Already started my friend. I have received responses back from a few charitable organizations. After some discussion I believe you will see their logo on the home page. Watch tomorrow. EarthCoin is real boys, but only as real as the people behind it. Get behind it. that is GREAT to hear!!!!

I know that Earthcoin does not really advertise like its some energy conscious/green living currency, but its not a bad angle to advertise from due to how "low energy usage" conscious people are becoming. So if it was possible to modify Earthcoin in to using Scrypt-Jane, then we all could cut down on our energy usage, as one of my rigs uses about 700w when on Scrypt, and 540w on Scrypt-Jane. you'd also be resistant to the Scrypt-ASICs that should be showing up later this year.
I've also been wondering what that would mean to a currency, good or bad? From a hobbyist miner's perspective, it would be awesome if all new coins would be scrypt-jane because then even with 1 gpu I can mine some coins when the difficulty is not too high yet. When the scrypt asics are released to the public, only the already wealthy investors can mine standard scrypt coins at release. But for an already established coin where gpu mining barely pays for the electricity? Dunno..

If we could make EAC resistant to Scrypt-ASICs it would surely help keeping EAC as alternative for the people. Can it be done?

We are happy to announce the Earthcoin pin has gone into production. Will be here shortly. That looks great! We are also happy to announce a few things. 1. EarthCoin Foundation beta :: http://www.earthcoin.biz/eac_foundation.html2. You'll notice a few updates to the websites navigation et al. 3. Our Client version 1.1 has been released :: Client: http://www.earthcoin.biz/earthcoin11.zipSource: https://github.com/earthcoinproject/earthcoin* More recent checkpoints have been added, thus making the coin more secure, and we've made a few misc small improvements. * It is NOT mandatory to upgrade, however we still do recommend that you do. * This means we'll need new Linux and Mac clients(< Both maverick and older versoins, two separate downloads is fine, we're alienating a few users I want to ensure all can use our wallets). Bounty's will be given out - would prefer to have the same crew that did the first batch to ensure continuity in builds. Lot's going on - will check back in a bit

I am going to bed now, but I'll make a post about scrypt-jane tomorrow unless one you guys does it tonight
