet for an exchange you wouldn't see constant withdrawals. With a large number of peope merge mining to their exchange address this would create a surplus in the hot wallet which would periodically be sent to the cold wallet in large chunks.

Ok, that makes sense.

Is there any way we can find out how many iXcoin holders we have.  Just a rough estimate.

How many individual merge miners do you think we have right now?  Merge Miners will be most of our coin holders right now.

Thanks!

Friction, Jamaer, etc.,

I'm seeing so many coins coming out which will never be secure.  These people are programmers and they don't understand the need for a highly secured network.

I was thinking it's only a matter of time before someone offers a solution.  Is there some way to charge a security fee and create some sort of Transporter Protocol which allows many unsecured alts to ride on the iXcoin blockchain?

I don't know anything about programming but in theory it sounds plausible to me.

So essentially, iXcoin would literally engulf or house all these various coins within its own blockchain.  In a sense, a macro view, they would be just one coin:  iXcoin.

We're gonna have thousands of unsecured coins next year so a secured coin like iXcoin could make a killing providing a Transporter Service.  Just an idea that hit me which sounds interesting.

Thanks!

The reality is this: once the profitable mining is over, the coin, knowing it will have a 'guaranteed' hashrate, will become rare and difficult to buy. No more ~14000 new coins a day. With the support of Cex.io, I just wonder where it can go. To the moon!

Maybe that's why CEX.io likes iXcoin.

How many 3+ year old coins are out there, incredibly well distributed, ultra secure and also [very importantly for mass adoption] a coin the masses can understand since you just have to tell them:  It's exactly like Bitcoin, only cheaper.

There is a lot one can implement on iXcoin - even more so than Bitcoin.

Like Jamaer's idea for IXCP, that works best for a coin which has reached full maturity and is also very well and deeply distributed.  Because for IXCP to really take off you need mass participation.

So in September you can add one more huge competitive advantage iXcoin will have over all other alts and also over Bitcoin as well.

I've had 2 Bitcoins to spend and for a week now I wanted to buy some IXC but haven't been able to.  So I bought some really sold off alts like DevCoin, CasinoCoin, etc.

I can't imagine what it will look like when we remove nearly 14,000 per day of mined coins off the market.  Cause right now I think that's the majority of the coins which pop up for sale on any given day.

Looking at all the charts, iXcoin has tracked Bitcoin nearly perfectly:  The only alt-coin to do that long term.  And this is with a high inflation rate relative to Bitcoin - iXcoin should have dropped significantly in value relative to Bitcoin all this time, just like all the other alt-coins have, longer term.

So imagine iXcoin's potential when the inflation goes negative [relative to Bitcoin].

Once mining is done in a few months the available coins will dry up and any uptick in demand could create a massive spike in the price of iXcoin.

I'm pretty excited right now!

Yes, I just piddled in my man-panties.

What is up with coinmarketcap dot com site, it isn't showing IXCoin and DeVCoin and such on the first page where their market caps should put them, instead halfway down the second page it suddenly starts its market cap size over again at caps that should be way up on the first page?

This makes IXCoin and various others that should be on the first page look entirely missing since no one should be even looking on the second page for coins whose market caps they know to be higher than many that are on the first page...

Is coinmarketcap just a scammy or crappy scam or broken useless site or something? If so what site if any has real values of such stats?

Coinmarketcap started doing a low volume page recently.

I suppose it was to keep the crappy coins out of the way.  But those will be at the bottom of the page either way.

It does hurt iXcoin cause a lot of newbies use that lost for coins they'd like to look at before buying and that second page looks like the rejects page.

We really need a good competing site for Coinmarketcap.

Welcome back, Mark. I don't remember your opinion about Counterparty ported to iXcoin. Have one to share?

For everyone who has been offered a board seat [multiple times] I need to know what and who I have to work with, so - given it has already been months [since the original offers] I will extend the time to accept by one more week.  That's more than enough time for anyone...even Thomas, to figure out if they're serious enough about iXcoin to dedicate the necessary time and effort to make it succeed.

Regards!

I wonder if board members are entitled to some stipends payable in IXC?

lol, no, board members on the contrary will be expected to work for free.  Much like this open source thing.  We can't even afford to pay programmers or buy ads so there's no way we can pay board members.

Bitcoin charges its Platinum Board members $100,000 per year.  That's right, people pay big money to be on the Bitcoin Foundation Board, they don't get paid, so no, we will not be able to pay board members.

This is why it's all voluntary, just like the open source projects.

Until we get more organized and get some kind of budget, the board [at this point] is very much like any open source project:  Pitch in whatever you can of your time, money or skills, and provide insight and advice regarding the strategy and direction of iXcoin.

Once we have the means and money to execute on a specific strategy then the board would be more active in official meetings, decision making and things of that nature.

Do we have a final Counterparty/Coloredcoin-like feature we can agree on?
Vlad, what does Jeffrey think about it? And Cinnamon? What about Mark?
I think people has given 25k ixc bounty to see something fulfilled, and soon.

Spoken like a true CEO !

We all have other things in life, I know I am busy as hell but sometinmes instead of worrying about what you are going to 'get' or can 'take' you end up with so much more in the end by 'giving' ,

so if giving means just helping out with some coding or promotion or input when we have something of value......

we may find in the end that if we give a little we may end up receiving more than we ever thought possible.......

About Mintpal. This community could get the coin on it.
On Mintpal the coins there could be divided in three categories:
- coins under pumping;
- coins under dumping;
- coins none of the above categories.

A coin like iXcoin could be easily pumped on Mintpal. In the short run, fine, easy profit. In the long run I am afraid many of the coins on Mintpal will be labeled as scamcoins, used to get easy bitcoins in exchange of scam.
So, if iXcoin gets there, I wonder if it is going to improve its credibility. Probably yes, it's free advertise, but only if people are going to see a solid project and development of financial tools.

About Friction.
Friction, what can you tell us about you? What is your goal with iXcoin?
I think you hold a good number of iXcoins. It seems you are always looking for money. I mean, it's right you make a living. The question is: do you really believe in this project, or you are just here for the money?
Normally open source projects are made by a team, working together. It seems you do not look for such cooperation. I even wonder if you will accept that seat on the board now knowing you will not get a monthly income. I have seen people here working hard and then asking for small donations. You received 15k ixc donation, and the donors do not even know what exactly you are going to make, when, and for what kind of useful purpose. Sometimes you seem to me a little bit short-sighted. Maybe you are just here waiting ixcoin will hit 1$, dump them all, and say bye bye.

Make me happy: prove me wrong.

As stated from the very begining, I am trying to raise 25K IXC to port CounterParty over to IXC.   On further discussion,  the port will not include a special meta-coin as found in the original CounterParty release.

The purpose is that this is an incremental step towards the original goal of support native user defined currencies.

I will be plain and simple honest,  I am here for the money.   What other reason should there be?

Do I believe in IXC?  I only like IXC because of the security that it already has.  I don't think there is any underlying mysterious and profound meaning behing IXC.  It is just a coin like every other alt-coin, however it has ridiculous amount of hashing power backing it.

I don't have a lot of IXC.  All the IXC coins I have are mostly from donations.   In short,  the more donations, the more I am committed to make IXC survive.

However,  be reminded that I'm responsible for the following:

(1) Upgrading the 3 year old IXC client to 0.8.6 of Bitcoin.   The original bounties have been paid in full.
(2) Creating the www.ixcoin.co website.  The original website disappeared for a while.
(3) Comissioning the new IXC logo.

In short,  I get stuff done.

I think most people should be thrilled that IXC is trading where it is trading:  #27  Ixcoin  $ 1,205,176

My feeling regarding Cryptsy is that they're trying to maximize profits. Why let other exchanges monopolize profits off massive trades in CrapCoins when you can add those coins as well and let people decide.  Cry
