Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

I would like to not believe that ethereum will surpass bitcoin but if the issues with the current high fees and slow transactions of bitcoin, ethereum might surpass bitcoin.

I really like the etherium, but in the near future it can not compete with Bitcoin, bitcoin is much more popular, it's all heard, and so it will be long, the Etherium will not be able to overtake it.

You have no arguments for this statement, Etherium has its advantages but it has it drawbacks also. As far as i am concerned , Ethrrium and BTC are different things and are not direct competitors.

In last week there have been a lot threads which are trying to convince people to sell BTC for something else. These are amateur moves.

Ethereum is the most usable smart contract platform, but there is a lot of competitors. I believe that in 2018-19 NEM and NEO will become a really serious threat for ETH.

I agree Bitcoin has been around too long, at moment it will be the currency for high earners. nothing else could take it over, but we can see large increases with other currencies like Ether
so i think same way BTC skyrocketed, you will see same effect with other currencies, just more less i think its best to focus on other currencies as another skyrocket for everything will happen

i do not think that it will over take bitcoin in the near years because no matter what the bitcoin will be the best and the world number 1 crypto currencies and the bitcoin awards no altcoin can get it pretty fast

It's hard to predict, I think. Bitcoin has limited amount of itself and Ethereum doesn't.
However, Vitalik Buterin said that he thinks about implementing some kind of charge for Ethereum based applications. It would change a lot.

I am not sure if ETHEREUM will beat Bitcoin but it is going to be very prominent as it is now. I think also Bitcoin CASH wants to try to take the no 1 position now and is vying for support by Chris Verge's gang and miners. We might see other altcoins try to get the top spot like EOS, IOTA and CARDANO, so you never know with the way the markets are going, it could be anyone's guess right now. All I do know ETH is still going to be a big player in 2018, wll it take over Bitcoins' position? I have no clue, it's anyone's guess right now.

I think Ethereum will rise in the new year. I believe it will add value but I think it isn't possible to overtake Bitcoin.

There is no chance that Etherium will overtake Bitcoin. Bitcoin is number one whereas Etherium is on the second place in the crypto currency world or market by demand and supply. If u ask to anybody that which coin is favorite. U always hear from him one end only Bitcoin. Peoples have faith on it that it will make rich one day. ethereum might not overtake bitcoin in anyway but it will sure more function than bitcoin. im more likely to use ethereum rather then using bitcoin for transaction as the fees for bitcoin are really killing me.

I agree because there will be no Ethereum if Bitcoin was not created in the first place we can see more demand for Ethereum but Bitcoin will be always no. 1 in terms of price value. most of us learn this cryptocurrency through Bitcoin so I think it will be always on top.

For me, i think ethereum will not overtake bitcoin. Theres a possibility but this is not the time yet. Maybe if bitcoin will be banned in many countries and the effect is bitcoin price crashes.

This can not happen in the crypto currency market that ethereum will overtake to bitcoin because it is very difficult and bit target to get. But i think there seems to be no chance of such a happening.Because there are so many differences between the prices of the two coin.ETH price growing is very highly but BTC is the real king.
