Ethereum couldn't be overtake bitcoin. Ethereum may be same as of bitcoin that has its own blockchain, platform and applications but it can't replace of being pioneer of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin will always on the top since it was the first cryptocurrency that has been made.
Actually, being the first is not and advantage but an handicap. BTC's tech specs are being improved and might be rendered obsolete by ETH. If ETH's implementation of the Casper algorithm and inevitable shift to PoS goes smoothly, then BTC might face some serious competition. |

Hello everyone! Many analysts make such predictions, that next year the Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin. But personally, I somehow find that hard to believe, yet I'm still inclined to think that will not pass.

Perhaps for a short period of capitalization overtake, but the cost is definitely not. In any case Bitcoin will remain the market leader of cryptocurrency.

It will be possible in my opinion as ethereum each the currency that already raised a lot of transaction in the crypto. But the important thing about the bitcoin just like rule in the crypto and every altcoin pegged with it.

It is possible, yes but I don't think it will happen any time now. Bitcoin is the leading right now which is 10x the eths. Ethereum is really great, really great that it's always compared to bitcoin but still, eths is for fueling the ethereum blockchain that people use. It is a great project and a great place to invest your money but right now, Being happy that ethereum is number 2 is probably the best for now. One thing that ethereum lacks is the community based, the adoptations and the big investors in Bitcoin community. This is a very great gap between the two but still everything is possible but now is not probably the time.

I think that ethereum will be the king of crypto. How not, the more and more people are interested to join the ethereum project, whether for transactions, trading, or investment. Many new altcoins also use the ethereum platform. From this it certainly can support the success of ethereum. The price is relatively stable becomes a supporting factor. Nobody knows what will happen in the next few years. But in my opinion no other coin can take its place as next to bitcoin at least for some several years ahead. As of now, we can noticed that once bitcoin falls, all of the coins follows including ethereum. It's a long way to go before its actually happen. I do agree that there are lot of coins with better technology than bitcoin, but this does'nt mean that they will overtake bitcoin price.

Bitcoin and Ethereum both are the best coins in cryptocurrency market and leader of this market and hold the first and second place respectively since long time. Ethereum have strong potential to grow but not to be seems to overtake Bitcoin in near future.

I would be very careful with such statements! As far as I know Ether isn't limited in supply so far right? And just because Ethereum had some nice gains the last 12 months, does not mean this will continue. Ethereum imo is having some real technical issues which aren't that easy to solve. And the platform has lots of competition to be honest. And what is Ethereum being used for except ICOs which mostly hold up the Ether value the last couple of months beside some companies who are by the way mostly interested in parts of the Ethereum Blockchain concept but not direct interested in Ethereum itself?? And you probably read the news regarding coming ICO regulations in several major countries right?! |

It's not impossible that Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin's market capital because Ethereum has been Bitcoin's tail since it's existence way back 2014. Ethereum already beat Bitcoin's features and capabilities like transaction speed, scalability and other factors but the only thing that Bitcoin made it on the first seat as the highest valued crypto in the market today. Ethereum will soon surpass Bitcoin's dominance in the near future if only more investors are trying to support Ethereum's existence starting today. |
