Good decision, in my opinion.
Bot traders will complain perhaps, but for the majority it's an improvement, and shows that Bitstamp listens to customer complaints (about unfair fees, in this instance).
or just calculate with 0,00x€ fees and so on. I think Kraken does this. In the history a trade of e.g. 7€ with 0,1%fee has 0,00€ fee, but when you do one more trade 0,01€ is deducted. i like this idea of keeping track of what still has to be charged... but i think it would be safer if this was done the other way around: Bitstamp could first overcharge by rounding up, and keep track of this overcharged amount. and then in successive trades try to return the overcharged amount. this way Bitstamp is never losing money. of course, introducting more decimal places helps in reducing the overcharged amount.

They told me my drivers license is also OK. Will try to send them the documents tonight...
About using another exchange, tell, me, which one?
I don't trust BTC-e. And it is very expensive to get EUR in. Localbitcoins? Not for me...
Kraken maybe? Never tried it...
I am used to Bitstamp. I would like to continue using that exchange, but if it is impossible, I will need to change...
I will let you guys know what they think of the bank statements I send them. I will NOT be sending my whole financial hostory.
I am using Kraken and it works just fine for me I use Kraken too, but it's not the most suitable trading for me, I have started to use LakeBTC recently..

Not sure which Bitcoin wallet you should use? Get Electrum!Electrum is an open-source lightweight client: fast, user friendly, and 100% secure. Download the source or executables for Windows/OSX/Linux/Android from, and only from, the official Electrum homepage.

Changed to Raiffeisen Bank for me as well, would be nice to know what their exchange rate is seeing as Unicredit gave us corporate rates.

it is still Unicredit bank for me, and I hope it will stay the same because I use the same bank as they do and deposits/withdrawals usually are cleared the same day.

For those that are wondering, if you want to know how much your money is in $ for transfers to BS, they are using http://www.raiffeisen.si/ceniki_in_tecaji/ to calculate it. Trying to find out which tab on that page they are using, but at least it's better than their new banks retail rate.

The screen cap is from the day I posted it, should have mentioned that. Conclusions: it seems for some user, the bank is still Unicredit, and for some, it is now Raiffeisen. @hazekCould you please clarify if you are changing banks (for everyone? for some users?). Changing the banking details (if only for a subset of users) is a big enough deal to announce it, I believe.

Another reply from Bitstamp, they have confirmed that they are using the prices at http://www.raiffeisen.si/ceniki_in_tecaji/menjalni_tecaji/1 to figure out the conversion. So for us brits, it's a nice bank to use. Raiffeisen shows 10000 GBP = 17,086.7286 USD Unicredit shows 10000 GBP = 16,969.43 USD Just got to confirm that it's accurate information .

Just got another message from Bitstamp... sincere apologies for the misleading information regarding your first question. Bitstamp recently entered in a relationship with a Raiffeisen Bank. That means that both bank account are operational so you can either transfer your funds to our Raiffeisen or Unicredit account. The exchange rate stays the same in both cases ( http://www.unicreditbank.si/tecajna_lista/?t=1&id_menu=&language=ENG ) If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again. Best regards, Anžej Simičak support manager Hmmm, let's see about the exchange rate shall we . **Edit** Confirmed, it still uses unicredit's exchange rate.

I agree, and I do support stamp, it should expand types of currency and don't add any altcoins.

You should never rely on someone else to keep your BTC secure. If you don't mind sending them your dox and answering personal questions, it should be OK for buying/selling BTC. I wouldn't recommend them for day-trading unless you only do so with small amounts that you wouldn't mind losing in the unlikely but possible scenario of Bitstamp ending up like Gox, and I would first make some inquires to check whether they have fixed their trading engine.

Seems the confirmation time needed for Raiffeisen is just 2-3 hours more than Unicredit! The fees deducted from my deposit is just 0.0482%, much lower than 0.1% declared by bitstamp! They always charge my deposit for 0.1% when using Unicredit.
