If you guys go full POS, it will do nothing for demand.  I don't know why that is so hard to understand.  Why do I want UTC suddenly because you are PoS? Why do I want to buy a coin that changes it's mind as to what it is every other month?

The problem is this thread is full of bagholders trying anything to artificially boost the value of the coin with no regards as to what the perception of those actions will be.  Go to the parent of this thread and count how many PoS coins are on the front page and ask yourselves how those are doing.  How's mint?  How's Liberty?  How's Minerals, Sat2, Guerilla, Fire, Nxt, etc.  There are probably 50 more of them.

But I'm sure you're all stuck on Blackcoin's success.  How about Whitecoin?  It's down 90% from PoW phase.

You're just going to look flaky and desperate going full PoS.  It will be seen as manipulative by those not involved in the coin as it effectively gives bagholders all the leverage.  I seriously doubt it will raise demand, but I can see it completely killing it.

+1
Going full PoS would mean one pump a then big bagholders' dump. Then the coin is dead. And really asic resistant.

Well, its only speculation from someone in the cryptsy trollbox.. Would be nice if someone from the management would clarify..

i wish these new owners wouldn't announce pre-news before news - this is one of the things that annoyed me about BF (just saying). And then leave us guessing for 4 days what the news could be. For future reference don't make announcements about future announcements. Just tell us when you have something to say

more hash on the multipool will helps in increasing the value of the coin so the multipool can buy more UTC and we can also make some profit.

Yepp agree, we were at 1GHz for X11 and that is when the price was at its highest. All my miners work the m/pool 24*7

I've been looking, but I probably don't know the correct terms. Is there a way to convert the current UTC Net Hashrate and Difficulty to "scrypt" numbers?

Just been having a browse and noticed BTER have a voting system for new coins to be added - https://bter.com/voting - are we participating? We need the chinese market. I have requested they add UTC to their list.

Also on bitcoinwisdom they have alot of altcoins now listed but no UTC - can we ask them to add us?

Finally any idea when the big 'super-duper' mining rigs are getting delivered?

EDIT: they have emailed me to say they have added UTC to the voting

Hello dudes!

Did you know BitcoinPoster.com?

You could put a logo of their coin there..   Smiley

Thankss

A decade ago, some kid got famous for selling ad space (by the pixel) on his website with his goal of reaching a million dollars.  don't remember the site.  But once it got news tractions, he was able to reach his goal.  this is a dead ripoff of that.  I'm not hating, just kind of jealous someone did something so derivative, and so simple, yet is still making a shitload off of it.

+1 so well articulated

True, it will not rise the demand so much, but it will cut down the inflation. --> easier to get some value back

Liberty, WC, Mint etc. dont suffer from PoS, they have the same problem as UTC: no demand.

But I'm sure most of them would be already on LTC Market or just delisted if they would be mineable.

Going full pos isn't the solution, but a step into the right direction IMHO.

You raise demand by increasing acceptance, without acceptance a currency is useless. Again, look at Doge Coin, it is worth almost nothing in dollar value yet it is widely accepted. Bitcoin is not a PoS coin, other coins are PoS which are successful. It is completely arbitrary to the long term success of the coin. The acceptance and the price of the coin relies completely on the community and businesses that support it. The USD has the advantage of being legal tender, which crypto-currency is against. Without this noone would accept USD by choice. Bitcoin is different as many people chose to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin has the luxury of being the first. What sets Ultracoin apart is going to be the amount of businesses that accept it + the inflation + features. We have many things to look forward to in features, I think the biggest features are ASIC resistance which increases decentralization, speed which should increase vendor and customer acceptance, and community which enables Ultracoin to be used in unique ways such as video game currency. I think right now the
community should focus on broadening the range of businesses that accept Ultracoin through e-mail. Full PoS and other artificial means of success are like trying to build a foundation out of sand. It is not a means to an end.

Hello,

Let me know if more people have this problem!
In Chrome you can go to settings --> Advanced --> Protection phishing / malware then uncheck the box for the download

I almost fully agree with you, but full PoS isn't a artificial mean of success. Its just the next step of the altcoin evolution IMHO.
And its really ASIC resistent Wink

Guy's and Girl's,

The Multipool was specially build to help Ultracoins price going up.

The concept of mining the most profitable scrypt/X11/Sha256 coin, then selling for BTC and buying back UTC is a beautiful concept.

But if there are to less miners on the Multipool it wil not work and the Multipool has to close his doors soon.

Please consider to put your rigs and hashrate for at least of 75% on the Multipool !
