I can't get the latest Android app to sync with my wallet.

Everytime i want to login into my wallet and i enter my alias i get a "Authorize log-in attempt" message.

Email only states the attempt that i made few seconds ago...

It's annoying... can i turn this off?

If you login successfully once your browser should be remembered for up to 1 month, is this not happening? To avoid these messages you can use the direct link from the welcome email to login rather than using the alias but they cannot be disabled currently.

We got further information from our carrier confirming that business such as bitcoin is not a proper financial tool in China and the Authority may treat bitcoin as an illegal business. Unfortunately the China Telecom Authority has requested that all bit-coin traffic to China be blocked.

As the provider of the phone number, Twilio is responsible for assuring the carriers that no more traffic related to bitcoin will be sent to China. Therefore, I have removed your international SMS permission to China. Please do not turn this on or try sending SMS messages to mobile numbers in China. Doing so will very likely lead to immediate account suspension.

Again I'm sorry for the convenience. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Not sure if this is the official state opinion. But as a consequence we can no longer send SMS messages to users in China.

I've never heard of China ISPs or carriers issuing warnings. It just doesn't happen. You just get blocked with no warning. It's totally opaque. So this seems very odd. "China Telecom Authority" seems spurious as well.

I PM'd the op for more information yesterday but he didn't respond. It is likely that he had a easily guessable alias, no two factor authentication and an insufficiently strong main password. The way aliases work has changed recently but old accounts with no email associated and easily guessable aliases are most vulnerable.

Without two factor authentication there is no protection from keyloggers or malware. Even with two factor authentication I highly suggest that any coins which don't need to be stored online be stored on a paper wallet. There is dedicated bitcoin stealing malware about (targeting desktop clients as well).

Unfortunately for some user they don't think they are vulnerable and they don't apply this added layer of security until after they are a victim of an attack.

This is working now, thanks. However, this is a problem for me if there is such gaps - particularly last night I really needed access to it. What kind of problem happens that stops sending such email ?

Avoid using an alias which is short, a common english word or the same username as you use on other sites. Install the chrome extension and enter the identifier once and there should be no need to use a shortlink at all.

Also be extremely careful importing private keys or sharing private keys publicly. Cbeast swept 45 BTC from electrum into address https://blockchain.info/address/1MQVYyHAEE3S4iGCPUS6Kx3FYABconWBV6 using the web interface. However the private key for that address has been used as part of a bitcoin treasure hunt and the coins seem to have been automatically moved somewhere else. If you do import a private key from a treasure hunt competition or from another public source use a disposable wallet.

The dates on clarkmoody are rendered using javascript which are automatically converted to the browsers local time settings. The dates on blockchain.info are generated server side which is much harder to localise as the users local time zone is not available to the server. I'm not sure of a good solution to this.

Emails have to be sent through a proxy to hide the SMTP server ip, sometimes that proxy is ddos'd or just unreliable. I would suggest to use Google authenticator instead if possible.

It would be good when there would be a javascript button beneath each address. When clicking it the address is copied into clipboard. That would save me some time because at the moment i manually select the address and copy it.

And i now had the first time a payment with a username and a link to bitcoin-otc. Unfortunately the bitcoin address is never seen fully. Its halved and its not fixed with a broader browser window. Even in the actual transaction its the same... of course when clicking the address the address is on top seeable in full. But its taking some time...

why is the public key of my bitcoin address  on blockchain.info   130 character while the scriptPubKey on bitcoind is 50 characters?
