Maybe the distribution of the receiver files was a few days late, so nodes could not find the latest ones?

-MarkM-

That what I figured.  I thought since the receive isn't showing up but the mining rewards are that possibly we were missing out receivers csv... What can we do to fix that so we sync? Also, I like the ides of deflation, but we need to put something like Counterparty and the branch @sidhujag left for us or at least wrap our value to the SysCoin Core #NEVM bridge fromSHA-256 merge mined L1 to EVM tokens that will increase our coins value. I could've sworn our longevity, our average hashrate for the # of blocks we have secured etc, would matter for some intrinsic value. It can't all be about cash i nor spot exchange prices...

It’s about many things.  A million good and a few potentially catastrophic to humanity if allowed.  We choose if we have the balls, but looking the planet, without guns the masses are powerless.

Ergo, expect a massive darkest black swan event in the US to get rid of guns in a year or two.   cough, voluntary.  Like voluntary vaccines now.  Get a vaccine or lose your job.  Blow job or lose your job.  No violation of your rights, it’s voluntary.

See the dual-speak.  Dual standards.  Hague - we are not forcing anyone to get vaccinated.  Judge, I did not make my secretary give me 3 fat bj’s per day.  It was her choice - she could have just quit her job.  And ended up in tent rape city.  America, we are the most just and free country.  Sheeeedeit.

Man, it’s gonna be so intense I’m gonna wanna come to America and join the killing party only I have a 12 year old girl here I can’t bring into that hell with me and I’m still weak and sick.

Vlad  ~  the invincible, the unstoppable - now just turned into mashed tator tots.  Sad.

Yo, Dan, what’s deflating?  I thought the cut in the dvc growth rate was cancelled.  Over time. As we approach infinity I realize the inflation approaches zero forever.  But right now there’s no deflation but the inflation is coming to be acceptable.

My question is why 2 trillion coins?  That’s insane?  First thing to mind comes global distribution.  But backed by what and what’s use-case?

Would be nice to have a rational answer to the above two questions.  After-all, This was the first coin I bought like 9 years ago and secondly, at 5 million coins I’m a whale.  I deserve prompt accurate answers from someone smart on the team.  Like Traxo but minus the sarcasm.  Just this once.

Vlad - I’m contemplating buying 1 trillion DVC once my best in class portfolio moons freiexchange into the titan’s moon!  Cause that’s how I do.  Smiley

Slower block times. My node not even accepting them. The 50K to 2500K reduction. It wouldn't take much burning on my behalf to give us a deflationary day. Sorry I was being loose with my wording. Im tired. But consider this dear friend. Do you know how many USD exist. What the max supply of dollars? We don't know. So the fuck is inflation anyhow? A measure of how little money we have when the rich stuff their pockets and fund projects that people don't get to take part of or work on?

Seriously. I can't put a # on "coins"  because if the value is just black and white and we're talking Bretton Woods here, then we might as well buy computers with 256 MB hard drives and set a cap on how much content we generate/print locally and send over the web. We don't want bitflation do we? Wink

EDIT: Mark I've been here awhile now and I say this with the utmost respect. You created this thing. If you think something is broke or needs fixing you'd be the one to know how. You're our Elon Musk. Now get up in that shit! Did you not once write,

"From simple abstractions, great power may bloom. Sometimes, this power comes not
from wholly new ideas, but rather from the emergent insights that arise when bits of
common wisdom from disjoint communities come together"

If I observe that your words re coming true from every angle surrounding us and this project, who calls bs and makes everyone show their hand?

“Will remain listed or trading?”  DVC easily has the longest record of not 1 coin traded.  Lol

Thanks tho for using those deep pockets and connects.  Wink

As an American citizen they're more than deep enough. The one's you see on TV and shaking hands? Direct your snot attitude at them.

Truth my man.  Just making a point.  Not good to cause division in legit crypto coins.

My apologies.  I hope ixc and I0C get the same redirect.  I did my best to put some volume on the the last few months but it wasn’t much.

I’m an American citizens too, don’t wanna give it up but I’ve I ever make the big load I rather donate it than pay taxes in 2 countries.

I just was messing around with your sock lol.

But for real we're stuck shortly since the round began: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dvc/block.dws?488531

I cannot sync for three days... But I am fully synced to the latest (last) block. I wonder if chains are meant to stop. Thus deflationary because if there was a corresponding time chain like in Duality - if one stops, maybe it's deflationary for the merged chains when their value is synchronized?

The Raw Block part usually shows Bitcoin Transactions and some merge mining info. But now it says "unknown" - my software "getblock" RPC shows more info:

What's going on here? I've never seen some of the things here until the blocks had stalled before this past summer and for the first time I noticed "chainindex": 18 (its usually just "50")...

This is the first time I've seen a P2SH or segwit address on a Devcoin block. I wish for once someone would explain the code like I'm 5 and admit why we're getting Bitcoin transactions on Devcoin "blocks" instead of the actual DVC txn and further more I'd like to know why for the first time our chain stopping seems to always be when our raw blocks have the "chainindex": 18 and "coinbaseindex": 0 ... It is odd that suddenly we're getting P2SH (native segwit) addresses on our blocks from Bitcoin too. We usually just get the coinbase tx (block reward) and an OP_RETURN output  and the merge mine data.

Here's the missing Raw Transaction Data since Chainz says "unknown" for that as well got it form my RPC console

Maybe the distribution of the receiver files was a few days late, so nodes could not find the latest ones?

-MarkM-

Don't delete. Just realized you're right because there's only one, not two output for every coinbase transaction since round 122. Hmm.

I think it is when the distribution files cannot be found or not enough of them agree that shares don't get given out and miners only get 2500 instead of 5000.

I do not know what happened to make the distribution files not be found or disagree though.

How far back was it happening? Or did it maybe just start when the distribution files started trying to give out 1/10ths of a share?

-MarkM-

Remember caston had receiver files and he put them on a perthexchange website to host them. He said he lost his password for this forum but he came back and talked to you this past year in the Tenebrix thread.

Here's what I'm talking about:

Unthinking bit:

I have a nearly free speech account. I have uploaded it to that for now.

http://www.perth-exchange.org/receiver_3.csv

Also I can probably upload to a site  khal (dot-bit forum site admin) has given me but I haven't used yet.

Does that look ok?

Anywhere else?

My coin tracking program tells me DVC is worth like 0.6 cents so I'm wondering where in the world that valuation comes from. No one on Frei exchange has bought DVC at 1 satoshi since June. It's only "worth" 1 sat on Frei exchange because that exchange won't let you go lower than 1 sat. But if I were to put some DVC for sale at that price it would probably take several years for it to actually sell.

So I'm a little confused right now...

I have another question. I notice DVC is no longer listed on coinmarketcap.com I'm wondering if there is another ranking service that lists it. I'd also like to know where DVC is actively traded.

Thanks!

https://freiexchange.com/market/DVC/BTC

Coinmarket removed coins with $4.99 volume or less.  You can trade it on freiexchange- they’re adding most old coins.  Genius move in my opinion. That exchange just might end up being in the top 5 with the treasures it’s holding which few see.

Wish they'd add TBX FBX, some real ancients Smiley Mark has them in his own treasuries.

Taxes on crypto are getting too complicated and dangerous:
https://www.reddit.com/r/tax/comments/9tcnu8/did_i_ruin_my_life_by_trading_crypto/

The problems are the following:

1. The tax code for crypto is ambiguous, there is no widely agreed upon way to calculate taxes.
2. When exchanges fail, the trading information is lost, so it can be impossible to calculate trading gains and losses.
3. Accounting fees can be very high for crypto trading, sometimes more than the actual money made.
4. It is possible to owe more in taxes than was actually cashed out.
5. The rules change, and some of those changes are retroactive, so even if taxes are filed correctly today, in future tax collectors can claim that the taxes were not filed correctly and impose arbitrary penalties.

Devcoin is worth very little, but the accounting fees and risks are still high. It's a lot of hassle for little gain.

Because of this, unfortunately, I am going to resign from devcoin, until taxes are simplified or there's a big tax free cryptocoin jurisdiction, which I don't expect to happen for a long time if ever.

I don't want anyone to get in trouble because of something I'm doing or developing. I'll do the accounting for round 94, after that devcoin developers can handle the receiver files however they want.

I'm sorry for leaving. I wish there was another way, but I don't see one.

didn't you know devcoin is based out of portugal? = tax free zone :-D lel n00b!!

Dude been getting ALOT of "pt" ccTLD or URL with pt lately. I mean todays Brazilians back to the Illustrious generation - those we're some ballsy explorers.  I wonder if Charlie Lee being from the Ivory Coast has anything to do with us being bound to that location geo-historically. Or uh. Ya know, to a block AWARD we still cannot spend - at least on BTC chain. Maybe we can redeem our own one day and reveal history from a counter-Columbian perspective. Those Portuguese and their weird language/secrets. I know much of their Royal intermarrying and hell - they have the LONGEST fuckin alliance with "England" that I have ever seen continually in action over the years. Bilaterally bound. I thought Columbus chose Castile to get around the Papacy dividing half of the hemisphere for Spain and half for Portugal. Would you let him repair his ships in the Azores if you owned them and he just screwed your treaty? The Azores are the only islands I know on 3 different continental plates, let alone the exile for the last Habsburg Emperor << The last Holy Roman Emperor. And that's your Portuguese chain of history for the day. Sorry my blocks sync slow so I reply to old ass shit sometimes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Portuguese_Alliance#Modern_times

develCuy I have a suspicion you and I are on the same page. FOUNDER intentions and activities/objectives are often carried out behind the scenes only to be revealed later. So I think that the solution is time and more input from the creators. Otherwise the hell are we doing but creating things that do not physically exist yet proving its worth our time and its possible to continue with even just 1 peer. I think we're doing great.

banter aside

@develCuy or markm please go to the discord channel there is a dev from Qortal asking how to configure the rest of his Devcoin for electrumx...

WARNING: I am pretty sure the code only supports 1/5ths of a share, trying to make it do 1/10ths would probably require a rebuilding of the actual node core software as well as maybe some modifying of the scripts we use to build the distribution files.

So file custodians be aware the files I just prepared might not actually work, we might have to re-do the file-preparing using 1/5ths of a share as I am pretty darn sure that is the smallest granularity we coded in from the start.

-MarkM-

Thanks for the heads up Mark! This is how we are fixing the issue:

1. Increase shares from 200 to 400
2. Duplicate assigned shares to all receivers (i.e: 1/10ths to 1/5ths)
3. Redistribute remaining 1/5ths to ensure the new receiver file is paying 1/5ths (tricky part)

For #3 (and after several tests) I found additional 3/5ths of a share needed to be distributed somewhere, so I did as follows:

- Increase Satoshi0x's Marketing duty shares from 1/5th to 2/5ths (well done Dan!)
- Increase develCuy's Earning Factotum shares from 1/5th to 3/5ths (dude you're keeping me very busy!)

I'll give up (again) some fractions of shares in the future, whenever we need to onboard new people.

Changes are ready to deploy. Go go Devcoin!

- develCuy

The change above should wait till round 123 since current round 122 is already minting under the rules of original receiver_122.csv, the only change is nominal. I changed 1/10ths by 1/6ths to reflect the actual max granularity and surprisingly the sum of all shares when using 1/6ths is 200! Btw, Devcoin blockchain keeps running well, it is just the block explorer that needs the right receiver_122.csv.

This is what I get from getinfo ATM:
Code:
{
"version" : 80700,
"protocolversion" : 70001,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 0.00000000,

"keypoolsize" : 101,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"errors" : "",
"round" : 122
}

In order to fix your node or wallet, please  just shutdown it, delete receiver_122.csv from "receiver" folder and start your node/wallet again. It should start syncing just like my wallet did.

NOTE: In case you are running an old Devcoin version, please download the file manually from: https://receiver01.devcoin.org/receiver_122.csv

A person who lives in the US paying for CS courses is like a guy who has the internet paying for pornography.

Unless you go to Berkeley

...but I don't feel like getting full paint buckets thrown on my clothing for walking around campus because some girl from Newport Beach was reborn into a SJW and shuns me for going to class to learn about making the machines more powerful/labels me a corporatist. Then checks her iPhone and Snapchats to everyone how much of a difference they're all making...

That's what Berkeley's like right?

Sad to say that's most coastal schools right now.  They’ll self destruct but probably leave behind lasting damage.  The US should split in half.  Who’s gonna stop the south and the Midwest?  Haha.

Try for a vertical split since the horizontal one didn't pan out for the overt slavers lol. Now we're just slaves being mandated by Washington D.C. :/

Vertical won’t work.  Too many conservative states would want on and east coast is almost as bad as california.

Expect this, a foretelling map from the heaven.  No blood spilled this way.

I give it an 80% probability of actually coming true.  This eclipse BTW was only over North America so I raise that to 90%. Can’t wait to move to a sane moral state.

You taking CS courses or just self learning.  You’re sounding like a real dev.  Bastardi.  :/

I’m hoping Arizona or Florida fall in the conservative gun toting zone.  Then I’ll come back. Maybe.

Florida isn't conservative enough for you? I'll be there soon enough Smiley

Only cause I heard of kalifornians are moving there.  Colorado was a dream until Californians took over.  They destroy every place they move to.  But for now Florida is great, I’d love it there.

Code:
{
"version" : 80700,
"protocolversion" : 70001,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 0.00000000,
"blocks" : 488965,
"timeoffset" : 0,
"connections" : 4,
"proxy" : "",
"difficulty" : 26172217.34253749,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1542223662,
"keypoolsize" : 101,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"errors" : "",
"round" : 122
}

Go go Devcoin!

No get it
a decentralized coin with a centralized management, changing rules and deciding who gets what ... no good
idea is nice but model is not transparent
reward has to be based on utility like numbers of views & rating

update to a decentralized automatic reward system and maybe you got a chance

Obviously, there's a 100% chance all this data and work are going to get upgraded/compatible with the layers that have oracles on it that will give our community the value it has contributed here. Even thise POST costs value. Multiply by 10.5 years and however many more on private nets.

I'm updated it works great. Fast Fast Fast.
Simple, secure, continuous, merge mined for a decade, and nothing much left for us in UTXO land. One upgrade to 0.9.x - Do we go for Counterparty? It sure is hot. Or maybe we get all over the place - we're the darkhorse of all crypto and I'm seeing NMC IXC making moves on AI grade sights lately. DVC is an unsung here - I'm excited for the Galactic Milieu. MarkM must've got ripped off by Zuck because he's flat out nailed the last 11 year developing the game the right way legally. Excited for crossover Smiley

DVC not showing up on cmc of coingecko but I doubt we’re anywhere close to 2 TRILLION coins.  TRILLIONS.

And there’s no darker horse 🐎 that you can get disgustingly rich on like ixc, on a % ROI basis.

Not. a. one.  And I’m the darkest horse in crypto.  I’ve been acting unstable and crazy and clueless all this time.  You think it’s been easy?  Big win around the corner so I might as well confess.   Grin
