I'll speak with our system administrator regarding the API questions however I know that most of the changes done in the past 2 weeks were because of trying to conserve resources that were being drained through ddos of the public side of our API.

I can also already say that an option is being prepared for a download of the entire history up to the current via a different method but unfortunately I can't provide any ETA.

My personality type: INTJ - please forgive my weaknesses (Not naturally in tune with others feelings; may be insensitive at times, tend to respond to conflict with logic and reason, tend to believe I'm always right)

There would be no overhead in adding a field to the JSON output for  https://www.bitstamp.net/api/transactions/ - you are already querying the transaction your side, why not report ask/bid - it's pretty useless without this information.

Thanks for looking into it!

How long does the account verification take on average?

Hello,

I did a 2.000,00 USD deposit in Bitstamp using ASTROPAY, my bank account was charged (taxes and all), but 96+ hours later nothing arrived at my Bitstamp account...

How can I solve this fast ?

Thank You.

Trying to get a handle on the fees charged for transfer of funds out of bitstamp to a US bank account.

Here was my experience on a test move last week.

Nov 5th - BITSTAMP
$1,044.xx - withdrawal
-$15.00 - wire fee

Nov 11th - MY BANK
$1,002.xx - deposit
-$16.00 - wire fee
---------------------
$986.xx - total received

Now, my question is BITSTAMP supposedly sent my bank $1029.xx, but my bank only received 1002.xx.

Where did that $27.00 difference go?  Talked my my bank branch manager today and they did not assess any extra fees.  It's a flat $16 to receive an international wire, no additional transaction fees.

An intermediary bank probably, but your bank manager should be able to see this.

Reply from my bank this AM is that they can see nothing that was taken out by an intermediary.

Almost 13 hours and no reply from bitstamp to my ticket with them.

Why is that information at all relevant? If you want to know the state of bids, why not just poll the orderbook and take the max bid, then poll a bit later what the max bid is again, if it's lower then there has been some selling going on in the bid walls, otherwise there was some buying pressure.

Anyway walls are pretty useless indicator wise as they only show the "visible" demand.

Don't understand why you have resources issues at least not with the public api calls. (Refresh them locally once every X seconds, then cache them behind a good CDN)...

Why is that information at all relevant?

The talk was about trades not orderbooks.

Knowing trade type can be useful, for example, when you want to identify the quality and volumes of liquidity demanders activity  (by actual trades performed).

I waited four days and got denied.

A friend waited one day and got accepted.

We used the same type of verification documents. I would call that rather annoying.

Where did that $27.00 difference go?
It's long been the case that there is "creaming off the top" happening by one or more parties. Nothing new here.

A different case, but one example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg3491094#msg3491094

Btw on our end currency conversion is done automatically by our bank free of charge at their daily exchange rate spreads: http://www.unicreditbank.si/tecajna_lista/?t=1&id_menu=&language=ENG
In my experience over several deposits in a month, it's not quite free of charge, the rate given is ~0.8% less than the unicredit rates listed.

Approaching 36 hours and still no reply by them to my ticket. . .

Completely normal to ignore/delay replies from "challenging queries". Again, nothing new there. You must be new to Bitstamp! Tongue

Hello,

I woudl like a reply from Bitstamp re: Support Ticket #20849.

I deposited USD 350 via AstroPay on November 11, 2013, but my account hasn't been credited.

The transaction occurred via the AstroPay partner in Chile. AstroPay debited my bank account (Banco de Chile) in 2013-11-11, but no funds have been credited to my Bitstamp account yet.

My Bitstamp account # is [deleted]

Thanks in advance.
