There's no impossible when it comes to ethereum overtaking Bitcoin's market capital value because Crypto Market is highly volatile and Bitcoin and Ethereum does not lie on their price value range for a long time and there should be more price adjustments in the future whether it will go up or down.
There's a big chance that Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin's market dominance but only time could tell the let the free market decide.

I agree with the statement. Ethereum already beat Bitcoin in so many ways and factors except the market capital.
We just let the time and the free market decide whether Bitcoin will stay on top or it will soon step down as the second most valued crypto in the market.
Ethereum is the most anticipated and well supported crypto in the market today as it is the Backbone of over 50% of all new Altcoins today.

It's not realy, because Ether was invented already after bitcoin, now it's not able to compare with the price and capitalization of Bitcoin, because it is twice as large and ETH was created for slightly different purposes than bitcoin.

This is unlikely to happen, I think that none of the altcoys can do anything more than bitcoin. Because it was bitcoin who brought people the blockchain, I think that therefore bitcoin will always be the first, until they come up with nothing more convenient than blockchain

As for me, BTC has always been first. Never has another cryptocurrency overtook it. BTC will always be number one. Given that BTC is the pioneer of cryptocurrency and without it, all the others would've never existed. ETH is a promising coin, given that most of the icos r launched under its platform but that won't mean that's enough to overtake the place of BTC i think.
