Unless I missed a page ... (which is quite possible) scrolled forever through the block history ...this block is getting close to the last two very long blocks back in March 2012.

As I write we are at 2 days 15 hours and 27 mins @ 98.66% CDF.

2012-03-10     2d 18h 11m    99.0% CDF
2012-03-02     2d 16h 23m    97.8% CDF

And difficulty was only at 1,496,978  Shocked (Now at 16,818,461,371).

Dig in everyone ... all will come good in the world of averages over time.

(Still ... doesn't make you feel any better when the electricity bill keeps rolling without reward though).

I think it is normal. It is the absolute hashpower of the pool is growing, so your share is going down because its stable.

Yep. When the pool hashrate goes up other people are finishing the shifts before you can get the same amount of work in. That's why your work per shift goes down - the shifts are shorter time-wise.

Hi All,

I’ve been mining for about 2 months now and over the past few days I’ve notice my  work steadily decreasing. There was a power outage on the 4th, but other than that nothing else has changed. Does anyone know what’s up with this?

What kind of ASIC device(s) is this? What hashrate is your mining client showing?

Are you getting a lot of rejected work? Hardware errors? Connection problems?

to follow up on the doctor's questions.

looks like you have 3 s-1's  is that the case?

Or if different gear is the working area hotter due to summer heat?

I have 6 S1s, a BE Cube and two BE Blades.    I "think" mine was due to wifi as its back up above 1200 consistently.  I don't watch the ants status page constantly, but they weren't showing anything different when they were down around 1160 as they do now when they are above 1200. (1220s average)

Could you do a traceroute on mint.bitminter.com next time this happens? From the same network location as your miners. Hopefully that can reveal where the problem is occurring.

Also could be useful to know if you are getting timeouts or other network errors. But I guess bfgminer/cgminer just says "pool X is dead" without any further information.

Doesn't look like it's related to the ddos protection. Last ddos attempt was a full month back.

Trace is looking good. Could you also try pinging for a while and see if there is packet loss? And try a telnet to mint.bitminter.com 3333 if you can, and see if you get connected or it times out.

...1.5t jumped to my backup pool

I have no idea what's causing that. It doesn't look like other users are having the same problem.

If you want to test that things are working, connect with putty and paste in these two lines:
Code:
{"method":"mining.subscribe","params":[],"id":1}
{"method":"mining.authorize","params":["test","x"],"id":2}

Alternatively, replace test with your own user_worker name.

You'll see the pool setting the difficulty and sending you work data for mining. You'll get disconnected after some time, for not doing any work, but it should work well enough as a test.

If that's working but your miner says the pool is dead, then I don't know ...

Maintenance 2014.07.11 14:00 UTC. Expected mining downtime 1 to 5 min.

Software upgrade on the mining server. You should probably not even notice this. But if you've had problems with your miner(s) crashing when they get disconnected from the pool, then you'll want to watch out (and report the issue to whoever makes your software).

wifi can do lots of stuff like that.  can you try using a electric wire  cat 5 add on?

one of them plugs into router and an outlet.

then plug into your miners. all hardwired no dropouts

Much as I appreciate averages balance stuff out I'm worried about these big blocks & the lack of return on them.

There are many pools. If we are too greedy for blocks we may well have nothing but crap work dumped on us ( big blocks, low pay ). And at that point our average will suffer.

If that happens your only choice will be to go to a new pool. & Bitminter will die.

No-one can afford to run at a loss after all. So I'd be careful about these big blocks. If someone is trying to pay feck-all for a ton of work you really do need to avoid them.
