hm. at least a little bit reputation for eac. srsly, i begin to trust in this whole eac system, even if last week the "scam-news" were louder than anything else.... eac starts slow but steady...

What types of commerce sites could we target, first, for payment acceptance?
books, toys, everyday items, etc.?
Non-profit donation acceptance, maybe :-) Get greenpeace to accept earthcoins as donation, work on multiple ways for the average joe to gain some eac's, pay for facebook and twitter reply's. Run some adwords / reddit / FB ads targeting people with real interest in helping nature. 2 main points: 1. get green industries and non-profits to consider this coin 2. improve accessibility and obtainability of the coin. ... and the coin is settled :-) Also start blogging about green stuff, not just tech stuff :-) just my 2 satoshi's :-) I think especially non-profits would be a great idea...
they should not really care which way they get money, as long as they get any... if we could get greenpeace or the world wildlife fund or something similar to accept EAC, it'd be great for them and us
maybe someone official could make an official offer to those organizations!
one headline that any well known organization takes EAC would give EAC insane traction maybe add a donation in EAC to the suggestion that they take EAC... could help

Is it even possible to switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake? I mean, it is still a new coin but I don't know about the technical limitations of making such a drastic core change. However, that would make the coin "green" and reduce all the early dumping by miners.
I've been wondering that too, since it would certainly help the green angle. I'm not a coder. Is that even possible? I haven't the faintest clue about programming, but I think I have read that you can patch pretty much anything into a coin as long as people download the new qt for it... but I might have misunderstood or the source was wrong... but tbh, proof of work only has always bothered me with EAC, as it has this green angle and proof of stake is much better when it comes to talking points

testbitcoiner why do you feel the need to bold almost every post? Are the things you're saying somehow more important than what other people are saying?

Quick StartStart with registering on our pool & creating workers for your computers. You can use our automated config generator in our workers page and download pre-configured files for your mining software. EU Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://eu.coinum.org:3335 US Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://us.coinum.org:3335 CGMiner Configuration Here is sample CGMiner configurations with fail-over support. Given that the stratum server you use fails, your miner software will continue to work with out other stratum server. Note: You have to change WORKER and PASS with your actual worker-name and worker-password values you get from workers page. EU./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3335 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3335 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13 US./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3335 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3335 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13 - Our network - We already operate first class & high performance pools, check our other pools over http://www.coinium.org

- Fail-over config support - In case that the stratum server you use fails, your miner will just continue to mine with our secondary stratum server.
- VARDIFF enabled - Our stratum servers will shift your work difficulty based on your hash-rate automatically.
- DDOS Protected - Our servers are DDOS protected 7x24!
- Automated backups - We get automated backups of our system.
- Automatic payments - You can set automatic payments if you like to.
- Fast confirmations - We are quickly processing your transactions once newly found blocks are confirmed.

These full page pool ads are definitely the most annoying thing in this thread. Please stop.
One thing I've been wondering about is why everyone seems to think Earthcoin is trying to be 'green' and promote the environment and clean living etc
Has the Earthcoin team ever actually claimed this? All I see in their advertising is that it's the coin for the people....of Earth.

Thank you all so much for the nice comments about www.earthcoin.eu and especially for all your donations! I will in my turn use them as giveaway in the future to get more people to use www.earthcoin.eu AND to get people to register @ www.earthcointalk.org . Thanks again!

Hi fellow earthcoiners, Since we agreed to merge the EU forums with bitcointalk.org i have modified the site "earthcoin.eu" to be more of a collector of useful news and threads that might interest the earthcoin community. I have just grabbed a few things from facebook, bitcointalk and earthcointalk for now. But I need your help to gather information to be able to keep up with everything that´s happening around earthcoin right now. There´s a "news tip" link where you can send me stuff to put up there and hopefully i´ll be able to get it online within a couple of hours at least. The site should also be pretty scalable if you want to use mobile, tablets or whatever. So head on over to www.earthcoin.eu and check it out and you can also use the news tip link to send feedback if you want BR SiteAdmin info@earthcoin.eueZg5iVS58re5m9573uxPkfUdF3ctAEDjm5 Great job! And conguatulation! More sites of earthcoin builded up in cointinents. BTW, BTC38 has just collected EAC in its library. But it'll be not long till it's truly listed.

No, I don't think they ever made any such claims. But considering the "Earth" brand and the fact that the green/environmental movement would be the obvious choice for adoption, I think it would be a mistake to not explore that angle.

I know that Earthcoin does not really advertise like its some energy conscious/green living currency, but its not a bad angle to advertise from due to how "low energy usage" conscious people are becoming. So if it was possible to modify Earthcoin in to using Scrypt-Jane, then we all could cut down on our energy usage, as one of my rigs uses about 700w when on Scrypt, and 540w on Scrypt-Jane. you'd also be resistant to the Scrypt-ASICs that should be showing up later this year.

I have received responses back from a few charitable organizations. After some discussion I believe you will see their logo on the home page. Watch tomorrow. EarthCoin is real boys, but only as real as the people behind it. Get behind it.
