How are payouts calculated?

does mineco.in now work with mine_slush?

Quote
Mineco.in

We are now trialing a PPLNS reward scheme.

Who does this benefit?

In brief, this benefits 24/7 miners whilst still allowing others to get rewards for their work, but their rewards will start decreasing once they leave the pool.

PPLNS is fine.
Using the word "whilst" - unforgivable.

Is it that bitcoins.lc gets messed up after a huge round for a while?  I don't understand the shares sticking at exactly 126183 everytime.

The api properly detected a new round but then stopped when it got to 126183 shares.  Weird.

I drink it up!

Maybe we should formally submit a bug report to bclc opper. Maybe he isn't unethical and he just needs to patch his software.

EDIT: never ascribe to malice what can equally be explained by incompetence.

Of course any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

Maybe gnaget can write him an epistle.

From a technical perspective we could patch so that if json <> regex use higher number or use most recently changed by an amount calculated from Gh/s and time since last update.

missed out on 2 bclc rounds so far because the json is broken.  Looks like its time to go back to regex.

Is this information helpful in optimizing hopping. It's comparable to pident and appears to be somewhat related to the new poclbm-autohop method. Seems we need a missionary to reach out to Grinder. gnaget of course comes to mind. Can we knight him our missionary-ambassador? His conversion is so compelling Smiley

expected payout is not how much you should make for the current block: It is how much you should make for all shares that have been submitted, correctly calculating for difficulty.

But this

Quote
Deepbit and Bitcoins.lc are very good, while Eligius lags far behind. The stats are particularly impressive for bclc, because they announce other pools blocks before the pool that solved it almost 50% of the time. Deepbit announce about 50/50 of their own and other pools blocks first.

basically says that detecting if a pool has found a new block via long polling lag does not work.

Looks like bitcoins.lc is faking stats on the json compared to what the website says. Disabled for now.

If any one is interested I made an edit to the index.html so each pool name is a link to its corresponding web address. Makes it easier to visit a pool while reviewing pool stats. The links open in a new tab / window.

Just add the line "url: http://site-address-here.com" to the pool.cfg file for each pool and then change code in the index.html to the code below.

Code:
function getName(payload, srv) {
return "<a href='" + srv['url']  + "' target='_blank' style='text-decoration:underline;color:" + getColor(payload,srv) + ";'>" + srv['name'] + "</href>";
}

function getColor(payload, srv) {
if(payload['servers'][payload['current']]['name'] == srv['name']) {
return 'yellow';
}
if(srv['lag'] == true) {
return 'red';
}
return 'white';
}

I will make a pull req. for you if you want.
The code you released is public domain or you transfer copyright to c00w?

Yeah any one can use it. It's just a few edits that's all. If you want to make a pull req go right ahead. Smiley

Jine over at bitcoins.lc says that the issue with the json is permanently solved in the new system he is launching tonight.  Time will tell.  On the upside, 8 figure payments finally.  YAY.

Quote
It was me uncommenting a few lines due to the 10m row.
It basically sets the stats to a static value to avoid having to do COUNT(*) against a 10m row's table.

Sorry for that, the issue is permanently solved in the new system and it shouldn't be an issue in the future.

Yeah it works fine for me. Did you copy the code I posted and replace the corresponding code in the index.html?

This might help:

Code:
function getName(payload, srv) {
- return srv['name'];
+ return "<a href='" + srv['url']  + "' target='_blank' style='text-decoration:underline;color:" + getColor(payload,srv) + ";'>" + srv['name'] + "</href>";
}

function getColor(payload, srv) {
if(payload['servers'][payload['current']]['name'] == srv['name']) {
return 'yellow';
}
if(srv['lag'] == true) {
return 'red';
}
- return undefined;
+ return 'white';
}

Those are the two changes. Then in the pool.cfg for each pool add the line "url: http://pool-url-here.com" without quotes of course.

See joules? Tongue
I was just manually managing bclc this morning. I probably lost some overnight but it's all working now. I get enough from bclc to make it worth keeping a watch on them. I think jine is probably at a point where fking with hoppers is boring and bclc is big enough that we only benefit him and the 247ers there.

So does this mean bclc is safe to mine on now?

Yes and no.

I dont know if they are still delaying stats.  If they are, you will still come out ahead on most rounds but efficiency is not going to be fantastic.  If they are not delaying stats, then yes its pretty safe to mine on.

Also, the owner of the pool has not been kind to miners.  I am going to mine them but constantly keep an eye on whether they are gaming stats or not.

I drink it up!
